[Q] Lock animation from gingerbread to streak? - Streak 5 General

I am a very new owner of a contracted Dell Streak ($100 buck from bestbuy). Actually I havent even opened the box of my streak (waiting for my commuter case to come in). I have been researching pretty much everything about the streak in terms of roms, rooting, flashing etc.
Back to the topic, does Dj_Steves 1.5.1 offer the lock animation?
(since im a new user I can not post a link to youtube so just type youtube . c o m and paste this /watch?v=MWoQxZs2-Lc
If not does anyone have a working rom for it or know any development for it?

the anim isnt in 1.5.1 yet still trying to work out how to get it going

Not Android Development
Moving to General

(THINKTANK)MIUI Port for the HD2 (9/22/2010)

Hey all. I'm new to the HD2 but not to android. I'm sure you've all seen the MIUI rom for desire and nexus. (if you haven't go here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Or-9T44Bt7M&feature=player_embedded
To clarify :"It appears that the ROM has been mostly custom built using only the base from Android 2.2 and then building an exceptional interface on top that could beat anything else that currently exists.
From full FM radio support to completely customizable home screens, dedicated buttons on the lock screen that take you to the SMS app and the phone dialer."
Since its fore the desire/nexus, It should be an easy port to the HD2, I just need halp
I'm sure most of us would love to see this implemented on the HD2. I thought I could do it myself, but I've tried and failed. Below are two links. One for the full rom and the other is a link to the system.ext2 image I made from the /system folder of the ROM. I've tried a couple of different kernel combinations and still can't get it to boot (replaced the system.ext2 in shubcraft with the one I made and it just reboots). I don't yet know enough about android on the hd2 to get this working myself. So I figured I'd start a thread and see where we can get.

Seems like the hd2 has quite the community following. I'm looking forward to working with you guys
UPDATE: 9-24-2010 : We do have a working test build that is being given out to a few folks. No ETA on a alpha or beta release. Hopefully this weekend. I'm tonight and tomorrow so I'll squeeze in some android time when I can. SARCASTILLO (guy who made hyperdroid) gets the credit for getting this thing booting. To see what we have in action go here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7x_6cuHM8g
Hey there biff, did you finally trade in the slide for an HD2? If so, im glad to see you over here now.
P.S. The music in the video makes me want to run up a big flight of stairs and air punch at the top.
i love the idea of "endles" possibilities when it comes to UI for a single phone and i hope you are succesful in porting this for HD2, but i HAVE to say
iOS UI on Android? YUCK *puke*

Nice to hear that ! We always lack people like you, however the few Hd2 build developers have magic hands.
Maybe you already know that, but I suggest you to contact them directly for this great project because Hd2 is a very popular phone, so this forum is 99.9% populated by end-users. At the begining kernel developers tried to work into xda forums, but deserted for the Htc-linux Irc because of noise.
This would be so awesome!!!! DEVS, plz plz plz look at this !!
personally i'd love to see this ported! would be something... different!
I'm looking forward to it too. Looks interesting.

It looks nothing like the iOs nor IphoneOS nor firmware 4.0. Some people are here just to make a crowd. Anyway, to the OP, this is great. try to contact DarkSt0ne, Mattc, Dan1j3l. they could help. or, on twitter, contact the htc_linux guys. Hope you can make it and if you base it on the new Desire HD Rom, and include some other languages like japanese, your rom will be one of the greatest. Thank you and good luck

wifi works and the ui is iOs-ish
some of the pop-ups and menus are in chinese so I'm not sure what I'm doing sometimes...
will post something as soon as I get the signal working. and camera... and etc....

Although I agree the bootup animation is from older versions of Android, It's clearly 2.x+ as shown at 1:20 by the lwp, phone app instead of dialer, and a few other apps in the drawer.

yes.. I had a cappy and loved the color. If someone knows where those graphic files are i can easily unpack the apk, and cut and paste the graphics from the cappy froyo... but i haven't had time to look and i figure someone could save me the trouble.

you try rogers 339? I was on it for a few days and it was a great 2.2.1 build. I was able to easily root it as well with soc... If i go off of 345 I would go back to 339.
Since I'm not fully migrated back to 319 I may try that...were you able to do nandroid backups?

Maybe thinking before speaking would be a start
there will be gingerbread, its coming.
Krad rather than just rearranging files, why not start actually creating your own rom from scratch. Source code is there it just needs work.

I got a full time job and two young kids. My "roms" are what I make for myself... I just share what I got.
If I was 14 or had a crap job where I could put 30+ hours to source, I probably would have.
I am content with making adjustments to stock roms

fards,
First, I really appreciate what you've done to make our Streaks performing better, as the likes of DJ_Steve, Krad, Spidla, and others. Your dedication to the dev of this great device has been invaluable. I did think before posting my comment. I know there have been communications around gingerbread coming to Dell Streak during the winter and that the source code had been posted which DJ_Steve had utilized in this ROM, but having said that there is no definitive answer to this question until the update is pushed out to us. If you read my comment you will notice that I stated that I don't think that there will be an official GB build. I hope that we get it, obviously, I'm just "don't believe it til I see it" kind of guy.
I would like to state again that I really respect your work and hope you will see the slight difference in the point I was making.

Can you post a link to that? Cause if you can't it might be because it's a closed beta that the dev has not released yet. So telling people to install something that isn't available isn't very useful.

Gee - that's my point. So why do people keep suggesting the Streakdroid betas as a fix to various problems?
I would recommend the version of Ice Cream Sandwich my Streak is running but i would get kicked out of the testing program. But it works really well, you should see the beta version of Google space maps it includes and it will stream music from any source within 50 miles in stealth mode!
