who can help me - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

hi i want to know why this happen i have a HTC HD2 i put ANDROID whe i turn off my cel phone its turn on back is windows again why ?

That's what's supposed to happen.
Remember when you first ran Android? You were in Windows and manually ran a couple of exe files. As you saw then, you need to do that to run Android.
Get a bootloader (see this thread) so all you have to do is press a button when you reboot, or you can set it to autoboot into Android.
It will still need to run Windows first though.

I have looked everywhere and tried everything - Windows 7 WILL NOT connect to my HD2

I have tried changing the fast sync option
I have removed everything from the computer and re-installed.
I have hard reset my HD2.
I have restored my computer to before i bought the HD2 and let windows figure out that it needs to install WMDC - then let it download itself and install it.
I have tried every USB port on my computer and also bought a powered USB hub and tried that.
After all installs it just simply wont let me make a partnership or anything.
I don't know what to do anymore. I WANT ME SOME NEW ROMS!!!! please help me out. Other than things to get Windows 7 to work - is there a way to flash hardSPL2 / roms without USB?
I appreciate any help given and i have searched the forums here and all over the net. If i missed that one special trick that my computer needs i do apologize.

I had the same problem with Win 7, however when I unchecked the faster connection option on HD2 it connected, although in Win7 it had a red x in mobile connection, but on the HD2 a connection had been established.
is formatting your PC an option?
Firewall?
I have three Windows 7 machines (32 & 64) and all connect without any problem. Disconnect from your internet connection. Turn off your anti-virus and firewall and give it a shot. Do you get the window that asks how you want to connect when you plug in your cable? Do you have a functioning cable? Just because it charges does not mean it will connect for data. Will it connect to an XP machine?

Have you tried a different usb cable? That's the only other thing I can think of that might be the problem.
HD2 on Windows 7 Ultimate
Hi
Had the same problem, and it turned out that the USB-cable i used, was the problem.
I used the cable that followed the 12v Car Charger, and that did no good, so I went and got the cable that came in the package (chargercable) and then it was Christmas and halloween alltogether.
Works like a charm!
@djchubbs yes i have turned that off as well - along with windows firewall
@ozkaya - no formatting my pc is not an option
@johnboatcat - When i plug it in the phone instantly asks me what kind of connection i want (file transfer or active sync with the checkbox option for faster sync as well). It transfers files just fine in file transfer mode as well.
@zarathustrax i have not tried a different USB cable as i dont have access to one. I doubt something is wrong with mine however i will have to see if i can get one somewhere.
@kongsvada Only cable i have is the one that came in the box factory from HTC
Again thank you for all the replies! I really really am trying to get this to work. I have my home computer which i do everything on but i tried my friends laptop today - it has the same exact build of windows 7 on it as my home computer (if that matters) and it will not sync or let me make a partnership or anything. I plugged it in, it downloaded WMDC and installed etc, restarted the computer and plugged it in, went to active sync mode and WMDC or the sync center do not recognize it at all. Since i cant find it in sync center i cant create a partnership.

OK, let me help you on this if flashing a new ROM will be your immediate task.
1) Just download the ROM that you like and rename it to LEOIMG.nbh
2) Make sure you've HSPL your LEO first.
3) Copy the renamed file into the root of your memory card.
4) Press the VOL down button simultaneously while turning ON your LEO.
5) Just follow the onscreen instructions on your LEO.
6) That's it.
the only problem that I can sense for you now is to HSPL your device because it does require connection with your PC. To bypass this connection with PC thing, do this;
a) Turn OFF your LEO.
b) Turn ON while pressing the VOL Down button together and it will enter the bootloader mode (TRICOLOR Screen).
c) At the bottom of your LEO, it will says "serial"
d) Now, connect the cable to your LEO and and your PC, the words will change to "Usb"
e) Let your PC do its work by installing the necessary driver automatically.
f) When it is done, run the HSPL program your PC. You can download it from this wonderful forum (Please search for it in the ROM development section)
g) Let the program finish and you can see something on your LEO screen in the process. Just look at it and let it finish. DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR LEO (I don't want you to brick your device).
h) When everything is done, reset your LEO and this time press the VOL Down button. This is to go back to the bootloader mode and to check whether the HSPL has been install correctly.
i) then go back to the steps (1 to 6) above to flash your new ROM.
Enjoy,
please post your result and help others too.

