READ BEFORE YOU FLASH: THIS FIRMWARE HAS A PROTECTED BOOTLOADER THAT WILL PREVENT YOU FROM FLASHING SAMSUNG OFFICIAL FIRMWARE.
MORE INFO HERE
I don't know if this process actually flash boot and spl because JM6 doesn't seem to have them, but you're on your own and I don't recommend you to do it.
Ok I'm going to make a detailed guide of how this worked for me because succeed depends a lot on which firmware you have in your tab. It's a good idea to start with JM6 since you can flash it completely if you have an older firmware or JMA (I guess you won't be able to flash it in the future if a new firmware is released). You won't lose your internal SD Card data but your phone will be factory reset.
1) Download JM6 from HERE
You'll get Odin 1.7 + PIT + PHONE + PDA + CSC.
2) Download JMA from here: HERE
3) Download JMC from here: HERE
4) Start Odin 1.7 and select:
*PIT P1_SMD_MAP.pit
*REPARTITION YES
*AUTO REBOOT YES
*F. RESET TIME YES
*PDA: CODE_P1000XXJM6.tar.md5
*PHONE: MODEM_P1000XXJM6.tar.md5
*CSC: CSC_P1000OXAJM6.tar.md5
5) Put your TAB in download mode: Turn it off, press POWER + VOL DOWN
6) Press start in ODIN and wait until process is completed. Your tab will REBOOT in download mode.
7) Now press POWER + VOL UP and when you see SAMSUNG logo RELEASE POWER BUT KEEP PRESSING VOL UP in order to enter recovery and let the TAB flash dbdata, it'll reboot and boot into android. (unplug your USB cable because Odin won't recognize it on some systems)
8) Open Odin 1.7 again or press RESET and select:
*PIT: NONE
*REPARTITION NO
*AUTO REBOOT YES
*F. RESET TIME YES
*PDA: JMA.tar (from JMA file obviously)
*PHONE: NONE
*CSC: NONE
9) Repeat 5), 6) and 7)
10) Open Odin 1.7 again or press RESET and select:
*PIT: NONE
*REPARTITION NO
*AUTO REBOOT YES
*F. RESET TIME YES
*PDA: P1000XXJMC_P1000OXAJMC_P1000XXJMA_HOME.tar (from JMC file obviously)
*PHONE: NONE
*CSC: NONE
11) Repeat 5), 6) and 7)
I have an AT&T TAB and this process worked for me.
If you need 850 + 1900 you only have to flash MODEM (PHONE button in ODIN) from HERE (modem_bell_i9000.zip) with No PIT, no repartition, no PDA and no CSC.
I hope this helps anybody and sorry about my english
EDIT: If for some strage reason you get the !!! --- !!! screen in your tab, don't panic. You can start the whole process again, Odin will detect your phone, it's a download mode anyway.
EDIT2: I always choose to wipe all my data. I use Titanium backup and I can get most of my data back from there. It's better to have a functional tab than a brick full of useless data. Wiping will always be safer.
EDIT3: Made some modifications to step 7. What you need to do is to enter recovery and that's it. It wasn't clear. Now I think you'll get it right. I didn't test it without step 7 but some people seems to be doing well without doing step 7. Maybe device is entering recovery automatically and flashing dbdata on its own (this is to be expected but sometimes it just doesn't happen).
What about rooting the device before you flash...?
Working great!!! However, I just didn't do step 7 in any of the 3 updates. What exactly do you mean in step 7? Which of the 4 options should I choose in Step 7?
Thanks

When flashing ends your device should install dbdata in recovery mode. Maybe with this procedure dbdata is flashed automatically when flashing JM6 at the beginning it's not necessary to do it manually.
If dbdata is not flashed you will not be able to boot android. Your device should display something like this when that happens (in recovery mode):
E:copy_dbdata_media:cant mount DBDATA: copy default media conent failed.

