Facebook app messages bug? - HTC Aria General

I have threads (messages) in my facebook account with 50+ messages per thread. In the facebook application, I can only see first 30 message in every thread. I receive new message notification, I go to messages, open thread, scroll down, but last message is 30th message which I have received few days ago. Anyone experiencing this? Or I miss something?
P.s: I have tried delete Facebook cache and data, still same.

I'm experiencing the same thing. After so many messages I'll still get the notifications for new messages but they won't actually show when I open the message. No matter how much I delete. I just end up having to go to the actual facebook site to read them.

[Q] How to delete multiple emails or sms ?

Hi, I have a question about deleting multiple emails or sms. When I go to either one of them, I can not select more than one (I used to have X1 and when I clicked on one of them and keep scrolling down, I could select more than one). Is there any way? Do I need to dowload a program?
Thanks!

If you want to delete a whole sms thread, then you can just long press on it and you should get a popup where u can choose delete entire thread
No idea about email - the inbuilt mail app sucks anyway
Thanks, but the what I more need to know is how do I delete multiple emails, instead of deleting each individually and just click on one and scroll down until I select the ones I want to delete. I guess is not possible...that really sucks
I feel like a broken record, and honest I don't work for them, but Handcent SMS allows you to delete multiple threads. It does lots of other stuff too.
The email app does absolutely suck, but having looked for the answer on this before I believe it is an android problem not just an X10 prob. Not found any answers on any of the forums that I lurk on.

The 2 most popular email apps are K-9 Mail, and Droidmail. I personally prefer K-9, but both are better than the regular email app that comes with android.
Multi-Select delete, and all of those great options are there in K-9.
Ok thanks! Hope they do something soon for this matter.

Ooooh thanks for the heads up. Must have missed this one on my trolling thru. Downloading now. See, it is true you learn something new everyday!
Update... have downloaded it and finally found a way to get rid of the gmail folders, as I dont use them, that are a constant on the stock app. Loving it so far. Thanks again
For deleting multiple sms without wiping a thread, there's an app called sms cleaner. Couple of different options for deleting messages including by date received and keyword. Some reviews say it doesn't work, but it's because the numbers don't reflect instantly. Waiting a bit after closing the messaging app and checking later will show the correct number of messages remaining.

[Q]QSMS not showing up?

Has anyone else had an issue with getting an sms notification, but when you view the convo it doesn't display anything new? This has happened a few time for me.

Been happening to me alot...its REALLY annoying.
Friend sends message ( see msg in notification bar)
i veiw message thread
No message
its really annoying, im wondering how to fix it?
Only thing I can think of is that the timestamp is off, thereby making it so that the 'new' message is dated several hours earlier and thus you don't see it at the bottom of the SMS thread.

Noticed that this is the case, there appears to be a bug with the SMS timestamp fix is my guess. Sometimes messages are showing up several hours behind and sometimes several hours ahead.

[Q] Why SMS's are automatically deleting

Stepped away from my MT4G for a minute, when I returned, I found all my SMS's deleted. Only had about 1000, and 5-10 pictures messages. I know I had ~1GB of free memory. This was a big issue with my Nexus One, but didn't expect this to happen on the MT4G.
Does anyone know the cause of this?

Well, I know the stock messaging app has a setting to delete old messages, so you might want to check and see if that is checked.

It has not been checked since I got the phone. Seems to be common reading the T-MO forums.
I know that the max thread of messages to the same recipient is 200 so if you are not deleting messages on a normal maintenance basis, perhaps some of them are getting bumped after the 200 message Max is being reached? These, of course, are referring to messages to and from the same recipient(s). My wife likes to babble and I can get to 200 messages in no time....just sayin.

I know what your saying. BUT in the stock SMS app, I do not have that feature checked.

I woke up to this happening yesterday, but I use evil's miui rom. All messages were gone and new ones would not show up. Had to reflash to fix it.
Are you using the stock messaging app or some other messaging app? Because it happened to me once with handcent. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it again and everything is working fine since.
silly problem
guys I can sure that you have installed quick cache cleaner app, or any other equalent app, it will delet all sms when u clear the all system cache,
solution: all you have to do is very simple open cache cleaner app n select messages press n hold it n select EXCLUDE that's it your problem solved ...

SMS force close

Hi
My sister in law has a wildfire and is having issues with the SMS apparently force closing when deleting SMS messages. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?

No one have this issue?

if she has many sms it's natural on wildfire... just hit the wait bottom and wait wf does not have a high-end cpu so it can't handle many sms.
htc msging app sucks balls. download some other msging apps like go sms from market, should help
hit thanks if i helped you

tried both Go SMS and Handcent and both show the same issue. She has one thread with nearly 1700 messages in which seems to be causing the issue.
Any more ideas??
As a last resort i have gone into settings\applications\all apps\messaging and cleared all data. This has cleared all messages and then i have set up the sms app to delete sms over 100 per conversation to avoid this in future
EDIT: This did not work. SMS all still there
Right I think I have finally found a way to remove the messages. Ive downloaded "my phone explorer" and used my laptop to delete the messages remotely. Now she has SMS housekeeping set to remove messages over 100 per conversation it should look after itself
deleting messages is a real PITA. It took me about 24 hours to delete 3xxx messages once. You can delete threads with applications like handcent or stock SMS app, they will appear to freeze but after a while they will complete.
A better app I found is "SMS delete". It deletes messages one per one (with options like only delete from that number, only messages containing this word, only older than xx days, ...) and it runs in the background and also when the phone screen is off. It's still slow, but a lot less annoying, and it deletes faster the less messages there are still left on the phone.
I am searching it on the market but I can't find it as of now, I restored it myself using titanium backup. It's a green envelope with a green arrow if you would come across it...
*edit* this one http://android-apps.com/applications/communication/sms-delete-2/ but can't find it in the market, good luck
I'd try the Fix Permissions options at the settings.

[Q] Facebook Messenger SMS integration/Threading

Hi, just a quick question.
I've got the new Facebook Messenger app with working SMS and chat heads.
I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the Facebook Messages would be threaded with SMS, so green bubble, blue bubble, etc. If you're offline, it'll send a text, etc.
However, if I'm talking to someone and then choose to SMS, I can create two chat heads for the same person. Is there away to combine these contacts so SMS and Facebook messages become threaded?
Cheers,

I heard someone else complaining of this, so I imagine they keep them separate on purpose but I can't say for sure.
Hmm, I don't know why I can't get it working. I even reinstalled it but there's no option for chat heads anywhere.

I managed to get it working perfectly but I'm rooted, running CM 10.1. Tap and hold a message, a popup comes up and then you hit 'pop out chat head'.
