Hello guys, i have read in all forum, and i didn't understand if there is a native kernel for polaris. I have just cook a rom with 6.5 native kernel?!?!?(taken from same kitchen in xda for polaris) but i have a memory trouble. In Start\System\Memory, i have the totally memory program set to 100.75, but memory archive is set to 150.35 mb and i think that it's no possible. I have cook with la last ervius kitchen and i have taken the information from this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=669535&page=1, and i cook for 6.5 native kernel...i think...can you give me oemxipkernel native for polaris if esist??
Your post is really confusing.
1. Do you have a 6.5 native kernel or not? In one sentence you say you don't and are looking for one, and in another, you say that you cooked a rom with a 6.5 native kernel.
2. I don't follow you at all when you say that you've got the memory set to 100 MB in one place and 150 MB in another. Maybe someone else understands.
I don't know if there's a 6.5 kernel for the Polaris. I would doubt that there is, given that it's an older device. If you don't have one, then make sure you set the kitchen to cook for a 6.1 kernel. There is a thread with all of the 6.5 kernels. Just search for it.

hi pinuzzzooo,
for starters, there is a kernel for wm6.5...cant point to you where but its around in polaris thread, look for it please...
second you must be talking about ram and flash mem...
ram = memory program...since its 100.75 you are using a patched kernel...so no 3D drivers will work...
memory archive = flash mem, aka phone mem...if you have it at 150.35...my guess is you have xpr compression plus have nothing cooked in or just the min possible...
the only way for you to check if its a wm6.5 kernel is cooking all modules "as is"...if rom boots its native wm6.5 kernel...else...its just wm6.1 or lower...and will get stuck somewhere...
hope now you understand those differences...
cheers
@Farmer Ted
excuse me, but my english is very bad...however i asked if there is a real native 6.5 kernel for my polaris, because i have found "a native 6.5 kernel for polaris", but i haven't the knowledge for understand if it is real or it is only a fake, so i asked there after that i have trying to cook a rom by myself.
@pcarvalho
thank you for your opinion...All is clear...I have trying it and then i think it's better to post in polaris section for question about the kitchen, or in alternative a moderator could move this thread to right section...
I reserved for later to post the build.log and some question not too clear...Thank you...

Hi,
I am currently using oskitchen to build a 6.5.5 os with sense. I have windows 6.5.5 and used HTC HD2 stock rom 1.66 and compiled successfully. When I flashed it on my HD2 phone the sense screen was not alligned properly, it had moved about 10 pixles down the screen. I assume this is because it is an older version and not calibrated for 6.5.5.
I have tried searching for an updated sense that I can use with 6.5.5 and oskitchen but haven't found anything that works with oskitchen.
If anyboy could post a link that would be useful.
Thanks
Stephen
Mod edit: Yes dumping a newer base rom will be the best you can do for your leo at this point in newer builds your ois old thread solved as tidus gives you a link
make sure you get a proper package. Sense should work fine in 6.5.5. There are stickies thread by +Que PPC which compiles everything jr.Chefs to get staretd. The position offset for dialer (phone canvas) - look for phonecanvas fix. You can either dump LEO S 3.04 ROM for latest ext manila package or get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6969492&postcount=43
Looks great. I will try later and let you know how I get on, thanks for your help!

Dude, you really need to read up before posting questions like this. All this has been already discussed and posted before.
Badwolve1 has written a good guide and its an awful waste if beginners dont read it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691789
I have searched and asked whether there are any updated OEMDrivers for the native Blackstone 6.5 Kernel? It appears some of the Topaz 6.5 OEMDrivers are compatible with the Blackstone 6.5 native kernel and there are ROMs out there that have these drivers integrated? In the dump of the latest official Topaz 6.5 ROM lots of the .dll files from OEMDrivers are modules that get dumped as single files in the final Blackstone 6.1 ROM. I think due to the memory differences between 6.1 and 6.5 this is beneficial for Blackstone WM 6.5x ROMs with the native 6.5 Kernel?
I don't have the luxury of going through each of the files/modules and cooking ROMs as I only have a single Blackstone and its my only phone. But it does appear this has already been done by some of the Blackstone chefs? If someone could let me know what modules/files I can transport from the Topaz to the Blackstone I'd be grateful - maybe an upload of a converted/updated Blackstone OEMDrivers kitchen folder?
Many thanks
Andy
The Mikenificent ROM contains some updated Topaz Drivers apparently? The chef isn't responding to PM's and any other requests I have made have gone unanswered so does anyone have a dump of this ROM or the OEMDrivers folder?
The link to the Mikenificent ROM has also gone...
Andy
Hi Andy,
I've tried my self, but it's not an easy task.
I'd suggest to identify the target drivers you want to improve from the original Blackstone 1.59 ROM, and then create cabs with the Topaz drivers and install them on top for a quick try. You may need to recmod some of them.
I have tried a few of them, but some are not compatible (E.G.: smarttouch)
An alternative is to ask someone of the users on the mikenificent thread for a copy of the 13.3 Rom, flash it and get a copy of the drivers he is using and compare with the original blackstone drivers.

