hi i want to root my htc t-mobile hero g2 touch so i can load custom roms and been following the guide but when i use the 2.73.405.5 update file it says no htc phone connected and i cant get it to sync with htc sync but i could yesterday so is there any other way to update to 2.73.405.5 without doing it through your pc
Use BTDAG's guide, follow it step by step and you should be fine. If you run into problems, post there. Someone will help.
There is no way of doing it without connection to pc/laptop as far as I know.

I just got this phone [HTC HD2 Tmobile USA] it's still completely stock and and would like eventually install Android either as NAND or SD but was wondering if this is possible with a Macbook Pro? I don't own a windows PC and neither do i have Windows setup as dual-boot on my MBP.
Much respect to all the XDA guru's and users out there! Glad to be a new member here!!

You need PC or dual boot to flash Magldr and Recovery unfortunately. I've got win7 loaded on my macbook pro just for flashing needs
dovla-sa is correct, however once you have magldr installed you can use CWM to flash new roms directly from phone. Can you use someone elses PC to flash magldr?
It may be possible to use WINE for mac to install magldr but I believe that this is potentially risky.
Thanks guys for the answers that helps a lot.
Looks like i will create a dual boot on my MBP.
Im trying to flash the Wildfire (buzz) ive turned the s-off and I have H-Boot 1.02.0001, i'm following a guide a found that says i need to flash RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_130814_signed but whenever i try, the program just keeps throwing me a USB connection error, can anyone enlighten me to what I need to do, or any other work arounds to get cyanogen running on my wildfire
I'm presuming you used AlphaRevX.
Use this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14693680
cant yet, still on hboot 1.02.0001
I was helping a friend fix their mytouch 4g because it was stuck on the first boot screen that says "Mytouch 4g" I tried flashing a stock rom through bootloader and after that it reached the mytouch logo screen and kept looping there then I tried a factory reset then the phone bricked itself. Now I cannot turn it on but when I connect it to my computer it shows QHSUSB_DLOAD in device manager. I have been trying to find the RUU exe to fix it but I cannot find it anywhere. What else can I do unless someone has the ruu?
No RUU will help you.
Google the name of the device you're getting, and you'll see the complexity of what needs to be done. This procedure was only finalized for Sensation. If you think you have enough technical knowledge to attempt it - good luck.
Otherwise - you have a true brick that you can't recover without JTAG.
So I have to use unbuntu and following this guide should fix it?
http://unlimited.io/qhsusbdload.htm
I do remember seeing guides that use unbuntu to fix this problem when I searched the name of the device as it is now. I will try that and hopefully it will fix it.
Yes, you should - but not blindly following. Remember that the guide deals with Sensation, so you have to adapt it for MT4G along the way, if possible at all.
well this will be interesting, hopefully I can find a similar guide but for the MT4G but how would I adapt to the MT4G with that guide?
You won't find a similar guide for MT4G, because nobody ever made one.
If you don't know what to adapt (if it's possible at all - I didn't check) - then look into JTAG repairs.
I just contacted a member of the brick movement that made the ubuntu guides for a few HTC phones and the mytouch 4g slide and he said that method won't work for this mytouch 4g. It seems to be a bad eMMC chip from what I have gathered because originally it was stuck on the white Mytouch4g screen and after a factory reset it just bricked which doesn't make sense why it would do that.
