[Q] I think I killed my phone - Help please? - Nexus S General

Hi all,
I tried rooting my Nexus S and now it only roots into Clockwork Recovery. I am completely new to rooting but I am sure that there must be a way to restore factory settings to the phone if it will boot to something and is not bricked.
At this point if I could just replace everything on the phone with whatever comes stock to include the system image and recovery image I would be ecstatic. If someone could help me with step by step instructions to make this happen I would be extremely appreciative.
EDIT: The top of the screen says in red: FASTBOOT MODE - NO BOOT OR RECOVERY IMG

There's currently no way to flash back to stock recovery, but it will come in time.
When you're in Clockwork recovery and select reboot system it ends up back in Clockwork?
What if you power off the phone, then hold up volume rocker and turn on power, then once in fastboot select reboot? What happens then?

[Q] Evo 4G stuck in recovery

So I'm kinda new at this, I was attempting to remove root and by a stupid rookie mistake decided to format system, and even stupider, format boot.
now when i power on my phone, i get the white "HTC EVO 4G" Screen, but then it goes into fastboot and just chills there. I can boot into the bootloader screen by holding VOLDOWN when I power up, but even after trying to install roms from there it fails.
Did I brick my phone, or can someone fix it..
Wrong forum... That said how are you installing roms from boot loader? they need to be installed from recovery. Which recovery do you have installed and can you boot into it? I'm assuming you are since you say you are installing ROMs.
Sent from my Evo with Miui
My bad, I wasn't sure..
But I have clockwork recovery mod 2.6.0.1
I guess I wasn't clear though, I'm trying to do it from recovery, but my bootloader is.. odd? I'm not sure. When I power on regularly it goes into fastboot with the options
-bootloader
-reboot
-reboot bootloader
-power down
and yes, I can boot into clockwork recovery
also is there anywhere anyone knows of that i can get a .sbf file for it? A friend said thats what i need
All you need to do is boot in to recovery, wipe data, and flash any rom. You formatted the system and boot partitions so there is nothing for the phone to boot up and that's why it keeps going to the bootloader.
Is it safe to assume you don't have a backup on your sdcard?
You are not bricked. Bricked is a phone does not power on or do anything at all. Ur phone is fixable.

Cannot access recovery

I really hope someone can help me out. I think I bricked my phone.
I tried to recover my phone back to stock with stock recovery so I can send it in for repair. When I installed 2.3.4 OTA update through zip, I accidentally clicked yes for updating 2.3.6. I didn't know, went to washroom and my phone won't boot. I thought no worries I'll install the zip again. Going into recovery, there's an android picture with an exclamation mark. I can't boot into phone and cannot load recovery. Someone please help >_<
download CWM and try to flash it through fastboot, and use that to flash a new img. im assuming you've done this before, having a custom recovery before now. if not, make sure you have fastboot setup, and if you don't go look through a rooting guide how to set it up then once you have it set up, move the new recovery you downloaded to the same folder as fastboot, then type
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery
of course replace the name_of_recovery with the exact filename of the recovery you downloaded. you can get the ClockworkMod recovery I think at www.clockworkmod.com
then boot into the new recovery and go to Mounts and Storage and Mount USB, and take the update.zip that you have and load it onto your SD Card, then go into the recovery and do as you would to flash the zip
Problem is, I don't think usb debugged was enabled. I tried to lock bootloader so I can just take it back to my carrier and say phone is screwed up, but when I tried, it said device not found.
The only way I think is using odin.

Stuck in CWM help please :)

Ok i was restoring from a backup and now after telling the tablet to reboot from recovery it just loops right back to recovery. I do get something that says ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix? THIS CAN NOT BE UNDONE. ?? hmm Anybody know how I can get out of this? Can I push stock image through adb if I am stuck in CWM? Oh by the way if I try to get into bootloader mode it just goes back to CWM. Try holding the power button for a while it goes to CWM. Stuck in bootloop :(

I have unlocked bootloader, flash modified boot.img and recovery but when I boot the device I get 'Your device is corrupt and may not work properly' I then get stuck on the google boot screen. When I go into TWRP recovery it cannot mount anything so I cannot even perform a factory reset.
Please help
did you make a back up?
I didn't unfortunately, I can get into recovery and as long as I leave it as 'Read-Only' it seems to mount everything. I think I need to get a stock image.
Resolved - used a Toolkit to go completely back to stock, kind of scared to try again now.
Follow directions and that won't happen again. Make sure you are on the correct version MDB08K BEFORE you start (you have the OTA), format not wipe in TWRP and you won't get caught in the boot loop.
Failing to do those two things will put you in a boot loop.
What toolkit did you use because i myself have this issue with my nexus 6p

