2.3.5 on Galaxy S

To Samsung (we know you read this forum )
Can we get a leak of Android 2.3.5 for Galaxy S??

What's new in 2.3.5?

Very minor stuff, wouldn't count on it to be honest.

If the changes are that minor, I believe Samsung will prepare update. It's not like they have to rewrite and recompile whole system.

cm7 latest nighty is 2.3.5

But 2.3.5 it is not and Android release, just a mod.

Besides, CM7 is still not stable and some features are missing.
2.3.5 is only official for google phones - I.e. nexus S

Galaxy S firmware update to v2.3.5 is coming by the end of September i have confirmation from Samfirmware

I am reluctant to install this, until the kernels and roots are sorted out and bug fixed.

ICS or JB stock rom for Galaxy Y?

I wonder if anyone knows something about a future update to ICS or JB to our y.
I know about custom roms and I am using one (Jelly Blast) (best rom ever).

Till now, there are no working ports.
Most probably, there never will be an ics or jb port for our sgy. But devs and we still have a ray of hope.
For example, most probably this thread's gonna invoke another of those long discussions already done regarding this matter. But i still have a ray of hope that this does not happen.

we don't have ICS,
we just have ICS themed roms, which are 2.3.6 android JB derived,

there is no ICS or JB ported roms for galaxy y..... till now
because it is hardly possible to port ICS or JB roms to galaxy y because of low ram or internal memory on this handset....
or in future it may be possible .... don't know...

Agreed. It's not possible now due to hardware limitations. But who knows about the future.

There is no hardware limitation in our Y for ics,
We just need the drivers

Bro a ray of hope is lightened and this time it not ics neither jb but its klp android 4.2.....just search on google "galaxy y spotted running android 4.2" click the first link of android advices!!! I m not sure if its official but lets pray!!

Correction: Galaxy Y's among the best of android devices in its range, if you compare the GPU. The devs aren't foolish to work on this. The same chip is there in the new Nokia Lumia!

Why would they "test" JB for 2012 models on 2011 models?
Also 4.x.X... is the version code name for ICS updates for the 2011 models.
So it is probably an ICS update with some improvements.

Wow finally chances to get the JB. my phone is dying for an update since the last 4.0.4. All stock just in wait for the official JB.

Hi all......
Since I was happy today .....(due to birth of girl baby ) so am creating this thread to give happy news about official android 4.2.1 from samsung....
At initial stage they released to s3....only .... (leak)....
Its an good sign it will hit soon to note2 and tab2 P3100. ....
But I was quite amazed by this....android 4.2.2 is out for nexus .....but Samsung is relesing 4.2.1 now so late. ....
Soon we will see 4.2.1 in ur tab.....days
are not away. ....

Releasing a firmware outdated (and with bluetooth issues) is a very dumb step from samsung.

Take example of indian tab2 users Samsung kept us in 4.1.1........
And for your country its not even 4.1.1.....
I dont know why Samsung is doing such things......
But most of the Indians are using 4.1.2
For this only I created SungsonicHD. ......

we will get that update it will be like in end of this year or next year.
And
Samsung update process sucks because it have too much of devices added to galaxy series.and it take time for designing firmware for each.
And yes in case of nexus there are just handful of devices to look after so its better to get them.
And damn they are not available in India.Google pls make them available here at same prices as in us ,UK.

Why am adding kernel you know. ....
The power hal ...inside the kernel......
U know this power hal solved the cpu issue of latest cm10.1 kernel. ......
And all you know why we need to keep latest bootloader and modem......

i have tried that stock 4.2.1 on s3... its good .. its not final.. it has some bugs.. possibly its under testing... hopefully they start rolling out final versions soon.. !