But I guess you're ok
Just ignore step 7 if your device entered recovery mode automatically after flashing ended.
OP , did U enable the voice capabilities ? And what was your initial firmware ?
Do U feel confident to say that you can str8 go from whatever FW you have to JM6 as a full flash , and not anymore move your way up from JJ4 (russian FW ) ?

If by voice capabilities you mean putting a sim card, yes, I tried and it works fine. I didn't test it that much, just a few calls and a lot of gprs. My initial firmware was jk5.
If I had a firmware older than JJ4 I'd just try to flash JM6 directly. I'm guessing here but I think that flashing JM6 the way I flashed it (following another guide in another forum) is like a full flash, it shouldn't matter what you had before.
Maybe someone with more knowledge could throw a light in here. What I can tell you is that I'd do it. I'm one of those guys that learn the hard way, and I've never bricked a device for good.
You're like me then. I do not even have my Tab yet but my fingers are already so much itching. In the meanwhile I am reading and learning. I am totally new to Samsung but I've had my hands busy for the past year with my Nexus One, so quite confortable playing with rom/kernel/radio world .

Flashing for morons
Monrad, thanks, this is a super post.
Just for me and all the other morons in the world. Can you also please give a basic run through of what you've done. I have the following questions.
1) You have 3 waves of activities in your post: JM6, JMA, JMC. Generally, what is each wave doing?
2) Please would you also explain what the fields in Odin1.7 are for?
*PIT -does this set the partitions on Samsung tab?
*REPARTITION -if PIT file this is automatically selected
*AUTO REBOOT YES -why do I select yes
*F. RESET TIME YES -what's this one for?
*PDA: CODE_P1000XXJM6.tar.md5 -PDA is core PDA firmware?
*PHONE: MODEM_P1000XXJM6.tar.md5 -what does this do? load modem drivers?
*CSC: CSC_P1000OXAJM6.tar.md5 -I'm not sure what CSC stands for and does?
3) With regards to getting my dirty hands on the right firmware, when I go to http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p1000.htm, I look at the latest firmware for Europe. At the bottom of the list are 3 downloads:
a) JM6, b) JMA, c) JMC. What are the differences between these firmwares. I understand that J = 2010, but don't know how to decrypt last two digits.
4) Which PIT should be used in Step 1 of your sequence? What are the PIT files at the bottom of the page (in Flash Tools Section) of http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p1000.htm
5) I bricked my tab. I got it alive again, only by loading the JMA via Odin 1.7. Basically I put my Tab in Download Mode. Started Odin1.7. Used the Eur Pit file (referred to in my Step 4), and then loaded JMA.tar (extracted from JMA file mentioned in my Step 3). With all the check marks checked in Odin. That was it, and my Galaxy Tab rebooted and seems to work totally fine. Why would I do the other steps mentioned in your sequence? What benefit is there?
5a) Note when I do *#1234# I get:
PDA: blank
PHONE: P1000XXJMA
CSC: blank
the PDA and CSC show blank....is that why I should first load JM6 and follow your sequence? What functionality do I currently not have because of these blanks?
6) A question on rooting my Tab... what are the benefits to doing this?
Thanks for dealing with my long winded post! I really appreciate what you've done so far.
You are a good man, Monrad!
I followed steps and got my AT&T tab updated.
A word about wiping data: I had my Tab fully set up with original AT&T firmware and then I started installation I got into lots of trouble. Instead of recovery mode it went into blank screen with vertical white line (I suspect it did dbdata update behind it though), then it rebooted and my apps started crashing.
The only way to fix it was to get to setting and do factory reset. After that everything went by the book.
So you may want to clarify that data must be wiped from Android, unless you have some other way.
Thanks again
How and where do I find the Dbdata file ?
When I go for step 7 i get the "can´t mount" and "media content failed" messages.
Edit:

I now seems to work. But my *#1234# says jm6 even on the jmc firmware?
Anybody knows what is the differences between JMA and JMC ?
You don't need to flash JMA. You can go straight from JM6 to JMC
You can skip oen unnecessary step

Im on JM6

Everything works fine, even without doing a factory reset, all my applications are working fine. But I don't see any differences between JMA and JMC

PDA: P1000JPJJ1
PHONE: P1000JXJJ1
CSC: P1000OJPJJ3
Its currently arabic firmware. Can i use this guide & update to this Euro fimrware? I dont need arabic. I am not rooted as well. Will this guide work for me?
i have a problem, all ok till JM6

Does Flashing Straight to RotoHammers ROM on AT&T Tab Add Phone Capabilities?
I''m confused between this posting

Whats the most current way to get phone capabilities on the AT&T Tab?

