So I remember a while back reading that the frame rate for ATT 1.6 was locked at 30fps. I was wondering if anyone knew what the official froyo update allowed and also what dj_steve's rom allow.
Thanks in advance

Anybody know the highest frame rate that I can put my 8525 to? The 8125's highest was 19, but the stock rate was 10. I'm hoping my 8525 can handle more than 19. Somebody let me know something.
Anybody Got Anything?
Framerate in what application?
In recording video.
What's the higherst setting when recording video?
according to some rumours over the net (i don't know if i am allowed to put links here) it seems the the new european ROM for SE Xperia will allow this to film at 30fps
considering that x1 and HD have more or less the same chip, do you think would it be possible to unlock that feature also for our HD devices?
any smart guy to port that feature for us?
OEH, I would like that
I truly believe it's a software/driver issue, so it might be possible.
It's one of the main problems that makes me regret 'upgrading' from the N95.
Video and Pictures were ACE on that phone. 640x480 @ 30fps ON A PHONE.
Its 30fps video recording and its not an official update as I understand it.
Its in Euro Roms but no US ones due to QualCom agreements in differing regions.
So people just flash to Euro Rom and get video recording frame rate increase from 10fps to about 30fps
there are some guys, already trying this ... but they got a bit stuck:

Hi i'm new to developing and modding but a long time user of android. I've looked absolutly EVERYWHERE on this site for a camera mod for ICS 4.0.4 (ROM tiger 2.4) (KERNEL devil3_0.74). I have seen it for GB and FY but none for ICS why is this? so i would like to ask the great people of this forum to point me in the right direction if possible? i'm unsure if this is the right thread? if it's not please tell me where to repost it, any help is muchly appreciated.
So what i'm looking for is a camera hack that will increase video bitrate from 10mbps to 20-24mbsp (if possible, i'm sure it is as hardware is more than capable?) and recording audio in videos from 64kbps to 192kbps (more if possible but i know for sure that 192kbps is an easy accomplishment (sorry for spelling) for this hardware)
as i said ANY help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Haven't heard of any video mods yet, but for audio I can point you towards voodo sound (e.g. in semaphore kernel). Don't think you can change the bitrate, but you can configure the audio chip to oversample the input signal and also the microphone gain.
Just report back if you found something regarding video
There is a thread in android development called "hack i9000 camera i9000 FROYO &GB" check it out you'll understand. I've been working on making and moddifying my own source but its harder than I thought. I know its possible to change samplerate on the camera directly from 16000 to 44100 and the bitrate from 64kbps too 192kbps, and the video quality should be able to 17-24 mbps bitrate as the hardware can decode and encode 1080p so there is no limit at what we can achieve in 720p quality (I've done my reasearch). But I'm only a begginer (noob) at modifying files and development ATM. If anyone could move this to the DEV section I would be very greatfull. Cheers for the reply =D.

tried it, but audio same as default camera, even after setting it to higher quality!
When I had Xperia X8, I change video and sound bitrate by editing media_profiles.xml
I've tried that also - same result, default low quality audio.

I ordered the i9505G directly from the Google Play store. Since day one I noticed that the frame rate during 1080p video recording is pretty choppy. It doesn't seem to be 30fps. So I returned it and got another one. The second i9505G also seems to have the same issue.
I am quite surprised and disappointed because on my GS3 I was able to record in 1080p quite smoothly... and yet on the GS4 it seems choppy. Anyone else have this experience?

A bit more info. I dug a bit more into the issue and it appears that the video recording frame rate is capped at about 16fps on the i9505G. That's visibly very choppy. Anyone else experience this problem?
I have a I337M (Canadian version) on which I installed a GPE ROM and I'm experiencing this same frame rate issue. A real bummer since I love the AOSP mojo. I use the S4's camera alot so this is a show stopper for me. I guess it's back to stock since there doesn't appear a fix or even an acknowledge of the issue by either Google or Samsung.
You guys do know that there is a modded aosp camera that can record smooth 30 fps/60 fps right? Downside is HDR doesn't work ^_^

Could you tell us the app name?
Thank you
Hi, pals.
I'm planning to install the Aspire ROM again but I'd like to know the best camera in my case to choose on recovery... I know that some options are available on the AROMA Installer... Don't suggest me the stock one, please.
I just need a camera that the frame rate of the movies made matches with the frame rate on YouTube when the movies are uploaded.
For exemplo... I remember that I recorded some videos on 30 fps or 60 fps, I don't know very well... But on YouTube the videos appeared as 50 fps or something like that...
And I'm recording videos for YouTube so it would be cool to upload on this site the movies with the same frame rate that I really choose record...
I'm planning to come back to a custom ROM because my phone isn't so fast and is being hot frequently... And also because I'm missing some new features...
Thank you so much.
Try Open Camera and A Better Camera as well.

I already have both bought.
I probably will test them as soon as possible.
Thank you.
