[Q] Axvoice Internet Calling on Nexus S - Nexus S General

Just purchased an Axvoice account and not having luck getting it to work on my Nexus S after adding the account in "Call settings". I think my SIP account details under Call settings is set correctly:
Server: magnum.axvoice.com
Outbound proxy address: (blank)
Port number: 5060
Transport type: UDP
Was expecting things to work fairly transparently like T-Mo uma calling on the G2, but can't seem to make or receive calls I dial. I'm really new to SIP calling... am I missing something really big here?

MMS Settings (Cyprus)

I spent a long time with CYTA's customer service trying to get the correct mms settings. So, to save other Kaiser and P3600 owners in Cyprus from all the trouble, here they are:
MMS options
Servers
server name: cytamobile
gateway: 212.31.96.161
port number: 9201
server address: http://mmsc.cyta.com.cy
connect via my isp
settings
connections
connections
my isp
new isp
name: mms gprs
modem: cellular line (GPRS, 3G)
access point name: cytamobile
usename: user
password: pass
advanced
server
use specific server address: 195.14.130.186
I hv been trying myself as well the same; the only difference I found on my attempts was the server setting which obviously made a difference and allowed me to send an mms.
However I didn't manage to receive the mms (i sent it to myself) since it says 'error synchronizing'.
To add my two cents, you hv to send an sms to 8000 number writing 'on mms' (w/o the quotes).
Also, if you want to use internet connection with your pda thru gprs/3g and you don't have any subscription (we are still talking about cyta - the local carrier) you can use for your connection the access point 'internet' w/o any user or pass.
yeap. you have to activate the mms option either by calling customer services, or by sending the text as you ve suggested, or by logging on to cytamobile-vodafone

fring and tesco sip
being trying today and set user as phonenum of tip, pass as password set up, proxy as sip.tescointernetphone.com in fring, and it rings on incomming with caller id, but hangs up when answered, and out does not work, it hangs up before first ring. i assume it is not negotiating a audio codec stream channel between end points, but the sip protocol layer is working to inform.
i hope it does work soon, as it is a bit of a pain in the arse.
trying this at moment
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=VoIP_on_Windows_Mobile_6 and
ftp://xda:[email protected]/WM6VoIP.CAB
and
http://thinkabdul.com/2007/04/25/sip-config-loader-free-utility-to-automatically-configure-load-_setupxml-file-for-sip-voip-on-windows-mobile-60-device/
gets TIP available on a 3g network with data plan.
will try calls later after top up
no need for fring
Anyone else having any problems / luck getting this up and running?
I using these settings from the first post above, but get the "No Service" error on my device. sipgate settings work fine and I can use the same TIP settings in XDA-Lite without any problems at all!
Hi.
I have never tried to set up tesco on WM but have manged to get it to work on Symbian. The way I got it to work was to leave the proxy settings blank and just filled the registrar settings with 'sip.tescointernetphone.com'.
It was alot of trial and error. I'm sure you can do it.
Good luck.
Tesco Internet Phone
Had no luck with the voip in wm6, so been using this software, using tesco iax settings.

Not as nice looking as keypad ets in wm6 but works ok.
It used to work
I did get it working at one point, but it has been No Service for many months now.
PPC-IAX works
Just wondered about the other settings for input and output.
Tesco Internet Phone settings on fring
download fring on your mobile
register and then login
then click on sip
go down the list list and choose other
you will be asked to enter thefollowinguser:
ID enter your tescointernet phone number
eg 0207432****
password enter the passwrod for your tescointernetphone it is the same one as the one for the account .
proxy address type the following : sip:voicedot.net.uk.sbc.lon.uk.voicedot.net
enjoy tescointernetphone on your mobile
the good thing about fring it can connect you via 3g connection or a wi fi connection . 3g connection is better quality but you need tocheck with your phone provider if they will charge you for the data use