UPDATE:
For any newbies out there here is the procedure
1. Download Android Sideload Wonder Machine, enable debugging mode, & Sideload z4Root on your AT&T out of the box device. (no ADB knowledge required)
2. Run z4Root Permanent Root
3. Download Root Explorer & Zip System/efs folder , mount your device to USB and keep the zip file on your PC in a safe place
4. Follow the quick tutorial on how to flash the ROTOHAMMER.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895827 ( Just Flash RotoHammer's JME v4 Full .tar via the PDA instead of the file name shown in the screenshot)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=894763
6. Once you've reboot your at&t device should now have the Rotohammer Firmware.
7. Enable debugging on the device again.
8. Run RotoHammers script to unlock

You are in Business. If you have any questions shoot me a PM I'll be glad to help.
The only side effect I have right now is that for some reason when I boot my device I do not see the Samsung Boot Screen or Recovery Mode
9. To fix this side effect flash with odin (PDA and NO Repartition) the JJ4 Bootloaders posted by Rotohammer here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=496999&d=1295722186
Flash Roto-JME version 4 following the steps. You will have a phone icon. The best At&t modem is the bell i900. Besides Roto's pit, pda, and phone files, you will need Odin3 1.7.
I also unlocked it using Roto's instructions, so I can use a t-mobile sim card for EDGE data and voice.
I rooted it with z4root.
It was very easy.
Just read everything a few times, and come back here if you're not sure. Good luck.
Yes. I had a basically stock att tab, I followed the first url you put in your post, it just worked.
After the flash, voice service was working as was 3g/3.5g data.
If you review several of the related posts and watch the video, and review the first url, you'll see they are all doing a very similar thing. I started 'simple' by doing the super one click root thing followed by a rotoBAK just to learn abit and develope some confidence. After a day or two, I flashed away.

Love that reference, but here's the good part:
Wikipedia said:
The computer word boot is short for "bootstrap" (itself short for "bootstrap load"). The term bootstrap derives from the idiom pull oneself up by one's bootstraps. The term refers to the fact that a computer cannot run without first loading software but must be running before any software can be loaded, which seems as impossible as to "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps."

I am looking to buy a tmobile tab and am trying to figure out the best way of getting phone service. I NEED it to work as a phone, so working out the logistics is paramount. I am still learning, so any info would help.
Can someone repeat the step by step for both unlocking the device & adding ATT voice calling capabilities, with the latest and most current files.

Glad to see the flash worked for you! Your directions seem good. You did do a lot of steps that could be streamlined. I did the partition and firmware application in one step in odin. And using the v4 rotojme; it was rooted upon reboot. I did root the stock firmware, to get a backup. But I don't think this a prerequsite to the jme flash.
I too am missing the samsung startup screen.
But good to see it worked for you.
Question: does the protected bootloaders issue affect this process? I'd like to flash my tab (stock Rogers) to enable the phone capabilities.
You can avoid the whole sideload wonder machine by just using this command in adb: adb install z4root.apk
Also, you should be able to do the entire flashing process in one go - not two.
Your probably right about only need to flash straight to V4.

On another Roto thread this was discussed. Usually you have a black screen and a very thin white line. You wait a few minutes and everything is normal. The cause was given as going from stock to Roto Firmware, with the full wipe and re-partition.

bootloaders, param, kernel and a PIT file must all be specified.
which files do I need use in primary, secondary and bootloaders
Fixed boot screen & missing recovery mode issue. See opening post. These files are from the trusted Rotohammer.

