give the douchebags time : http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/forum/186-google-nexus-s-general/

And it won't be 6.1. CM6=Android 2.2.
It will be CM 7.0 for 2.3
They have CM7.0 Beta (2.3) for the G2 right now.

Again, I repeat, there will be NO 6.1 for the Nexus S. 6.1 is based on Android 2.2. No one is wasting their time porting an older version over. It will be CM7. 7 is 2.3

Koush is the man! Good to hear that my NS is in good hands! Thanks for the info Ipasq!

Do you not understand still? Your Nexus S runs Android 2.3. It's much better than 2.2.
Again, It doesn't matter that CM6.1 is great or not, it's OLD! LOL. No need to wish for CM6 for the Nexus S.

CyanogenMOD 6.1=Based on Android 2.2
I liked it on my Nexus One, but you know what, it will NOT be ported over to Nexus S. It's a major downgrade in Android builds!!!!! Geez.
It's like saying you have a Bugatti Veyron and you want to put in your Turbo Civic engine in it. LOL!!!
And if you don't understand that analogy, Bugatti Veyron=Nexus S on Android 2.3, Turbo Civic=CM6.1 (cuz it's better than stock Civic Android 2.2).
What you want is CM7 which is a Jet Engine put into a Bugatti Veyron, now that will be awesome.

HTC Magic official ROM update with Sense Released... Anything new?

Anyone have a friend or family member with a Magic?
I'd be curious to see if there's any new features that could potentially be ported to our Hero.
http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/29/htc-magics-sense-update-ready-for-download
Looks like they have a pull port of Eclair as well. I bet we could steal their sense for our AOSP builds, problem with that IMHO: Most of the people running AOSP want Vanilla - The push to get it in and working would be minimal. Sense is sadly not as simple as installing an APK.

Why would you want to add Sense to an AOSP build? That's basically your stock ROM minus some of the crap apps crammed on there, which is already available.

Is an all AOSP Rom even possible?

I mean all the way AOSP? I miss the Roms that were available for my G1...I thought the SenseUI would be awesome to have, but seriously...it actually sucks.
Yeah. There's AOSP 1.6, and DarchDroid is based off of AOSP 2.1. Do a search next time....
an all asop rom is not fully possible yet, theres a few out there but the camera doesnt work and a few other things but thats because they cant fix that until the official 2.1 comes out then we will have our fully aosp, theres darch vanilla, and darch droid, but a few things are missing as i stated above, if you are like me and you want a fully functionable aosp rom just wait until this update comes out then my friend we score, i hate sense, it blows...............ive been waiting for this a long time....dont even bother with the old aosp roms i mean their good but not 100%

Here's the big answer to your question. All AOSP roms ARE possible. They just don't have all the functionality of Sense ROMs. DarchVanilla, or the link in my sig, will get you as close to aosp as you can get without breaking functionality.

And might I add it's all HTCs fault because they won't release the .29 kernel source and their massive amount of modification to it disallows the ability to just port over a .29 kernel as it is... What Android was all about in the first place.

According to CM's Twitter.
"CM6 targets: Nexus One, Droid, Dream, Magic, Desire, Evo, Slide "
Then he later tweeted
"Add HeroC to the list too "

Yea, a whole _xda-dev-team_ hehe
But I be it would be hard, different people have different aims/ devices..
I have a Hero and want it lean and fast..
Some others might prefer a balance or maybe all eye candy..
I hope Darch's froyo build is as lean and minimal as Darchdroid 2.7..

My guess is that Darch's FroYo build will be the exact same as DarchDroid, but just built on FroYo instead of Eclair. My guess is that Cyanogen's build will be the same as Darch's build.

Yes. DarchDroid is built from CyanogenMos 5.0.8.
If I understand correctly, Darchdroid is CyanogenMod 5 complied for Heroc. We won't have two AOSP ROMs unless Darch decides to make his own changes which didn't seem like his original goal.

I can't do it without source code so it'll probably be a month or so after Google's official announcement
The phone itself should have no problem running it in theory, however, the whole experience might (probably will) suck due to the lesser hardware in the Wildfire.
That is unless Google tweaked & performance tuned it and all its new features so that it does not require anything more powerful that the 2.2 does.

Jacob you're awesome!

Funniest comment on XDA. BTW ur awesome Jacob. I hope Google doesn't specify u need hardware out the wazoo and stuff. I think Google wouldn't be so evil and let Gingerbread run smoothly on low-end hardware.

Most official Wildfires still haven't got 2.2 yet so most like custom mods will be our only source for 2.3. I haven't seen much that is interesting in 2.3. As far as I can see it is going to bring updates that make android more tablet friendly.

No, but it's by no means impossible the first froyo custom ROM's where developed from the emulator images within the SDK so i wouldn't be surprised to see some limited functionality ROM's popping up in the next week or so

There are numerous stable builds of Gingerbread around this section, what are you waiting for?! Battery Life is also very acceptable on CM7 builds, much better than it was on CM6.
Just been looking at the Honeycomb emulator and it looks great, but I don't think it's built with the smartphone in mind.
Regards.
but I thought it is only for tablet. Will we lose our fone function?
this would be too awesome, seems to be cyanogenmod8 is in production, tablets have fone function as well ... so it wont loose any !
+1 it would be really gr8 if someone do us this favor and develops a 3.0 ROM. That would be really awesome.
first of all, sdk's never give a good rom, and second this is just a preview
Ran it on my emulator. Pretty sweet. Though Honeycomb would be much worse since it's for the tablet freaks but looks pretty nice
who is hAve here a link rom honeycomb for dhd ?
