I do not know how this happened, if it was due to TOMTOM5 what, but the screen resoluton has become completely blurred and even a hard reset won't bring it back? attached is a photo that shows the problem. This is not a camera issue as the same distortion is visible everywhere including cnn.com? any ideas?
Explain....
So, your display is blurred or the camera? If it's the screen at fault, posting apicture from the camera doen't help us as it isn't displayed on your screen.
the screen is at fault
it is the screen, not the camera that is gone. that is why I mentioned that this happens on cnn.com too. I don't know how to do a screen shot, so I had to use a photo.
This but is similar to what one might see on an overly mpeged photo, or if I take the colors on my PC screen down to 64 or 128 from128000 etc. so I think is a setting issue, maybe tomtom reset the scree somehow? who knows, but the fix lies somewhere in the registry, I hope
Again, it won't matter if you do a screen shot as the grab is handled internally.
Get a camera and take a picture of the screen when it's displaying the problems.
a bit of confusion here...
I don't have a pc here, so I could only see the photo through this screen, not realizing the camera and hence data/ photo uploaded were absolutely fine.
Lacking a means of showing the problem, all I can do is describe it, so here goes.
The photo and images look very square, some large areas that, for example used to a clear blue, with detailed tones and variations in brightness/ contrast, becomes solid blue. this happens everywhere, all contrast and detail flatening out and becoming solid/opaq.
It may be a screen resolution or color setting that has been altered and that cannot be changed back after a hard reset. Thanks for offering to help here,
M

I'm not sure if this has been discussed, I did a forum search but found nothing. Just like the title says, when I take a photo with my HD2 using the camera flash, the photo has a weird green tint. Photos taken without the flash look fine. I have gone into the camera settings and played with the contrast, saturation, and sharpness settings but this didn't really solve the problem. Strange thing is, right after I take the photo, it goes into preview mode and I can see the photo with the green tint...after a few seconds it goes back to the camera. But in the split second before it goes back, I can see the photo without the green tint and it looks perfect! But only for a second and the saved photo is GREEN
I got the same green effect on my 2.2 froyo. This happened only after upgrading to the stock 2.2.
Any ideas?

Ive had green tint in some photos when ive changed the camera iso to 800 and forgotten to lower it or put it into auto when going into a brightly lit environment. basically seems like the sensor or amps/ADC are being overloaded.
Check your iso setting, try it in either auto or iso100 and see if you still have the problem
I've been having this problem when every few photos, just a plain green picture is taken. And sometimes there are distorted colors. I decided to play around with the settings to check if it changes anything.
I found out that the problem is keeping the focus mode in Continuous Auto focus. Keeping it in this mode apparently has problems which are the green photos, distorted colors, and around 2 seconds of lag between the shutter and the photo being taken.
Keeping it on Auto took off 2 of the problems which were the green photos and distorted colors. But it was still kind of laggy, I think it's supposed to be this way though to have time for it to focus
Putting it on Infinity fixed all of it, I took over 20 photos without any problem or lag.
I don't know why that problem occurred, but it's probably just the camera firmware and not a hardware problem.
Hope I got to help
Alright, so I have a nexus 4. I don't know how long this issue has been around, since only now am I noticing it. After having a fairly high contrast image on the screen for a few seconds, such as the facebook status bar, if I go to another app or the homescreen, sometimes I can see a faint outline of the image. It can occasionally get really bad, especially after the screen has been off for a while. Like I was watching a video on firefox, so I switched to landscape mode. The video couldn't go full screen and I had two grey bars on the side. I was shocked to clearly see the firefox navbar burnt into my screen. Thankfully all of it cleared up, but I'm wondering if anyone else has an image persistence issue. I'll try and get a picture once I can find a camera with decent exposure. Also, it seems that the sides of the screen, especially the right side, are brighter than the rest of the screen, also after the screen has been off for a while. Don't know if the two issues are correlated or not, but I think they are. I was using facebook and my phone crashed with a white screen with lines going through it, awful image persistence, and terrible bleed through. Held down the power button and there was the bleed through and image persistence, along with screen flicker that makes a CRT look entirely static. I'm wondering, what the hell is up with my phone? I haven't really done anything wrong to it, this just kind of happened.
Got a photo. Couldn't find the cable to connect my camera to my computer, so I had to take a photo of a photo, and for that it turned out alright. Don't know how well it will turn out on different displays, but trust me it's there. This is the icon in the top right corner of the facebook application. When I swipe from the right to the left to see who's available for chat, I can see an outline of the icon that was there before.
I've noticed the persistence too at times, like a ghost image - CRT with a static image on too long, so if there was any doubt, it's not just you
I've had the same problem several times before. I just had it again, quite prominent! It stays for a few seconds, and then fades off to nothing.....Quite worried? :S
Hi!
I'm having a problem with my camera and haven't seen a thread about this specific problem yet.
This only occurs on special light levels. I can adjust the brightness of the lights and if i go any brighter it dissapears and it also seem to dissapear if i go less bright. I haven't used the camera much but I don't see this on pictures i take in my livingroom or outside (it needs just the right brightness level to show). It occurs both on pictures and on video, but as it is easier to see on the video.
Does anyone have the same issue, or is it a thread that i've missed? I'd like to know if I should try to get a replacement or not.
Thanks!
Can't link as this is my first post, but here is the problem, and I hope I'm allowed to link like this (otherwise remove thread).

The problem you are talking about is the banding of horizontal lines? My guess is that as you adjust your lights it changes the frequency so that it is now causing the often noticed problem of when you take video of your tv monitor.. the shutter speed of the phone and the lights are oscillating.
This happens with all video cameras to a degree. Since the phone has less control over its settings i would suggest you just change your lighting until the problem goes away. Possibly changing the camera profile to something different could help but that just seems the wrong way to deal with the problem at this time.
I'm not sure if this is related to some interference in your ground to your lights or what, but hopefully my post will help you research it on the net or something positive.
Good luck.
So, I've been having some issues with the focus on the rear facing camera for the V20
This is a pic with the Wide Angle Lens:

It's crisp and clear (ish)
This is a pic with the normal lens:

It's blurry as hell, unless I'm like two inches away:

I've tried in both Auto and Manual mode, and have tried the focus in both Auto and Manual.
Any ideas?
Many thanks.
P.S. sorry for the imgur links, I haven't posted enough to be allowed links in side my post.
Nope. Just issues with longer focus in darker scenes but that is every phone. Lens clean?
Did you find any solution, I've the same issue.
#4
i have same issues
any solutions?
Tap to focus
I find just pointing it and clicking doesn't set focus properly with some scenes
It's a bit odd as the G4 would have zero issues with this and the V20 also has IR AF
Any Solution yet?
I am also having the same issue, the focus doesn't work, neither manually nor in auto mode. Sometimes, just sometimes, it luckily does work, but most of the time it doesn't.. i dont understand what the problem is..
Recently, the camera was acting way weird, like showing dark picture with green lines, and sometimes it wouldnt even open, it showed just a black screen, i cleared data of gallery and camera, which resolved the issue, but still void of ability to focus.