Could someone make a "howto get back to stock FW" for the tab? Lots of howto's here, but no one that reverses the process. If someone also could decrypt the file here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889165 and upload it, it would be great. The decodertest.exe does not work.

Hello,
before I start
Flashing a device always comes with a certain risk - if you do not pay attention, you may end up with a device you cannot use anymore. For this reason,
* READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY ! *
If there are any videos, you can feel lucky + should watch them,
and follow the instructions step-by-step.
If questions do come up, I recommend to ask them BEFORE you flash being unsure if the settings are really ok. You can send me a PN or post in here
* * *
To go back to aka flash Stock Firmware for Galaxy Tab,
1) back up your files
2) go here: http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p1000.htm
(if you have not yet registered for samfirmware, do it! Believe me, you will sure not regret it)
3) make sure to read the instructions
4) Download and read the PDF instruction guide in the link (especially the pages explaining how to pick the files for ODIN)
5) Watch the Video
6) Download: ODIN v1.7 & the appropriate Firmware for your device
- ! .. everything below here is also well described in the PDF guide .. ! -
7) Open ODIN, pick the files
(!) if you need to repair, make sure to also pick the .PIT file and tick re-partition (personally, I always flash with the .PIT file + re-partition when I flash a new firmware; only when I upgrade I do not flash the .PIT)
8) Switch the Tab to USB Debugging (Settings - Applications - Development - tick: USB debugging / go to: Yes in the pop up window)
9) Power Off the Tab
9a) I always take out the SIM Card and the External SD Card at this step
10) Start Download Mode (hold: Volume Down + then: Power, once screen starts release only the Power button; until you see the yellow droid with the shovel)
11) Connect Tab with the PC
12) now PC installs drivers & in ODIN: on the left hand corner there should be [COM:...] in yellow (this means: ODIN has recognized your device)
13) check once more if the appropriate files have been chosen in ODIN
14) once you are ready, click: START
15) ODIN will now flash - check the Message field on the left hand bottom
(!) don't run anything now, leave the PC and the Tab, and let ODIN do its work, it will take a few minutes
16) once ODIN is done it will say: "PASS" in green on the top left hand corner & the Tab will reboot
- the reboot will take longer than usual, let it fully reboot!
In my case, after flashing Firmware my Tab was in Russian language - I had to go to Settings and set my language to English (if you need help let us know)
Let me assure you that I have flashed two times using Firmware from SamFirmware.com and both times, everything went really well!
Thanks man! You're the best!
you are very welcome /
only a few days ago, I was sitting with my tab in my hands, the tab was stuck in boot loop, I was totally frightened of having ruined it .. asking myself exactly the same question: "How can I flash a stock firmware?"
.. Users sharing experience and helping each other out this is what this forum is here for
I followed your description and it seems everything went well! I still have a question, though; When I connect the tab with Kies, it says under "firmware information": This version of the unit can not be updated" (it's in norwegian, I have translated it so it might not be word-by-word the same as in the english version). The question is: how come?
When I now enter *#1234* the tab states:
PDA: P1000XWJMF
PHONE: P1000XXJMA
CSC: P1000SERJM4
Thanks!

Absolutely please, go ahead!
Hmm, I was considering flashing my Verizon Tab as well with a custom ROM, but from what I am reading it still seems to be an iffy process.
If I were to go ahead and attempt it can anybody tell me if any of the ROMs out right now offer signifigant improvements over the stock? And since it is a Verizon Tab would the procedure for flashing a ROM as well as flashing back to stock be the same as the other carriers? Many kudos to the person who gave the detailed response about flashing back to stock, but I just wasnt sure if it applied to Verizon's version as well, as it's the Tab I've found the least info about.
Edit: Just for clarity, making the Tab into a phone isnt something I'm too concerned about...just wanted to slip that in as it seems to complicate the process of flashing these things much more.