I had the same problem with my new computer which happend to be running windows 7 (everything was fine on my old xp machine). After much searching and trouble shooting the problem eventually came down to a setting on the motherboard (something to do with the p55 chipset). After I'd turned the c-state option on in the bios I've had no further issues.
It's a long shot but perhaps it will help you too
ok this sounds promising - i will try it this weekend when i have the time - i greatly appreciate the help and i will post results to let everyone know!
thank you all and like i said - will be trying your way soon mmorisa!
I had to change a registry setting on Windows 7 to get it to connect to my HD2... Of course I cant remember the setting, it may be this one

This worked great! I knew about bootloader screen, i knew i could flash from the SD card but i didn't know how to put them together. Thank you very very much for the help, now off to flashing roms!
One simple - probably stupid question:
I have seen TMOUS compatible on a few roms, however i will then read for that same rom that it is 576 ONLY - And then in another rom thread i see the creator of the rom say TMOUS compatible and then "TMOUS=1024". So what one is it!? just trying to be safe
Again - thank you all so much for the help - i really appreciate everyone that tried to help!
Edit: Just flashed the Evo rom to the phone, plugged it in and BAMN im able to sync with WMDC immediately - so thank you all so so much - super happy now with my 1024 leo!
slowestcivic,
I feel happy that you managed to do it and flash your favorite ROM with the guides I wrote.
at least i can see another smile from another happy LEO user.
best regards and don't forget to help others too.

yeah i have 2007 outlook so that wasnt thr problem. Still not sure what was wrong with it but after flashing a new rom all is well
I had the same trouble with win7. What i did after i tryed evrything i could think of was dowloading the latest active sync from Microsoft. Restarted and plugged the phone in and it worked
Ok I'll try make this as simple as possible for you all.
NOTE: The PS3 firnware HAS to be 3.41. No less and DO NOT install 3.42 as this blocks the ability to use these hacks.
NOTE: To enable playing of backed up games follow instructions in updated part of post 1.
Check post 1 for download link.
NOTE: Make sure PS3 is turned off at the mains or power switch for FAT models and the USB cable is unplugged!
Step 1 - Download
Step 2 - Extract the Android folder and place onto the root of your SD card.
Step 3 - Using Windows Mobile go to File Explorer and find the Android folder, then run CLRCAD.exe (NOTE: It will NOT appear to have done anything but it will have) then run HaReT.exe
Step 4 - You will see white text flying up the screen this normal, wait for it to finish and the Android lockscreen will appear. Unlock the phone so your on the homescreen. (NOTE: Make sure the phone doesnt go into standby and the screen stays on)
Step 5 - Plug the USB cable into your phone and PS3.
Step 6 - Turn the mains switch on for your PS3.
Step 7 - Press the power button and then press the eject button (NOTE: eject button must be pressed right after the power button!)
Step 8 - PS3 will take slightly longer to boot up, this is normal. Download Manager.pkg and put it onto the root of a external HDD (FAT32 filesystem only, NTFS is not supported by the PS3) or a USB stick.
Step 9 - Plug in your HDD/USB stick into the PS3 and go to the new folder under games menu called "Install Package File", open it and click X on the manager.pkg to install.
Step 10 - Enjoy!
NOTE: If you wish to rename the PSFreedom folder from Android so that you can use your normal Android build follow these steps:
Step 1 - Open startup.txt from within the Android folder (PSFreedom version)
Step 2 - Change set cmdline "" to set cmdline "rel_path=PSFreedom"
Step 3 - Rename the Android folder to PSFreedom.
***UPDATE***
To enable backup loading, download this:
http://www.multiupload.com/9LHKYKBA6W
Readme:
This package contains GScript Lite which has been modified by me.
Assuming your PSFreedom build folder is still named Android...
- Copy the Android folder to the root of your SD card, it will create a new folder in your Android folder on your SD card named AndroidApps.
- Boot Android.
- Enable internet connection (Either Wifi or 3G)
- In order to update PSFreedom, use GScript Lite program in Android and there will be an Update PSFreedom icon there. Keep running Update PSFreedom if all you see is a blue screen with "stderr" and nothing else. You should see the word PSFreedom pop up on the screen. Once that is done, then backups will be enabled.
The latest update will enable backup loading. Enjoy!

