Music playback - HTC Aria General

I have been experiencing music playback issues.
Music is very choppy, and cuts in and out randomly during a song. I have tried 3 different players
Stock media player
Mixzing
Winamp
Im running 6.1.1 with the Gingerbread theme by brswattt
8gb Class 4, with 500 mbs left on it.
any suggestions to what may be causing this?
Never had these issues.

Update:
I Set CPU back to 600, and let it get a full charge... no issues now. I think I am going to leave it at 600, 800 is not that much more noticable. I have also noticed that my battery has been getting hotter here lately.

its brswattt btw

I've noticed this too powerAMP & stock do it both usually when I first start a song no matter what cpu freq I use

I have not experienced any issues with music streaming using the stock player. I always use aria to stream music to my BT receiver in my car during my daily commute. I'm also on CM 6.1.1; but I'm not using the gingerbread theme.
I'm overclocked all the way to 864 (on demand); though I suspect CPU is above 600 only when I play angrybirds

Slow audio in Flash

Using the most recent leaked 2.2, and going to m.flash.com and playing one of those sites, CNET TV for example, the video plays fine, but the audio lags behind and seems to be playing at 1/4 speed.
Anyone see this or know of a solution?
Yeah I had that issue I switched back to a custom Rom to resolve it. Once there is a few I might try the ota again

SD card fail... storing mp3s and playback

So far loving the hell out of this thing... I take it everywhere with me. (seriously)
So I loaded up my 16GB micro sd card with about 8GB of music. Transformer reads it and adds everything to my library. I set it up to play in shuffle mode first song plays no problem... second song takes about 2 mins to load. 3rd song takes about 4 mins. I go over and skip a track takes 2 seconds to load. Next song again takes 2 mins to load. I give up and use my droid x to play the music.
posting at close to midnight didn't let me search the forum but similar threads there are none...
It Could Be the Class of SD Card. :x Idk but that sucks. I Copied a few gigs of music onto Internal SD and they play fine So it has to be something with Reading from the SD. hmm..
I take it this happens with the stock music player and with the screen off? It's a bug. A number of others myself included have had this happen and resolved it by using a different music player. I use UberMusic from the same Dev as LauncherPro and am happy to say I haven't had a single problem since making the switch.

+1.
Doesn't have too many features yet (still in alpha stage) but it still works very well.

+2, probably caused by Google's music player.
I also found the google music player to be somewhat unresponsive at times when switching tracks. Cant say anything conclusive though, since I didn't use it much. Installed PowerAMP straightaway and never went back (PowerAMP IMO has the best equalizer where the stock player has NONE!! ). Like others have said, it could be an issue with the stock player.

Safe minimum CPU limit

What's the highest minimum CPU limit, that doesn't drain battery or doesn't it really matter,as long as the maximum CPU is around 700
im running 710max scaling ondemand
another info:
in setcpu, i have created profile "screen off"
ondemand, 480 max, 122min.
it doesnt lag while listening to music and someone calls you.
Use lowest possible and 691 I've found to be safest. What rom you use?

I prefer not too high 710 is Good. Going lower than this will do but If you have an HTC Phone than you must trust the hardware.

I'd go for the lowest minimum and 710Mhz at maximum.
I'm on wildpuzzle v.08 running at 748 perfectly and 352 with screen off, without heavy use and charged overnight my battery lasts all day easily but if I use it a lot maybe 6 hours at most is all I'd get.

on my wildfire angry birds runs much smoother than on stock ROM. I can even play it with internet on (on stock rom the ads caused too much lag, i have shut them down with adfree now however but still)

What are your performance settings, thanks in advance
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
as for now:
CM7 version 7.0.2 (however i should perhaps upgrade to newer version)
overclock 710/245 MHz (smartass governor) (however it worked with 690 perfectly aswel)
other than that the standard settings when CM is installed. I just increased the VM heap size to 32 from 24, but haven't ran angry birds since then.
I find that angry birds runs smoother if there are no ads, therefor if you shut down your internet connection it might go faster. However, I use the app called "adfree" which blocks most ads, so I have adfree angry birds anyway Another way is to use juicedefender, it has an option that you can shut down internet when certain apps are running (so you can make it that there is no internet if you run angry birds etc)
Thanks my settings are pretty similar, can you explain what vm heap size is Thanks, very helpful!

VM Heap Size is the maximum memory an application can consume. More resource-intensive applications ( Angry Birds ) require more heap to run. 16-24M is usually enough.

sound stuttering issue

I have been using my X8 for over a month now. So far I have only one major issue that annoys me, which is the random stuttering of music playback. I tried Froyobread as well as GingerDX, both have the same issue.
The only *solution* so far is that to use the performance governor which locks the CPU clock freq. at 600MHz.
I did some google searching and saw that for Xperia X10 there is a patch to fix this similar problem. I wonder if there is one for our X8. Thanks!
I've noticed this for awhile and haven't found a fix it also happens when playing videos but I thought it was something to do with reading from the memory card cause it don't seem to happen when the music or video is getting streamed from the net but when you save it it will start happening again
Sent from my X8 using XDA Premium App
I use a Class 4 8GB card. I don't think it has anything to do with the memory card because if I set the CPU to full speed the issue is gone.
I went back to the stock 2.1 rom and now finally the music playback goes smoothly.
For this reason I will not try any other 2.2 or 2.3 rom again.
I had this problem before using froyobread. When i used gingerdx i formatted my card too and now the issue is gone. Btw im using a class 2 8gb card using mixzing playing 320kbps and flac files

got something to do with sd card read cache?
Same problem ive encounter on gingerdx but the performance using gingerdx is superb.

Maybe. But I never formatted my sd card and it has a LOT of songs in it. With stock 2.1 rom it is just a pleasure to enjoy the music. With FroyoBread or GingerDX the music playback is unusable.

Music Player in notification

Just had this issue start a few days ago. Anytime the music player goes to the ticker view it also gets put in the notification screen, right? And when you completely exit the music player, it should go out in the notification screen. Well, not so much for me. Lol... The music player will stay in the notification until a reboot, even if I go to running services and force stop the music player service. In logcat it is constantly updating the ticker music view, even if the player is not running. Anyone else have this?

I haven't noticed thus when I used the stock player but since then I bought the amp called power amp which is a huge improvement in terms of everything including sound quality so downloading another music player is an option if it bothers you

Not a big bother, other than its something constantly running in the background... But as often as I reboot shouldn't be a big deal. Besides, I'd miss the ticker music view. Just wondered if anyone else had it happen.

Yeah i dont have the ticker with power amp but I set it to be accessible from the lockscreen so I just hit the power button and can control my music, worst comes to worst if the problem bothers you that much its worth a try.
Also I checked to see if my stock music player did that and mine does not. So it could be the possibility that a mod is causing it and it's not the gingerbread rom. Also I have beats audio flashed so that could be another reason mine doesn't do it (most likely not). I would say it's most likely a mod