Hi, I was following this guide http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide found on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1298691.
I got as far as the Installing the ClockworkMod Recovery, when I got to step 8 'Click Start on the Heimdall Frontend. A blue transfer bar will appear on the phone showing the kernel being transferred. The device will reboot automatically.' BUT when the phone tried to reboot it gets stuck on the first Galaxy S screen. I could get in to download mode and recovery mode but nothing else. Does this mean my mobile is bricked? What do I do know?
Thanks in advance
You have flashed a rom, not only root your device. And cyanogenmod is not based on samsung firmware.
Think you shold read some more.
But, how long do you wait on the s logo? It thakes some time to boot up first time when catche is wiped.
If you only want to root you shold search for cf root for your stock rom. If you want to go back, you have to download a stock rom. Found att samfirmware.com

No not bricked (nowhere near)............ Reflash...
I have read many times that re-flashing will do the trick. If you have download mode, you can flash any rom onto it, i would use odin as it may be the safest whilst you being in limbo. Then if you want to follow a link for CM 7.1 that is both v.entertaining (my opinion) and clear i suggest you click on the link in my sig...
Robert - Sorry I did mean flash as well as root. I waited around 15-20 minutes, isnt that long enough?
Talon - I have tried to re-flash using the guide method I was originally using but get the same problem. To be honest from looking at Odin information on this forum, it has confused me quite a bit (lot of different advice), not sure if I am doing the right thing.
I did make the mistake of jumping into trying to flash & root my phone. Any help of what to do to get my phone to a working state, would be very much appreciated.
@OP: as long as you can put phone in Download mode - it is not bricked.
ALWAYS, you can restore everything by flashing stock ROM with repartition.
If you will not be able to go to download mode - well... then you have something to worry about

I'm a bit confused, what would be the best way to do that?
Well find stock FW from below, then flash it using the guides..
Generally now days you get 2 files, Pit either 512 513 or 813 (or something similar). And you get a .tar file or other zip type extension and put that in pda. Then flash
you may get 3 files and a pit file in which case you put it in the appropriate places....
Ive written this guide and telling you it is a GUIDE. Wherever you get your files from there should be instructions as to what to do.
For example you may need to do a factory reset before (unlikely but still) More likely is that you will have to disable lagfix, but you shoudnt have to worry about that. Main thing read the guide and follow the guide from where you get the files. The thread you get it from...read the first and last 5 pages, more if you want to be safe.
Now files, i have links to stock FW below, guide are usually present within them. If not read the thread, but also read the thread and search th thread for answers or the section or the SGS forum.
IF before you were on 2.2.x - try some Froyo from sammfirmware. If you were on Ginger - try Click
Of course, you can search for EAzyBase... but it is more advanced, start from the basics...
OMG, there are tons of tutorials and how to's in here about flashing and rooting phones... who uses heimdall? get Odin for flashing:
1. Install KIES for drivers (you might already have done this).
2. Get a rom from samfirmware/sammobile, I recommend JVP because it has gingerbread bootloaders: http://www.sammobile.com/threads/17-Samsung-I9000-Galaxy-S-Firmwares
3. Get Odin (sorry I coudn't find a link)
4. Get your phone in download mode (VolDown, Home, Power).
5. Connect your phone to PC with USB cable.
6. Set the PDA, CSC and MODEM files in Odin from the firmware you downloaded from step2.
7. Make sure you have "re-partition" enabled and set the .PIT file to use the *512.pit also included in the firmware from step 2.
8. click start.
9. Start your phone and set up the startup wizard.
9. For rooting, get the CF-root for your firmware from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
10. Get your phone into download again.
11. DON'T check repartition in odin, only select the CF-Root file as PDA (you have to use the CF-Root-***.TAR, important to use .TAR and not .ZIP.
12. Flash again, now you are rooted!!
Rather than having scattered info on this topic I have created one Thread to have all info on this subject, any opinions, contributions and info will be really appreciated. Your actions your Risk

