The 225MB is the RAM. The 16GB figure is for the STORAGE. Your device seems to have a serious issue as it's reporting 0GB available storage. What in the hell did you load onto the thing?
Nothing Called Dell and there sending a new one, My Guess is corrupted memory card or No memory card

I recently purchased an I-mate JASJAR almost 2 weeks ago.I have rarely had to do soft resets(2 a day @ the most).Well i purchased a PNY SD 1gb card.I had a good amount of software on the card.This morning i wake up to the JASJAR asking me if i wanted to boot up in safe mode.I let the phone boot normally.I then attempted to connect the phone to the pc for active sync(newest version 4.1)nothing!!!Well alot of my applications that were stored on the card were showing me white blocks within the applications window.Then it tells me no card is inserted.I did the dreaded hard reset.The card is still not verified.Should i take the card back or what could cause this problem?Any help would be thankful.

This problem was fixed thanks to JORGEE who told me that i needed to re-format the card.All is well now
Hi all,
As the title explains, the counter in the camera (and video mode) shows incorrect amount of pics remaining.
I have about 3 gig of space left on the SD card but it only show haveing space for 190 pics. If i change storage location to main memory it shows space for over 400 pics with only 226meg.

Im using Topaz Essential 1.8.1 - maybe I need to soft reset my phone. I've got 12 gb free and it says I can take 80 photos.
Yesterday it said I could take 30,000 photos (or something like that).
this happen today with me, when i changed from a 4gb to a 8gb, almost 5gb free and only space for 94 pictures.

I also noticed the counter went down to 59 today (even though I didn't put anything new on the storage card).

Yesterday i notice that my card was showing more than 4000 pictures to take, today is showing again very few, must be a bug i noticed that this happens very often, sometimes is right others show wrong info, in my case soft reset doesn't solve it, the values exchange from right to wrong when i connect the device in Disk Drive, pretty odd, it's like one time is only considering the whole 8gb card and others TD2 only considers the card as 4gb+4gb.

i have my streak for a week, the 2nd day i got it i turned it off and went to the +/-vol + power screen to do a factory reset but i changed my mind and rebooted phone again, after that the 16GB card wasn't being detected anymore and even formating it didn't bring it to life again. In windows sometimes it showed up as a 30MB card but i couldn't even format it, some error about bad blocks.
So i used a 8GB card during the week and yesterday i bought a class 4 16GB card, it was working fine untill this morning when i tried to do update of the os, i went to the same screen but forgot to rename the file to update.pkg so i rebooted the phone again to rename it, but again when it came onto the os, same thing, it detects the card as blank but it can't format it... so i have now another broken sd card...
i did a factory reset while using the 8GB card so i dun think the problem is just cause of going to the black update.pkg thing screen...
anybody has had any 16GB faulty card?
what do u guys think? my streak hates 16GB cards and is faulty? or i am the proud owner of 2 faulty 16GB in a row (a class 2 and a class 4, both sandisk)?
My streak came with 16 gig card. Had no issues with it so far. I've put DJ STEVES Rom on as well.
btw, on both ocasions i had the phone connected to the usb cable and to the computer... could that be a cause?
maybe i'll just go buy another 16GB microsd card and play around with it to see if it happens again!
update: tested the card now with the program "active partition recovery" and it gives me an errors saying "bad signature in sector 0 on 86h" ... dunno what it means tho
ok, been trying a bunch of bad blocks recovery programs, mbr fix programs, etc, none works so i guess the card is unrecoverable and is really physically damaged...
just 2 questions before i decide if i buy a new card or send the phone back to shop (it'll hurt having to wait 2 or 3 weeks for a replacement streak)
i was only just using the cards inside the phone, and it even worked well as a usb storage device in windows when i connected the mobile on usb, only after i went to the recovery screen did this happened, (the 1st card failed after i went to the fastboot screen now that i remember correctly) do you think that any of these actions could have damaged the card?
and is it even possible for a normal streak to even damage the card beyond repair just by rebooting and trying to flash an update?
if that were the case, i guess loads of ppl would have same problem as me ...
other than that the mobile works flawlessly, hence my reluctance to send it back, plus the fact that it worked fine during this week with an 8GB card... but then again .. what are the odds of 2 cards failing one after the other in similar circunstances... sigh...

I feel your pain man. I just got mine yesterday from my local best buy. Within the first 6 hours it shut down randomly while idle. Had to connect it to a power supply and then reboot it to get it started again. On top of that, after the random shutdowns, the phone wouldn't recognize the sd card. It came up on error in the notifications. It gave the option to reformat it right in the streak but when you clicked on reformat...nothing happened. Could write to the card at all. No pictures, music...nothing. So I returned it the same day I bought it and exchanged it for another.
My replacement streak has been perfect (besides my noob experiment in flashing steve's froyo)!
I'm pretty sure it was a hardware issue. It sounds like you got a faulty streak as well. My advice would be to send it back...ask for expedited shipping or whatever it takes to get it back asap. These things are too expensive for them not to work as promised.

Have recently installed without issues WM7 on my HD2. Blows away the 6.5 junk that was on before.
I am getting memory issues though. I installed with the 2gb card that came with it - at first I could not even use to just send a text message so I swapped for another 2gb I had lying around and general use is now OK.
When trying to install any apps though from marketplace (I got code from MS) I hit memory issues straight away. I don't know how much of the 2gb is used for the build but I would have assumed the 2gb was fine.
Do I need a bigger card, is there a formatting I should do to the existing card, will all my settings be reset if I change cards?

WP7 Formats the SDCard at the very first Boot (turn on) so if you just swapped the SDCard without resetting (Settings>About>Reset Phone) the phone to defaults then it isn't formatted properly and isn't recognized
And if you did then check in the About Screen to see how much space you have left
indeed, many many SD cards have a nasty habbit of not working, so if you do a reset with the SD card in and WP still doesnt see more than 150~MB of free space then the card is a dud (for WP) although some folk have suggested limited success with formatting it with a digital camera before hand.

Weired and scared me... Is it because WP7 relies too heavily on SDCard I/O?(Take an example,if you put /var in a nand device,I belive the system will crash soon...) And perhaps that's why MS says you can only use a "certificated SDcard".

here guys, the SD thing is geting a bit old now, there are probably more threads on here for that then anything else
Its pure luck if you get a working one or not, nothing else too it im afraid, and dont let anyone tell you other wise
now, something that you might find intresting is this
Personally, my Card works 99% of the time, however some times it randomly crashes, but i can stop that happening by dumping music on it, now this is a guess but at least in my case the card appears to have "slow" sectors which do not work with WP, if i fill them with music it works no bother at all.
Try it, dump a few 100 meg of music on and see what happens, it might not help but perhaps for someone else like me it will help.

i don't know if i am solving your problem, but if you want to fix your other SD cards, all i did is download mini tool partition master or easus partition master (cant remember which one and formatted the broke SD card to fat 32 PRIMARY (not logical) and booted it with android..........took me 6 straight hours to figure that out one night. i had to format it a few times in a row to fix it.
