SGS Camera APK on Nexus S (for panoramic pictures) possible? - Nexus S General

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible (or if it has been done) to have the SGS camera apk run on an NS?
I would love to have the panoramic capabilities
e.g.

Cheers, Steve.

You can download & install the Photaf app & it will do the pretty much the same thing. I did this attached panorama shot with the Photaf app -seems to work just like in your YouTube video. I kinda rushed this example (thus the noticeably different sloppy shades), but if you take your time, you can make it look really good too.

Hi and thanks for taking the time to respond. I've tried that and its not bad at all ... but ... though not elegantly displayed in the clip, the sgs apk does it better and there are other features of the sgs apk that I would like.
Anyone?

+1
Plus I also noticed there is no way to zoom in the stock camera app for nexus S

Q: Can we port SenseUI/Galaxy S apps to the Nexus S?
Most likely, no. Those apps typically require the Rosie/Touchwiz framework in order to function. You can have those apps when and if a developer decides to port those ROMs in their entirety."

Cheers, I did read that however it is a tad ambiguous

This is a question for a specific item.
Fingers crossed, someone a lot cleverer than I feels the need for this & gives it a bash.
Ta.

Didn't that stop working once we moved from 2.1 to 2.2?
Which is another thing to take into consideration, since the US Galaxy S devices are stuck on 2.1 and we're on 2.3... might not be compatible, even if you could port it over without the TouchWiz framework.

Iphone OS

Recently a hacker successfully installed Android 1.5 on the Iphone 2G. Is the opposite possible? (Android running Iphone OS)

Only Apple knows how to do it. And they won't.
But in theory they could use ANY hardware. But they won't.
Why do you want to run IPhone OS on different hardware in the first place?
because we can?

Always the best reason
If you manage to get ouch-phone OS (if you where to translate "iPhone" phonetically to Swedish you'd get the equivalent to "ouch-phone") running on other hardware than the fruit company's own hardware I'd take my hat off...

same here
I'd like to see someone try! Even maybe an iPhone theme for Sense would be pretty cool, in an ironic way of course.
android is open source, so it's much more adjustable, therefore it's more "easy" to get it to work on the iphone, than the opposite.

yeah I also thought of that, but was kinda hoping it would somehow work.
I'm fairly sure it's possible, but I don't think it's possible to do it with full functionality.
well I would be happy if I can make and receive calls
Even if it is possible I am sure that the OS has a built in check to confirm it is running on their hardware.
I don't know if this counts, but...

It's as smooth as aHome?
I dunno, I've never used an iPhone. Just like the look of it.

Google Camera 5M >PATTERN< [Updated] Wooden

hello all
since i hated the noisy pattern in the 5M google camera. i have decided to replace it with a decent wooden pattern.
so if you hate that noisy pattern in the camera app just like me. then here's something better looking.
instructions:
using droidexplorer
1. first backup original CameraGoogle.apk from "system/app" . just a safety measure.
2. after backing it up. delete it.
3. copy the modified CameraGoogle.apk into "system/app".
that's all.
regards.
screenshot " the best i could get" ! it looks better in my hd2.

It's nice . Thanks man.
p/s: How about the transparent pattern like Sense UI ?^^
It was a quick mod. I will make sense like pattern tomorrow.

Nice man, thanks a bunch
Looks great. Thanks...
Much nicer! Thanks.
dude great mod , thanks
i made 2 variations of this nice idea.
just rename back in: CameraGoogle.apk before following the instructions mentioned above.
i didn't do a screenshot of the gaya-mod (well known customization-styleconcept for desktops featured on deviant-art [even from there is the orig.png file, not my own]). instead i attached the basic file, therefore you get an impression, how it looks like.
enjoy
by the way, I think, this thread belongs to general android themeing = )

to 26.0...

but then it force closes.

I was curious to see a "native theme" and to see if it asked for any Permissions when I went to install it.
It installed and I am able to select the theme and it even applied (pretty nice, even the icons are sans-backgrounds) but it's been showing as "Installing..." the entire time...

I did a Restart to see if that would kill the ongoing "Installing..." progress and that took care of it. I'll email the Developer and I figured I'd post my experience here, in case anyone ran into the same *issue.
It's a pretty slick looking theme, although the circuit board image is a bit too much for me. I like the clear icons and the Android-green throughout. I'll ditch the circuit board lock image, but it persists throughout (e.g. in the App Tray).
Some screen shots...
I'm one of the few that actually likes the mySense/TMO twist on Sense and while I've tried LP and ADW, I'm quite happy with stock. Standard issue just feels better sometimes.
I also realized some might not like the images posted inline, but I'm a fan of not having to click to open an image (unless it's got a thickbox wrapper).
I talked to the developer of this theme also (really nice guy)
He did an amazing job on it.
but the green is not my thing so i have been talking to him about how he was able to make it. (only one i have seen)
he said it has to be done by source so im looking into that.
i would love to start making themes for the my touch 4g.
i dont have the phone im just working on a port for the incredible and would like to make some themes for all the people using the port and would post them here also.

Sorry for previous post (now it's edited). I turned off image loading so i didn't see the image. Now i understand the question and no i never saw a g3 like this. I'm not sure if this is a real picture... look at the buttons... they are quite "strange"

I agree on that but the outside is all the same.... :/
could it be some indian version of the i5801?
http://www.priceindianow.com/samsung-i5801-galaxy-apollo-india-price/
that is a pre production model, those pictures were probably taken when they were doing a preview of the phone, before it was released to market.
Looks absolutely different. I can see Spare Parts, Java Me, Coverter, Dev Tools apps. These were not there when i bought the phone. Looks like a hybrid phone

Nope.
I have the Indian version......
Interface is definetly different..status bar, "touchwiz"....
And two homebuttons...maybe the one what we use as a home button isnt home button.
I dont get it, why isnt there normal touchwiz, we are using
Maybe it's chinese copy?
Its a prototype of the galaxy3...samsung decided to shed some of those buttons to make it look better and cut costs

[Help] Digital Clock widget from Galaxy Tab force closing!

I followed the steps from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18029320&postcount=2
to get the Galaxy Tab 10.1 weather widget working on my Acer. It's ok, fully functional!
But the Digital Clock widget, which I did the same way, is force closing every time I try to put it in the desktop. What I have to do?
Please, someone can help me to solve this?
Any idea??
Please, help to have that lovely digital clock widget working!

Try Beautiful Widgets. It's the price of a Happy Meal. No compatibility issues on The Acer.
Should get you close to the same thing, with the bonus of a LOT of downloadable skins.

In fact, I've tried it, but in my opinion, it's not as "beautiful" as the Samsung stock one... besides it's apparently slightly bigger than SGT.
Yeah, but. with the use of some good skins, it's similar.
Personally, I use "design my clock", mostly cause it's fun. And, I don't like all the visual effects. Only problem, it won't "tag" your locale.
If I get a chance this weekend, I'll take a look at your clock. See what's up with it.
Remember, some proprietary widgets, don't make good bedmates with other operating systems.

Geeze, how many ways does a person need to know what time it is...(moscow grumbles to himself)....
