Just a quick question regarding the camera on the streak running dj steves froyo.
Before I wipe & reflash does anyone elses flash work, I`m running 1.5.1 and the camera seems worse but the flash does not work at all even if selected on.
Just curious.
Cheers

Just tested - works on both auto and on settings. Running 1.5.1 as well. could install led light from market to see if the flash even responds?
Cheers, I really should of thought of that first and no it looks like the LEDs don't work. Weird, never used the flash but was playing & noticed it was dead.
Will reflash & wipe out of habit though.

I am currently using cm6 from trip and switching to blue spark. Is there any way to get the stock camera working so I can use barcode scanner.
Sent from my xperia using XDA App
Camera works in blue sparks, as for cm6 because the bootloader is locked they cant flash a custom kernel so the camera will never be 100% working

free x10 is very stable, but once installed you will not want anything!
I have FreeX10, and it's great, however, yes, while the camera does work, for some reason it does not work with barcode scanners...
Yeah I just flashed over to freex10 and themed it with green glow and installed cm settings. I did get my flash back so that is nice but the barcode scanner will just have to wait.

Scanlife Barcode works. There's also a working video recorder, videocam illusion.... nd vignette is a good cam... these things make 2. 2. 1 pretty much complete

Wondering if its worth the trouble to upgrade....thoughts?
Only can tell you about my setup. I upgraded to 351 than re-installed 1.9.0 over it. So now I have 351 baseband running 1.9.0 and my Streak is just screaming......

1.9.0 has been very stable for me so far. Everything is working perfectly and much much faster than 351 or any official rom.
Been on streakdroid 1.9.0 since release and as always, running strong!
But I was messing around with files that i shouldn't have been which caused a bunch of apps to crash so i flashed 351 with streakdroid 1.9.0 over it. No issues at all
I was having random reboots, force closes and general lags on 1.9 so went back to 345, then 351 and haven't looked back. My phones had 8 days since the last reboot and still going strong.

Were you using perfmod in your install.txt? I think that's coded to work with only a certain build base rom. Back when I used perfmod, I would randomly get fc's and reboots. But everything is all good now without perfmod.

I have DJ Steves 1.9.0 on 351 and have perfmod install but I dont get any FC's.
what do you mean by stable? I've never had any instability issues on my streak, had 318 originally and now on 351.

I don't see the point of it without perfmod, all the bloat can be removed using other software leaving a nice clean device. I was using 318 with 1.9.0 over it, then had to send it back to Dell where they completely wiped it and sent it back, but since then i haven't touched DJSteve's ROMs and am finding my phone a joy to use as the latest 351 ROM is fast and stable.
The only reason I would start messing with cooked ROMs again now is if gingerbread or cyanogenmod appeared!
That said, all DJSteve's work is very much appreciated.
Perfmod is generally unstable, it's usually recommended against unless you're willing to put up with it's unstableness
1.9.0 is still 2x faster in quadrant over 351 even without perfmod

For me, Stability > Speed. I've not rebooted my phone for nearly 11 days now and its still smooth as butter!
My phone rebooted about 10 minutes after flashing. it hasnt since. I'll take the speed and stability.

Anyone else settling with this rom and setup or is anyone smashing this setup with your own concoction?

I don't think hardly anyone is that far out of date buddy...
Most people here are running StreakDroid 1.9, and the 351 or 354 baseband
SEARCH
Your post begs the question why?
I will admit that for the longest time I was on DJ Steve's modified 318 baseband because he modified it just for StreakDroid, but then I started to have wifi disconnection problems. When I flashed to 351 and now on 354, those issues have vanished, both for WiFi and HSPA connections, I never get disconnected...
And as far as getting away from stock ROM, well I shouldn't even have to answer that one....