That warning is normal, and should be ignored if you want unlocked bootloader, custom ROMs, etc.
Here TWRP couldn't mount because you forgot to decrypt after flashing the modified boot.img.
If you have further issues, let me know.
A quick advise - Avoid toolkits. They are handy and easy, but if something goes wrong, it will be hard to track down the cause. On the contrary, doing thing manually, will not only make it easy, but will also help you learn more about your Android, and how it works.

Cant boot into TWRP

Hello, ive unlocked my bootloader on my h870 and ive flashed twrp. when ive just flashed it i was able to boot into twrp but now everytime i try to boot into it it wil wipe all my data with the stock lg recovery mode can someoneone please help me? Thanks! Just got the phone a few hours ago
You have to install a custom rom or root to make twrp permanent, if you don't do that it will install always after the first boot the stock recovery.

You need to reflash twrp with the bootloader like the first time.

When you have flashed twrp, you do the buton combination to enter twrp, if you fail to enter twrp a the phone boots into system the stock recovery will be reflashed so you have to reflash twrp.
Try making these:
When you are in the bootloader after flashing twrp press button down+ power button. When the screen turns off quickly stop pressing power button and quickly press again until the lg logo appear.
When the lg logo appear stop pressing power button, quickly press again and stop pressing the power button and press again quickly until you see twrp logo.
These method works for me for booting twrp easily
The stock recovery appears but you have to select the factory reset option and it will boot into TWRP

Unfortunately still not succeeded after trying all the solutions i've found here
Hey, i have the same Problem, my TWRP broke, i can't boot into recovery and my Device ist not listed in fastboot mode. Can someone help me out?
I get the ring in windows when i plugin but its not recognizing.. Can someone pls help me out?
Okay, I'm going to try to explain it, and see if I can succeed where others have not.
You install TWRP by booting to bootloader and using fastboot to push a new recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
It seems like you accomplished that successfully. The next step is to immediately boot to recovery; do not boot the phone to system first. You will get the factory prompts for wiping data, but it will not actually wipe your data this time. Instead it will boot to TWRP.
Now, while you are in TWRP, you need to either root (flash Magisk) or install a custom ROM. If you do not, your next boot to system will remove TWRP and restore the stock recovery. If that happens, then the data-wiping prompts the next time you boot to recovery are real and the phone will wipe. So you MUST - must must must - root or install a custom ROM while you have TWRP up, in order for TWRP to persist.
If you have already experienced this problem, you need to start over at the beginning; flash TWRP again, and then follow the rest of these directions.
Maybe this will help clear up the problem for you guys.

I only manage to see the TWRP welcome screen and the the phone automatically reboots to system
I can't get to see the TWRP menu at all!!
WTF is going on?
I have repeated the process many many times and always the same. What i am missing here?!?!?
me too when it boots in twrp only showing logo then it reboots in system what are wedoing wrong?
Got the same problem. I unlocked Bootloader, checked if unlocked (yes). After flashing TWRP i see the TeamWin Screen and phone boot again. There is no TeamWin Menu.
A try with an older TWRP-Version and flashing via fastboot with another PC does not work too.
Anybody an idea?
Did you guys manage to fix it?
Matt.
Hey, for me worked to flash TWRP 3.1.1.0.

With 3.2.1.0, 3.2.2.0 and 3.2.3.0 it only briefly shows the TWRP screen and then boots into system anyway.
With 3.1.1.0 the key combination to boot into TWRP as with the other versions above simply doesn't work, again it directly boots into system without even showing the TWRP screen.
I'm stuck with a resetted phone because of this bull****, because some instructions said "oh, the reset dialog will not really reset your data..." - yeah thanks for nothing, buddy.
So what now?
EDIT: I got it working using TWRP 3.1.1.0, but the same version from the OFFICIAL site didn't work, as I described above.
The only 3.1.1.0 TWRP that works with my phone is the one from this Link: http://downloads.codefi.re/rashed/g6/
(which is linked ... somewhere here in the Forum, don't remember which thread)
