Hi guys,
I was transferring between somehow when i wanna port over contacts from my old sim, and to my horror, i accidentally erased all contacts! I think even that on the sim! Now i have no way to view my old contacts, not even on other phones so i highly suspect that my contacts are wiped! ((
However, i do have titanium backup on my entire phone so i believe my old contacts are backup onto it! As I did copy all contacts in my sim to my phone before!
Can any brothers here advise what i should restore to? I've tried restoring contacts, contacts sync but to no avail..
Or is there any software out there that i can use to restore?
Or is there any steps i can take to restore my sim??
Any advice is greatly appreciated and i'm extremely thankful!
Thank you in advance!

Dear bro, sorry to hear your issue. Not sure how but please do drop an email to Joel (the developer for Titanium Backup), and see if he can help.

I don't think I understand what you meant? Did you restore Contacts App from 1.6 using Titanium Backup??
Yeah sorry last bit made no sense tried to use ti backup to restore com.android.contacts 1.6 but when I click on it ,it only gives me the option to delete it .

Did you ever backup your contacts from within the phonebook?

I don't think thats the way if you want to restore your phonebook. Titanium is used if wanna backup your apps not contact. You should use backup and restore app or other method.

I really need help I need to know how to restore ALL of my apps and settings after flashing the SBF because I want to take gingerblur please help
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
You can use Titanium Backup to backup all your settings and then restore them after you flash....
I've been looking at this but do I need an sd card because if it's backed up on the phone won't that be deleted when I flash the SBF but I don't see an option for ansd card in titanium

What you do is, do your back up, after it's done, move your backup to your PC. After you do the SBF, move it back to your phone, and restore... this should restore all your settings and apps just like before it was flashed...
Ok thank you so much for your help I just started in with android about a week ago and I've learned some ADB and alot of stuff about flashing but this is the first time I've had to restore so thanks for your help.

I've used this and it does a great job just ensure your contacts are synced via your google account and everything else should be fine.
could always use idrive lite to backup contacts as well
Awesome worked great.
It didnt backed up the data of my copilot like the maps.

can you guys tell me how I can do a full backup with this phone without rooting it? im looking to do a backup like I can on my iphone and be able to restore everything from pics to apps to settings and messages, would prefer to be able to do it over a cloud with a email but its not mandatory.
im looking to do a backup in a sense where if I lose my device I can just get a new phone and be able to restore completely.
thanks

Kies 3 should provide a usable PC-oriented backup, also for some Google programs a backup can be done on Google servers and now there is a Samsung Cloud option.
That being said I believe none of the options above is as good as having a rooted device and Titanium Backup
You could try Helium.
I think the Samsung cloud option is the best way

so will samung cloud work as well as icloud does in terms of backing up and restoring A FULL BACKUP
I don't think it backs up the memory card

Use MyPhoneExplorer pc-app. You can backup pretty much everything. This + Kies, you cannot lose much

Helium also did the trick to me fine

Hey everyone,
I recently noticed weird things happening with my phone. The most annoying thing is that my Samsung keyboard doesn't save my words to the dictionary. It's saved for the moment when I have the keyboard in use. Once I close the chat and the keyboard is gone, the next time, the words I just 'saved' are gone. Also all my previous words I saved before were deleted?
Can anybody help? This is so annoying!
Thanks in advance.
Do you think a factory reset will help? What data will be deleted then when I factory reset?
You might go to settings then language & input then Samsung keyboard scroll down then rest settings

Try this it should work go to settings then applications manager then all then scroll down alphabetically and look for samsung keyboard and clear data.
If didn't work i think you need to factory rest yor device but backup all your data first.

Didn't work. I was so sure that your post would help.
What exactly is going to be deleted when I factory reset? How can I backup data from my apps? I'm not rooted... Thanks in advance.

Factory reset is going to erase all your data including pic, music, apps and... ETC if they stored in your internal Sd card
You are not rooted so the best way to backup your data and apps including the pic and music is by downloading Kies 3 from here
