restoring contacts from xbackup..need help please

Hi guys,
I am a BA owner..and so I try to help a friend with a magician..but "playing" with it I erased the outlook contacts while sincronicyng So I get the .stg file to restore on device the database and after to sync to PC.. it restore all BUT contacts..activesync say is in use! So I deleted IA_contacts from startup folder, nothing! I even tryed with STW viewer..I can see the contacts but no way to restore on device... HELP :shock: :? how can I restore my contacts? Thanks in advance

Solved with Vault...but still I dont understand why xbackup sucks...

Xbackup for jasjar

Hello,
i want to ask guys if its possible to install xbackup on jasjar,
cuz i backed up my i-mate jam on SD card, and sold it. now i want to restore the data on the jasajr, but there's no xbackup to read the "CompactFlashBackUpPim" file
can u help me in this?

Sorry cant help you on xbackup, but try Sunnysoft Backup Manager. Earlier versions were a bit iffy but this one seams to work OK.

i got a new iMate sp5m but the problem is tht i sold off my iMate jam with which i had taken my contacts backup through x backup and now since the sp5m doesnt have a restore option nor does it have x backup how do i open the file compactflashbackuppim since it doesnt have any extension and how do i open it/import its contents in outlook or is there any other procedure ?

could anyone help me with a solution or a link regarding this..??

The only way i could think of is, take your friend' device that has xBackup and restore yours. Syncronize to outlook on pc and export it out!
If you have no personal contacts or dont mind me checking them, mail your backup file to me and i will try to do it for ya when free..

Well thanks for the help offered..but i got it sorted out by taking a friends 02 mini and getting it to sync my file with outlook and then got the data on my new phone..

trouble in reading back up file
My I-mate pocket PC got damaged but i managed to copy backup file. How to open and look at all those contacts saved in backup file. The file is compactflashbackuppim

PimBackup Problem ..... PLEASE HELP !!!

i am anew user of windows mobile devices & Pocket PC's !!
i had a sound problem with my device and i was told to make a hard reset to the devise ....
and before the hard reset i did a backup to my contacs with PimBackup v2.8 !!
and after the hard reset i tried to restore my contacs back but it didn't work and the device give me this massege during the restoring :
A problem has occures with PPCPimBackup2.8.exe.
Please tell Microsoft about this Problem, at no cost to you ...........
and i tried another file of the 2.8 version and tried the 2.5 version and made another hard reset and tried the three again and the same problem !!!!!!
PLZ HELP !!!!

I've attached a version of the software which works fine on my TP2. So long as you have the original back-up file you should be okay. If it doesn't work with this version it is probably the back-up file which is corrupt and causing the program to fail.
As an alternative did you sync your device with your pc/laptop before you hard re-set? If so another sync should re-establish your contacts from Outlook. (Although you might want to back Outlook up first in case the sync wipes those out in error too!).

That´s impossible but you can make backup with sw like SPB Backup, program backup complete settings with programs, registry entry ....
Than hard reset and run backup file, its exe....
For Contacts, download PPCPimBackup from here

Thx czdjj,and of course i alway do like this_i back up my phone with spb back up before hard reset,...but the problem is after i back up all error are come back,and I also use Microsoft my phone for contact and sms backup.,,..However still thank you and Gthik.....

OK, if you have problem in current rom and make backup, there is backuped with errors :-(((
So , no idea, how to ... only HR and make all settings and then backup...