UPDATE: 22/09/2010
PSFreedom module updated to use latest payload with LV2 Peek and Poke support.
Either use GScript above and update the module or download the module yourself and push it yourself. Get the module from here: http://gamesquare.co.uk/psfreedom.ko
Enjoy!
Great work !! Will try later.
Thanks !
can be work on kaiser? with android on nand?
If someone could make a video on how exactly does the steps needed to be done , it would be wonderful.
Step 1 is clear.
Step 2 and Step 3 question - When do I need to plug the USB cable into PS3, before running haret or after that ? If I plug it after running haret , when exactly do I need to do this , cause haret starts immediately and turns off phone in about a minute ?
Step 4 is also clear.
Step 5 - when must I see the "PSFreedom gadget: Got disconnected" text ? After pressing the front button and eject button , or before that (after switching the back button on)
Step 6 and 7 also Clear.
Thanks for the answers in advanced !!!

Does the phone need to be connected to the PS3 all the time to enable PSFreedom to work or do you just do this once and that is it?

Can anyone explain what is this exactly ?

Android->WM without reboot

Hi,
i've got a question on the following:
You can start Android right from windows mobile. Is it possible to turn back to windows mobile without rebooting the device first?
Because now with the RAM-Builds its superfast to start Android, but sqitching back to Windows mobile ist horrible and sloooooow .
So is there something I didnt see until now?
PS: I normally use android only for gaming or other special things like apps etc thats why i'd like to switch back fast.

no you can't because the linux/haret is ment to shut down windows so android can boot, that's why a soft reset is needed to restart windows.
Can you soft reset from Android? or the only way is with the reset button? Thanks

[Q] Ubuntu on my home pc... flashing android from it

Hello,
Ive been on this site for some time now and have flashed countless roms from windows roms, sd android and now, of course, nand roms. I have always had windows on my home pc, but after the experience of going from windows to android, I started looking for something better for my home pc. I ended up wiping windows from my computer and installed Ubuntu, which is smooth, fast and I love it. However, one thing has me stumped. I cant figure out how to get the tools, ex. SYNC, installed on my computer. I am trying to use WINE to accomplish this... anyway, im not an expert, but if someone could just give me a little help, I would appreciate it!!!
I hope i opened this in the right place...
I dont think I need the SYNC program, but when I try to use the DFT flash program, ubuntu says it cant be opened... I dont want to use microsoft windows anymore... help me obi wan...
VirtualBox and install a Windows image. That should probably work.
Not sure about sync, but for flashing, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433

- Take any "RUU_signed.nbh" from a ship ROM and copy it to SD card.
- Rename it to "leoimg.nbh"
- Reset the device while pressing the volume down button.
Although you probably know about this already

Remix OS makes the Windows 10 error

Guys, i really need some help, my Windows 10 got some error on the UAC, making the new user, and opening the Edge browser. I can't add new user anymore, and the UAC won't turn on. When i click it, and then the pop-up to make the user account is gone. And then, i tried to install upgrading from the bootable usb, and when it's over, it was back to normal again, and when i try to open the Remix OS and shut it down, and then open the Windows 10 again, suddenly the error came back. So, any solution for this problem?

Unfortunately, RemixOS is no longer supported by their developers (even the RemixOS player), however it sounds like you're running into File System problems. I would suggest rebooting Windows into recovery mode (either through your firmware's boot menu or by holding shift while restarting Windows from the login screen), opening command prompt, and issuing a chkdsk /F /R for both a C: and D: (if you don't get anything on D: that's fine, I'm saying to do that drive too because sometimes your OS drive will get that letter under WinRE)
Another suggestion, try PheonixOS and Windows 10 instead, see if the same issue occurs.
You should also NEVER turn off UAC (I am assuming based on you saying that UAC won't turn back on, that you manually turned it off to install RemixOS) on a Windows 10 machine, it causes all sorts of issues with the UWP applications, including the built-in default ones. I know it can be annoying to say yes to every UAC prompt, but it saves you headaches like this later.

Thanks for responding my question. I'll try that.
No problem! Also, you can leave UAC on it's second to highest setting (Notify when I make changes) instead of fully-on, will reduce the amount of UAC popups you get. Hopefully cleaning the disk helps you.
