Can't wait to try Jager's ROM. Bye bye Sense!
Will there be a vanilla 2.1 ROM released?
And, a vanilla 2.2 when made available?
Koush its working on a CM 5.0.8 port.
Ozzeh already made a NEAR senseless rom. Thats just a few hours of work.

Where is the unrevolved rom ozzeh tweeted about?
Ok you been running custom roms root stock roms and now you want to join the rush for official release of ICS .But you have a non genuine firmware /product codes etc .
Simple method of preparing to get the release is one restore your original saved firmware on a clean phone Kies will update once your provider releases ICS .
No saved rom then go to
Check FUS downloader: http://fus.nanzen.se/download.php?id=12
Download and open it find your phone find the original supplier ie Voda Orange TMob etc or punch in your phones original codes and download the firmware .
Backup data and anything you want to save from your phone just in case .A Nandroid backup is useful at this point .
Now open Odin and flash the firmware you just downloaded this will also remove root .Its unzip download to single file .tar.md5 Open Odin put this file to PDA and flash as normal
Connect to Kies and when your phone provider updates you get ICS via Kies .
Above should apply to FOTA updates if they are available as well .
Alternative is to wait for ICS release and grab your copy via CheckFus or grab a stock Samsung ICS rom from the stock roms sources once released .
Or just sit back with your GB and wait for the custom roms to be built on ICS before moving to Android 4 my preferred choice .
ODIN how to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125282
Addition a method to spoof firmware codes may be of help to some .
Spoof FW
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959806
and in that respect the next post contains codes for a number of phones .
hidswver
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1089874
Again all these methods need not be used for ICS but can be used to download the original firmware that can be flashed for warranty purpose as well as upgrades .

You can't see the distinction between a guide to prepare your device for updating to ICS officially and a bunch half-baked-rush-to-post threads about the latest ICS release date news?
Good stuff! This should help quite a few noobs and hopefully reduce the amount of 'how do I upgrade' threads once ics is released. Because there will be plenty of them.
Probably a good idea to make a guide for downgrading from ics because, like downgrading from 2.3.6 people will ask that question 100 times a day after release.
I wonder how many times we will have to link this and other helpful threads in the near future.

Hello XDA World!!
Google I/O 2012 started and we know about new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean almost everything, but let see. The new Android version is FASTER, MORE STABLE, MORE BEATIFUL. What does it mean ?? That means NO brand new Android like 4.0, just some improvements and new features but its have new Tripple Buffering (Rendering speed is 60 frames per second) feature and system is lighter and faster so my opinion is that maybe in the future, about 6 months, we can get this version on our X8. I think that this Android looks pretty good and the new features are awesome. First OTA Update will be next month (Galaxy S & Galaxy Nexus) so nAa will get this version of Android and brings us new experience to our lovely Smarthphones.
If you know something hot about Android 4.1 Jelly Bean share it with us.
Sorry for my English

Guys I have one off-topic question. Cause you are phone masters when I can find some good smartphone for good price ?? I mean like used Galaxy Nexus with few scratches for max $200?? It can be another phone but no Nokia 3310 if you know what I mean... Just some good smartphone with bigger screen and better hardware at least 1GHz CPU and 512MB of RAM. Thanks
EXAMPLE: I found brand new Xperia U without scratches and with 2years warranty in full pack for $150

Shumash kindly made a JB Cornerstone ROM but Cornerstone doesn't work. Don't download this if you want Cornerstone.

It will need to be built from source for a ROM.
Unfortunately I don't have the skills to do so. Hopefully an interested dev will see this and decide to make a ROM.
I have no intention of pressuring devs, this is merely an announcement of the release.

I posted this information from the Onskreen git a couple of days ago in response to a post by SGA in the Schizoid thread. It's possible that he may have an interest in implementing Cornerstone for JB on the TP... or not... but I'm guessing that he either hasn't been on the boards the last couple of days, or he missed that post???
Maybe he will chime in on this when he has the time.

Yeah I don't want this to be a competition between the devs. This is just some information that hopefully will be used for the benefit of the TP.

What will 3.4.x kernel give me over the stock one or over devil kernel which is 3.1.x. Im not very familiar with the kernels will it give a performance improvement or what?