Thank you for the guide, I have a couple of questions..
1.Does the Note has to be rooted to be able to upgrade?
2.Will the yellow triangle appear on boot after doing this upgrade?
Brgds... /Tubgirl
No you don't need to be rooted to upgrade
No triangle if stock ROM is used

does the software extract the .tar-file by itself?
Because I only get the same zip file, no file shows up.
Thanks Dear useful info it is, just to simplify it a bit
It is easy to find Product Code by dialing *#272*imei#*
IMEI number can be found via dialing *#06#
PDA/CSC/Phone info can be found by dialing *#1234# in dialer

A really good guide, just what I needed.
I would make an addition for regions or product codes that isn't available in this software, for example the nordic region with swedish product code.
To get the firmware thru check fus it is however possible to manually insert the codes needed.
To do this follow these steps:
1. start regedit and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\
2. Start with finding the product code, to do this search for a line called ProductCode and in that line you'll find the product code, in my case it is GT-N7000ZBANEE
This code is what you write in Check Fus in the Product Code field.
3. Now to find the software codes, PDA/CSC/PHONE.
To do this search for a line called HIDSWVER
Here you'll find a long string of codes, In my case it shows up as
N7000XBKK4/N7000OXXKK5/N7000XXKK5/N7000XBKK4
The names in colour are the ones that we want, fill them in as written here.
Purple = PDA
Red = CSC
Green = Phone
Finally, press download and save.
When this continue from step 5.
(feel free to rewrite this text as my english isn't that good anymore)

Thank you
But what about the file?
Is it going to be extracted aswell? Because I only have the same .zip file as before, no new .tar file
Or do I extract it from the .zip myself?
You can decrypt/extract yourself the .enc2 file to get .tar file

I did both reset and format partition from odin (desktop) worked flawlessly.
Why am I not supposed to do that?

Got the stock rom, worked without a problem.
But, there is always a but, When I flashed this stock rom with mobile Odin it seemed to work, but when done flashing and rebooting this message shows up "logo_q1.jpeg draw failed"
I have no idea why this happend.
The only thing I could do was to go into download mode.
Solved it however by flashing with odin on pc and it worked again.
That is really helpful. Thank you.
Is it possible to use a different region? I have a UAE version, but would like to use the Europe ROM.
Yes you can by using Odinv3 1.85, see the instruction in original thread for it. you can download firmware either using Fus downloader or from www.sammobile.com or www.tsar3000.com. If you do it using Fus downloader you will have 1 file to flash as PDA

You can actually do even more, you can switch the product code of your Note to make it look like a complete european version. What I did:
-Checked original product code which was KOR (*2767*4387264636#)
-Got AUT (Switzerland) XXKA rom off FusDownloader
-Flashed this rom and repartitioned phone with Odin
-Changed product code to AUT (*#272*[IMEI]#)
-Phone restarted, did complete wipe and applied AUT csc
-My phone now reads as AUT model
Thanks a lot for this guide!
I'm still new to flashing Samsung devices (last week I finally replaced my Milestone with a Note), so this is really helpful.
If I may ask a dumb question though:
Does flashing an official firmware this way revert the phone to stock completely?
I rooted my Note and installed CWM according to dr.ketan's simplified guide and flashed RiverSource's FM-Kernel using Mobile ODIN Pro to get rid of the power drain issue.
But I'm still unsure if I'm going to keep the phone (because its display issues among other things), so I might have to "clean up" the phone again.
Will this guide remove root, CWM and the modified kernel and is it save to return the phone after only following this guide?
Thanks a lot in advance!
i download the official rom that i want but i cannot fin the Q1_20110914_16GB.pit .where is???
It's attached in original post with Odin zip file

Yes it will take u to stock ROM and remove any custom roms plus root. In other word flashing stock roms brings phone back to original condition unless no triangle and Counter is there at start

