I came from an Ipaq H5550 and I have been using it as a device to store and review my pictures (I am a professional photographer).
After I received my XDAII I noticed a strange behavior on some textures, it appear that the XDAII does not display all the color my Ipaq was capable of.
This is not a complain even because I never relied on PDAs screen or Laptop screens to judge the color of my pictures and also I love my XDAII, instead I am just curious to confirm if I had made a step back on this matter and know my toy a little bit more.
I know that the display even being the same resolution it is not the same size, the image is also more contrasted and darker compared to the Ipaq.
This is the only aspect I prefered the Ipaq, any other I prefer the XDAII that make for such a superb and complete toy.
I have noticed the same thing (dithering) a lot on the XDA 2 and I am very worried. I felt it was not a true 64bit 65000 colour screen, but no-one else replied to posts on the subject so I thought perhaps I am being silly!
The same to me: my new i-mate shows picture in the same way as xdaI was. The screen is bright, the colors are perfect, but the picture looks like on 4096 colors mode.
No dithering is turned on.
The same effect with different images& viewers.
I do not know how this happened, if it was due to TOMTOM5 what, but the screen resoluton has become completely blurred and even a hard reset won't bring it back? attached is a photo that shows the problem. This is not a camera issue as the same distortion is visible everywhere including cnn.com? any ideas?
Explain....
So, your display is blurred or the camera? If it's the screen at fault, posting apicture from the camera doen't help us as it isn't displayed on your screen.
the screen is at fault
it is the screen, not the camera that is gone. that is why I mentioned that this happens on cnn.com too. I don't know how to do a screen shot, so I had to use a photo.
This but is similar to what one might see on an overly mpeged photo, or if I take the colors on my PC screen down to 64 or 128 from128000 etc. so I think is a setting issue, maybe tomtom reset the scree somehow? who knows, but the fix lies somewhere in the registry, I hope
Again, it won't matter if you do a screen shot as the grab is handled internally.
Get a camera and take a picture of the screen when it's displaying the problems.
a bit of confusion here...
I don't have a pc here, so I could only see the photo through this screen, not realizing the camera and hence data/ photo uploaded were absolutely fine.
Lacking a means of showing the problem, all I can do is describe it, so here goes.
The photo and images look very square, some large areas that, for example used to a clear blue, with detailed tones and variations in brightness/ contrast, becomes solid blue. this happens everywhere, all contrast and detail flatening out and becoming solid/opaq.
It may be a screen resolution or color setting that has been altered and that cannot be changed back after a hard reset. Thanks for offering to help here,
M
I have i-mate JAMin PDA mobile phone.
USB communication is OK, reflash ROM was OK, but I don´t see WM system on the LCD. It lights only WHITE color with high level contrast.
What do you mean where is problem????
Thank you your opinion.
Hello everyone, i´m on [ROM] Back to the Future [XBmod-Yuki] [7720 ready] and i was playing with the camera and found out that if i take nigth shots or with poor ligth with these settings:
SCENES - candleligth
FLASH - auto
i have no green tint
At least for me.
Well done, seems to work ok, serious blue tint on normal photos but can set it back to auto.
It doesn't make sense though adding a blue filter to reduce a green tint but there you go!
BTW can we have front facing camera and WP7 on SD please

Click to collapse
Yes i know it´s not perfect but if you auto enhance with HTC Photo Enhancer it gets much better at least better than green/yellow tint.
The candleligth settings work better on nigth and poor ligth conditions, on normal ligth or sunny get back to normal settings and pictures come out ok.
good evening, today I'm here not for a problem (strangely) but to ask for help, you know a good camera with which I can photograph beautiful sunsets without the colors being distorted, like if the sky is pink I would like to see it pink in the room and not orange, if you know what I mean.
Gcam but you have to adjust the settings manually to get the picture how you want it.
Try night mode as well and place your phone on a tripod for the best picture