Problem sending e-mails from gmail account on Windows Mobile

Hi
I’m having problem with sending e-mail from HTC Touch DIamond using my gmail account. Receiving works fine but when I’m trying to send I get this error:
“The message(s) could not be sent. Check that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct. Then try sending again.”
My gmail account settings are:
Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com
Account type: IMAP4
User name: [email protected]
Outgoing (SMTP) mail server: imap.gmail.com
Outgoing server requires authentication: YES
Use the same user name and password for sending e-mail: YES
Require SSL for Incoming e-mail: YES
Require SSL for Outgoing e-mail: YES
Network connection: The Internet
Does anybody have gmail working on Windows Mobile 6?
You mixed s.th. up with the SMTP Server:
>Outgoing (SMTP) mail server: imap.gmail.com
Try: smtp.gmail.com
Tobbi
Thanks but it doesn't help. I just tried all different variants and sending still gives this error.
Do you tick "Use the same user name and password for sending e-mail" in Outgoing mail server section?
I may have misread but can you explain to us what medium you are sending your mail over IE WiFi, Bluetooth, GPRS, EVDO, 3G, NextG, EDGE, CDMA etc
As a thought, if it is WiFi, you sometimes need to make your outgoing server the same as your hosting company (that hosts the internet connection which you are WiFi'ing to).
IE If I am in an office that uses Bigpond BRoadband (Telstra, Australia) then my outgoing needs to be.
Outgoing: Mail.bigpond.com
Incoming: Mail.gmail.com
This Link should solve your problems.

Cannot access Gmail through native email app

After setting up access to my Gmail account through the native email tool, when I do a send/receive, I get and error saying:
"Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings. etc..."
The only time I can do a successful send/receive is when my X1 is connected to my laptop - then I get all my emails. I have already appplied Windows Mobile 6.1 Hot Fix for Sending POP and IMAP E-mail.
I suspect some settings might be wrong - everything else is working fine. Am even getting 3G in SoCal using AT&T on MediatNet. My settings are as follows:
Access point name: wap.cingular
Domain: <blank>
Proxy Setting
Proxy Server: wireless.cingular.com
HTTP: wireless.cingular.com:80
WAP: <blank>
Secure WAP: <blank>
Socks: localhost:1080
Could anyone help? Thanks in advance.
almost certainly its because you are using a WAP connection.
I've never been able to use POP or SMTP on any phone through a WAP connection.
Try using the APN for cingular full internet
a quick google comes up with:-
APN: isp.cingular
User: [email protected]
Pass: CINGULAR1
but don't quote me, and you may need to check with cingular whether they need to change something their end to enable you to use that APN
Im pretty new to email on my phone but i had the same problem i.e. if i was on wireless i could get mail but if i connected via gprs i would get the same error, can not connect etc, i had to set up and new account with the same details as the account which would send and recieve via wirless and tell it to connect via t-mobile internet as there wasnt an auto option, so i now have two accounts for the same email one accesses via the internet and one via t-mobile internet, you can change this if you edit account setup.
Not sure if this is your problem or if i have read it wrong.
Hope this helps
Hi Masseur,
Thanks for the pointer. I did try but looks like it made no difference. Not sure what's wrong from my settings.
Anyone else has seen this? Would appreciate any help. Thanks.
Folks,
Someone in another forum pointed me to the solution. As it turn out, gmail doesn't work off proxys with AT&T. The automatic setup for AT&T had the proxy checked. All was needed is to take out the proxy and just keep the http settings. Working now!

Yotaphone 2 and Android 6.01: Using sipgate with standard Phone App

I want to use the sipgate phone service with the standard Phone App. I just cannot get it to work properly.
I can connect perfectly to sipgate with my router, so I know my sipgate account is working and I have the correct settings. This is what I tried to do on my YD201 with active WiFi connection (obviously giving a false number for my SIP-ID in this description):
I Started the phone app and clicked on the 3-point menu, top right.
Settings / Calls / Calling accounts
All calling accounts: Select which account can make calls
X-Divert: (empty)
SIP accounts:
- Added a SIP account as follows:
- Username: 1234567 (my SIP-ID)
- Password: ******** (my SIP Password - all caps)
- Server: sipgate.co.uk
- Authentication username:
- Display name: 0203 ......... (my UK phone number)
- Outbound proxy address: sipgate.co.uk
- Port number: 5060
- Transport type: UDP
- Send keep-alive: Automatic
- After saving, it displays "[email protected] Checking status" for quite a time until then displaying "Receiving calls"
Use SIP calling: For all calls
Receive incoming calls: X
Display duration: X
Vibrating after connected: X
When receiving calls on the SIP number, the sound quality is great and all is well.
When trying to call someone, there is a terrible noise and no communication is possible.
I also have a sipgate.de account, so I tried that as well. The same thing happened, incoming calls are perfect, outgoing calls had a terrible noise.
I made calls to both my landline and Skype phone numbers and it was the same. Obviously there is a problem with outgoing calls.
I tried changing the "Transport type" to TCP, but no connection was possible.
I also tried changing the port to the STUN port 3478, but again, no connection was possible.
Can anyone help solve this problem?