Odin is the saviour tool for all Samsung devices. The method for flashing by Odin differs from device to device.
This thread will give step by step instructions on how to flash a stock rom from Odin on the GT-I9070/p :
A. Download Odin tools from here : http://d-h.st/3zJ
Pass : shaaan
B. Download the stock rom from www.samfirmware.com
Setting up Odin :
1. Make sure you have installed the necessary drivers for this device. The drivers can be installed from within KIES or seperately. (I will upload the drivers shortly).
2. Run Odin as administrator.
3. Setting up the files is divided in two types depending on the firmware type :
a. If the firmware is a multi package file, put the files in the corresponding sections.
ie. CSC file in CSC section, PDA file in PDA section.
b. If the firmware is a single package, add the single file in the PDA section.
4. Now that Odin is setup, put the phone in download mode. To do that, power off the phone and press 'home+power+volume down' buttons together. Keep the buttons pressed till Download mide appears.
5. Now that Odin and the phone are setup, connect the phone to the device. Odin will detect the device and show something like 'com port (1)'
6. Flash the device.
7. The flash will take 5 minutes for a full flash on average.
8. When the flashing is complete, DO NOT remove the device until Odin shows ' PASS '.
9. The device will reboot. Remove the device, go to recovery mode and do a factory/data reset.
That's it. Happy flashing peeps..!!
Awesome guide mate - messing around with our device without Odin is risky !
This should be sticky. A lot of people is asking how to revert to original FW, or similiar questions that is connected to reverting. And it is almost at the end of forum, and thay cant see it.
I pmed the mods to do it. But they won't budge..
Please pm them..
Nice guide!!!
And adding images would be a nice option.
And plz add a point which tells which buttons to press like
"Re-Partition" ,"Auto Reboot","F.Reset Time" ,"Flash Lock"......

From what I was able to find in other guides it is ONLY 'Auto Reboot' and 'F. Reset Time' to be checked.
All others to be unchecked.
There are some posts not to bother with that .pit file that is inside Odin .zip file.
Odin package from sammobile got 2 .pit files for 8GB - GT-I9070_EUR_XX_8G and GT-I9070_EUR_XX_8G_20111220_KL6 and one for 16GB
(at least paired with XEO region XXLD1) not only that one we got in link form 1st post.
I was also able to find some info that if you use .pit check also 'Re-Partition'.
Now I am curious about if It would be good idea for me to actually Re-Partition my phone - bought it used (not new) and my PC detects only 4GB of internal SD. Will it increase custom binary counter? (so far it is at 0 and I would rather keep it that way)
Is it going to fix that issue so I will be able to use all 8GB (minus system partition)?
If so how to use it and what .pit file to take?
.pit only, re-partition only and run it once, then single-package as PDA with reboot and F. Reset on another flash run?
Or maybe all at once?
BTW you guys ROCK.

googled a bit more and found it out too :crying:
BTW - both of those 8GB .pit files are identical (according to 'comp' tool in windows) so there is no reason to use re-partition - other than sth went totally wrong and you are trying to recover from brick or sth serious as this .pit file is already on your device.
Just flashed unbranded stock for XEO region - original one was branded.
NOTE to anyone who is still thinking about safety of this method:
After initial reboot - when it was reconfiguring in recovery mode - or however you will call it (just before odin should say 'pass' - still in that little font screen) windows started to reinstall usb drivers - odin log in bottom corner said 'disconnected' and even then my newly flashed ROM is working as it should. I would rather keep it connected till Odin confirms all went as intended but in case of similar issue - do not get heart attack

nope it can also be used to flash custom Roms and kernels though flashing custom kernels via odin will increase your bin counter !
Hello guys...
How are you? I´m new on the i9070 threads!!! I´ve had others phones before, like SG2, xperia sola, live with walkman... so, i need the password to descompress odin... i search on thread but i don´t found it...
SORRY I found the password... shaaan
Of what I understand, can I test an unlimited number of stock firmware and the binary counter remain 0?
If I flash an unbranded firmware can I use SIM cards from other providers?
Now my phone is branded and I can not use SIM cards from other providers.
Thanks.
