Published a little LG Optimus 7 review - Optimus 7 General

Hi all,
i had a LG Optimus 7 Testdevice for 3 weeks and published a review about it:
http://smartphoneblogging.com/2010/12/review-lg-e900-optimus-7-windows-phone-7-hardware-impressions/
This is the first part about the hardware. The second part will follow soon and will focus on Windows Phone 7 OS.
Hope this is interesting for potential LG Optimus 7 customers, please let me know if there are any questions.
bye,

LG Optimus 2x Official MIUI support

Sadly now the LG optimus 2x has gotten official MIUI support and it's said to be out to the Optimus in about 2 weeks. While they get official support we need to stick with our ported version . (No offence Bmarko).
Anyway, good day to you sir!
Lmao at this thread.
Sell your sgsii and get an optimus 2x. Problem solved.

thank you for news !
I don't know why people crying here about this thread...

Optimus UI ported to Nexus 4?

Is this possible? I was thinking since the Optimus G is based on the same hardware, a ported rom might be possible. Any thoughts?
The question is: why? If you wanted that you could've just got an Optimus G

Not everyone has $600 to spend on a smart phone. If you can't answer the question, please don't respond. I'm simply asking just out of curiosity.

Nexus 4 is the same hardware with some variants of Optimus G, so it would be possible.
But software wise, LG Optimus G is still in 4.0.4, and people over there are actually porting Nexus 4 CM to Optimus G.
Porting LG Optimus G stock to Nexus 4 would mean having to settle with 4.0.4, not quite ideal. Making LG UI to work with 4.2.1 would be a major pain.
So... I think possible, but not likely that some devs will work on that (nor it should be done, people are more happy with AOSP/AOKP)

Optimus G is a lot more expensive. And having choices is good for every one. I do agree that AOSP is better, but I also believe in personal liberty.
Of course its possible, but I all depends on the dev if they want to try that project they will and they will share it. Most devs for nexus devices base there ROMs off aosp/stock android so don't expect it right away
Edit:safariking was working on this sort of thing you can contact him if you have a question http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015046&highlight=touchwiz. If you look at the comments he said he will make an lg ui.
I simply asked "why" because even if its possible, without a good reason no dev will work on it!

Well, I meant after LG released at least a 4.1 update. I wouldn't want to be stuck on ICS either.

The Optimus UI has some nice features that AOSP doesn't have. And it would just be a nice alternative to the 10+ AOSP/AOKP roms that will eventually be available.

[Q] Will Kikat 4.4 be released to Nexus 4?

As above.
I´m quite interrested to get an answer on that question.
Thanks!

You obviously don't understand the reason of buying a Nexus device. You buy a Nexus device not because of specs but because it runs pure Android and gets updated and supported straight from Google for years to come.
It is one of the sole reasons for owning a Nexus. If Kit-Kat were not to come to the N4 it would ruin everything that the Nexus line stood for.

Yes, GOOGLE NEXUS 4 will be the first device to get the kitkat 4.4 update, provided it is not released with/in Nexus 5.
Press thanks if I helped you. :good:

I have been a proud owner of my nexus 4 in many month, I know that the nexus would get all updates, but I read 10 Places that it onl y would be released for nexus 5 in october, and that's why I asked in here. Thanks!
No, only for Nexus S.
Logic says that KitKat will be first seen on Nexus 5 on release date, and after that we, nexus 4 owners, will receive it too.
Google would definitely want to show off KK on its new device first. Thats my guess.

Well that can be correct. No one knows what month it will be released in for the N4. I am sure it will be released first with the N5 and then to the N4 shortly after.
Heck, nothing has even been officially announced yet so no one knows what month anything is being released yet.

I voted :good:
They won't discontinue the nexus 4 and gnex at the same time

What was the reasoning for those statements by those 10 places? Bring a few examples, I want to see how they came up with that. I have heard the opposite, that kitkat will be built so that older and weaker devices could run it also, which is based on one sentence "It's our goal with Android KitKat to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody." - doesnt sound like "its our goal to make it exclusive for the next nexus".

[Q] Update for LG G2

hi guys i came from LG Optimus 2x section and as LG user i have a question in my mind that bother me to consider LG G2 as one of my choice, as some of you that doesn't know LG Optimus 2x only receive 2 updates in its era, in ICS we wait for almost 1 year to get it, as i understand its looks like 90% NVIDIAs fault because of its apple like rules, so LG Optimus 2x is dropped by LG and never look at it again
so my concern is, is LG will going to update/support LG G2 for at least 2 to 3 years and provide its sources, because it is Qualcomm i know its open source but its up to LG if they will release it. Are they provide on-time update or it will end up like LG Optimus 2x and other 2011 LG units?
my very concern is the update and sources needed by the developers
i know LG G2 is a superb phone and it is a phone that is complete package, another concern about camera shutter lag is it software that can be fix or hardware that cannot be fix?

The LG sources have been out for well over a month now, this isnt an issue, where the issue is is that there are several variants, off the top of my head I believe there are 7. 7! So yeah development is fragmented because of this. Also there are 3 camera Mods that take care of any issues you will have with the stock camera app. Theres not much else to say here. Everything else is subjective and opinion till we find out more.

Hopefully they learn from the Nexus about updates, nevertheless we have a solid Dev community to assist us if LG wants to abandon us, but its way too early to make those kind of judgements, we shall wait and see

CM11 works - but is buggy. Why don't you look through the obvious place - the CM thread in Original Development?
The G2 has been abandoned by the maintainer, it seems.
