I've got a UK VPN account, but can't connect to it from my Galaxy Tab via 3G mobile internet. I've tried all different types of connections, unchecking and checking encryption, etc, but can't do it.
The error message I get is "unable to log on due to incorrect password or username. Retry?"
But I know for sure that I've put in the correct name and pword. I also know that my VPN account works since I've tested on my laptop, using 3G USB stick with same SIM card that I try in Galaxy Tab.......and it works fine. So everything points to the Galaxy Tab.
Can anyone offer advice?
Thanks

OK so after having problems connecting my XDA2s to my laptop via wifi to use it's ADSL connection, I began to realise it was a major issue for a lot of users.
Having covered almost all the threads here regarding PPC WiFi issues, I still am perplexed as to how the whole thing is successfully set up.
I concluded that it was virtually impossible; that the PC would not provide the PPC with an IP address so I would have to use some sort of application to manage the connection. However, yesterday for some reason only the omnipotent holy deities of the grandiose gods of WiFi would know, I had it working perfectly. For about 10 minutes, until I decided to disconnect to see if I could readily re-connect. My hopes were of course, dashed, and I have not had it working again since.
I have tried every combination of settings on both the laptop and the XDA to no avail, and have followed more threads and links than I can count on my fingers and toes. I've tried all the same settings I had when it was working (briefly) but still have no real success.
So basically, what's the deal with getting this damn thing working? Maybe what I need is a step by step idiot's guide on how to initially set up the wireless network on the laptop first, to make sure it has all the right settings? I'm using a Vaio running XP home (built in WiFi).
Has anyone completely resolved this problem yet? I would really like a solid, clean method of setting up the connection rather than stumbling through a million different combinations of settings and ending up with something hashed and unstable.
Many thanks for any help on this, I'm sure it's a tiresome subject for many.
......And as is always the case, as soon as you post about it you figure it out!
If anyone is still having trouble using their XDA2 to connect to a PC's ADSL via WiFi, ive got it figured!
RE: ive got it figured!
PLEASE HOW? I HAVE ALSO THE SAME PROBLEM HERE
THANKS
Me too. I have a XDA mini S.
I don't know what settings to put into the thing. I had it connected for a short while but when I went into internet explorer it started connecting to GPRS instead of WIFI to internet.
Clearly I haven't got a clue. The book is of no help either.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Think i'm connected to the internet. It doesm't seem to want a password although one is listed listed in the router. Just can't stop it going over GPRS instead of the wifi for intenet????
problem solved
Hi All
Ok heres what I did .
Connections
under my work network
set ,set up my proxy server to "this network connects to the Internet.
Then go to advanced
Under select networrks ,Network management,Set both to "my work network"
Network Card
Network adapters
"My network card connects to work
Then select the network card ie sandisk
tick Use specific ip address
type in 1 thats on your network ,It will connect but you wont be able to browse still
Then soft reboot
change from use ip adress to "server assigned ip address"
soft reboot
and bingo
I am new to PDA use. Everything has been going fine, up to the WiFi connection . So far, the WiFi has been hit or miss. The SanDisk WiFi/128MB card has worked well when it connects with my QWest Actiontec GT704-WG DSL modem. I think I read some where that this may be due to the SanDisk being 8.11b. One thing that has me at a bit of a loss is why I have not been able to login to my hotmail account. It kicks back a page not found error. This also happens at some of my other secure accounts, as well as my outlook e-mail, which is just an extension of the hotmail, since my ISP is MSN. I did confirm my password and user ID.
Getting back to the WiFi card, I must remove it when in hotsync, as the PDA will use the PC connection to the internet. When I plug the WiFi card back in, sometimes it just stays dead, or a message comes up that says the card is not recognized, please enter the appropriate driver. The entry field is always filled in with "Network card in slot 1". I always just accept this entry, unplug and re-plug in the card, and then it works (usually). MSN has been no help, as well as QWest, since their contracted help has no idea about PPC 2003.
Sure would appreciate some help if anyone has had similar problems, as the 2003 MSN online help is pretty general.
Thanks,
John
Hi
I just bought a new asus transformer but I cant use my google account on it. when I try to add a new accoutn it says "Can't establish a reliable connection to the server"
Please help!
Thanks
1. You made sure WiFi is turned on, right? Just thought I would ask in case you missed it, there are some who might miss an obvious thing like that .
2. Do you have 2-factor authentication enabled for your Google account? If so you'll need to create a one-time password to login with instead of your regular password.
Hi
We have the same devices
I have tried doing that but I need google authenticator on the tablet and I cant download it from the market because I cant login
Am I missing something?
Thanks
OK
I managed to turn on 2 step verification and generate a password but when i try to add my account using that password it still does not work...
on my samsung galaxy s it took 2 seconds to authenticate...
What version of Honeycomb are you running? Perhaps updating to the latest version might help if you don't already have it? Also have you made sure you're close enough to your router to get a decent signal? Have you got any kind of internet access via WiFi at all on your TF (try opening a web page)? If not it might be a problem with the TF's WiFi, or you could just try again later in case it's a Google issue. Also when you said your SGS connected in just a couple of seconds was it connected to the same WiFi network as the TF, or did it connect over your mobile signal?
[EDIT]: Did you tweak the WiFi network settings on your TF at all? You didn't try to set a manual IP address, did you?

Bro, even I had the same problem when I installed it on my N4.
I had even mailed about the problem to the support section of Whatsapp, but they didn't responded.
So I switched to "VIBER" along with my friends.
whatsapp
I amongst many, with the same issue if you do a google search re whatsapp issue.
Not only can I not connect, but I did finally overcome that issue by downloading the newer version.
The other issue I experience with whatsapp is the delay in receiving messages. It seems the push service, is not running properly.
All this I have experienced since the update of Android 422.

If you can connect to other applications on your data network, but not WhatsApp, it could be that your mobile provider has configured your wireless access points to block certain chat applications. Try this if WhatsApp still will not work on data only:
Contact your mobile provider and ask them about different access point settings to run chat apps.
They will guide you through a process in which you will manually configure your data network and web settings.
Go to access point settings (APNs) and select TATA DOCOMO INTERNET apn or which ever service provider you use select Internet apn , your whatsapp will work.

Is there a way to find a error log on the Note 3? Having an issue at work where the device wont pull email down while connected to our network, if I use cellular or our Guest Network it works fine. I'm guessing something is blocking the email check, but I have no way of knowing what it is.

I read somewhere that it could be the router firewall can block it