I understand you, you and I using about the same setup. I was asking the question to needspractice. The one asking who is continuing to update 318.
Well when I updated to 351 I lost the ability to add a new google contact from my phone. I have no idea how that happened by the way. Plus there was no performance fix for stock roms after 318. I like the stock roms but with just a little added kick. It seams like most of the highly modified roms are to unstable. I have not tried the wireless hotspots yet but if that is an issue when I need it I will be very displead. I will have to redo my whole phone setup. I just got it exactely where I want it. I can do a nano backup; create google contacts from phone, have decent quandrent scores and and my phone runs smooth without Dell Activity Stage force closeing 24/7.

I am. I tried all new roms and found that 318 & perfmod is the best for me. Fastest and no problems at all.
I guess I 'm "old fashioned" considering the other answers.
Ok, understand the concerns with unstability, however I have been running 1.9.0 using Perfmod with 353 BaseBand (latest AT&T) with zero issues. Most stable of them all, can and do pretty much whatever I want with it. Went 2.0.0, but rebooting drove me crazy, went back to 1.9.0 and not regretting it.
Does your notification bar always have the triangle update icon on it? Or do you know of a way to get emlist on the 318 setup? I know there use to a phone code you could punch in to get it loaded.

I always have the update available triangle but I don't care. I can live with it.
The camera using Goggles on my X5 appears as normal but as soon as I take a picture and it analyses it will be flipped. How can I fix this?
I am using the latest version of Oxygen and franco's kernel.
I don't use googles, but I have the same problem with paper camera. Camera works fine and some other camera apps, but on paper camera the display is upside down. I have this on all(miui, cm7, oxygen) roms.
But when I updated to official 2.3 beta, this problem solved. So I think that it' s because all roms don't use the camera libs for X5. Now that official 2.3 is out, soon these problems will solved and on custom roms.
I too have the upside down issues on Oxygen 2.3.2.
After a couple uses of Goggles, my phone crashes something fierce, if I try to launch Goggles again, crash.
I either uninstall - bye bye Goggles
or
clear cache - however after a couple more uses, same issue.
Guess we wait.

Is there any code I can use to get a log of my internet data usage?
Thanks

Its happening with the stock rom (2.1) too... (using goggles)

Just update to 2.3, all ROM's which have this problem is because they have pulled device binaries and libraries from the 2.2 Stock ROM.

I prefer net.rgruet.android.g3watchdog. It monitors mobile data usage, blocks after a specified limit (with 3rd party app), on latest update it can even monitor wifi usage... (free)
PS. your post is irrelevant with the thread, and now so is mine
I'm currently on my third Epic and thought I finally got one that wouldn't give me issues (The first kept locking up, the second didn't have a working proximity sensor) but the third turned out to have some crazy GPS issues.
GPS would randomly turn off and say it was trying to connect and stay that way. Even in crystal clear skys when not moving, the GPS would just not work. Sometimes it would work only to lose connection a few minutes later.
I took it into the Sprint store and the only thing they could do for me was just flash the phone back to 2.2.
Is this purely the Gingerbread update not working (when it comes to GPS) or have other people experienced no problems with GPS on stock gingerbread?
Basically I'm debating whether I should call customer service and complain until I get a new one, try the gingerbread update again and hope it works this time, or root and hope the GPS works as well.
Any help is well appreciated.

The GPS is very wonky on the ei22 update... I would root and flash a different rom. All of the roms have the gps fix... if you would like to stay stock there is a gps fix floating around somewhere that you can flash over stock rooted ei22

No need if you have root permissions go into es file manager ( if you have it if not get it) go into your favorites and open the / or the phone icon go to the system file then find the vendor file then go to the bin file and hold the gpsd file there and go into its properties and check this:
X O X
X O X
Make sure your checks look like that

That is not his problem. Stock EI22 has the half ass library files resulting in lock ups and very few locks. He needs to flash a custom ROM or just deodexed stock and the GPS fix containing the good library files.

As no one was linking you to the fix there you go. And if I remember correctly I ran this on stock odexed rom just fine for a while. No need to get a deodex rom just get clockwork mod and flash it.

I think that was the one I used but since I have it saved with a different filename I figured I'd upload mine as it definitely worked on a stock EI22.