That's probably the best approach. With 6.5 kernels, you can convert all of the oem drivers to modules (in my experience), and there will definitely be more modules among the drivers in 6.5 roms compared to 6.1 roms. If you want to test out some from a topaz rom, dump the rom and then recmod the ones you're interested in. I would just copy them into \windows with total commander or resco explorer, and over-write the rom module. Soft reset, and see how it works. You can do several at a time. For the hell of it once, I converted all of my oem driver dll's to files and then over-wrote the rom modules with the files to see how the device behaved. It worked ok (more virtual memory is used, though), and all of the files did load into ram properly.
I think this is what you are looking for.

Hi, thanks for the link but I already have that and thats what I am using in my Blackstone 6.5 ROMs. Its the OEMDrivers folder I want to update/replace with Topaz drivers that:
1. Work perfectly on the Blackstone
2. Are newer and written for WM 6.5
3. Offer better performance than the latest Blackstone 6.1 drivers
I have already re-moduled most of the 6.1 drivers however I can't see any performance increase with doing this - I think it is more memory efficient to have modules but since the drivers are essentially the same they perform the same
I have already asked in the Mikenificent thread as well as PM'ing Mikenf(?) and haven't heard anything so far...
Thanks, Andy
Half the fun of cooking is experimenting with the ingredients and settings. I suggest you just get the drivers and find out for yourself.
Topaz Drivers for testing on Blackstone
Hi,
I did a comparison of all drivers Blackstone 1.59 vs Topaz 2.53.
Attached you will find them, split by function (some of them unknown).
I'll be start doing some test myself using some in my next roms and advise
If you test and work, pls also advise.
Any new news here?

Hi all,
i have just bought on ebay an Opal as spare-spare device (and to play with...since i like cooking )
I have cooked for Raphael, Rhodium and Kaiser...and all of them have a native 6.5 nk.exe.
I want to ask if someone wants to share the nk.exe they use with their wm6.5(.x) roms, since i never edited one.
My experiments will lead to a rom that i will publish here on Xda.
I want to hear also suggestions...since i am starting from 0 with this device (i had an Elf 3 years ago...but i remember few things about OMAP processors), i don't know if packages from latest Mega rom will be ok or slow down the device (on Kaiser they work very well...but processor has a double speed).
I want to say an anticipated "thank you" to who will help me
Hi Monfro! it's nice to know that someone new is interested in this device. I too have tried many times to find the 6.5 kernel for opal, but unfortunately it seems that nobody has ever created. I still cook my rom with kernel 6.1 and with oskitchen, but I have many problems... I unfortunately do not have the skills to change the 6.1 kernel... I know that ervius kitchen has a way to modify the kernels, but I don't know how it works...

Thank you for your quick reply.
I will try too to use nk.exe extracted from wm6.1 rom.
From what i can see your roms looks very good...and from what i read they are among the best for this device.
In a few days i will have the Opal in my hands and i will start to play
I myself find more funny to play with older devices like Kaiser and Opal than newer...because with new WM builds and new packages from other devices they get a 2nd new life.
I will try to look also in the Ervius kitchen the nk.exe patcher...but oskitchen is really more friendly
you can start with it:

I already found that thread...and tryed to download the package today...but 4shared was down and i didn't succeed.
I hoped to find a nk.exe modified for wm6.5
I will try in the next days.
I already used Ervius Kitchen, but never tryed the hybrid option with nk.exe from 6.1 and the 6.5 sys.
Domani torno in Italia per 3 settimane...lavorerò da casa col mio pc...penso di riuscire a giocare un pò costruendo rom per l'Opal

Hi,
I am looking to cook WM6.5 ROM for my HTC Diamond. I would like to have native XIP with OEMDrivers from un-touched donor ROM, based on the leaked WM6.5 Diamond ROM called "pine ROM" from the thread "WM6.5 Native Kernel (nk.exe) for Diamond (stable now!!!)"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=546174
Unfortunately, most of the source on rayfile and rapidshare are long gone. Can someone who still keep it please kindly upload the file for download.
Thank you in advance.

Funny that you've written that now. Just a day ago I checked pine rom link at rayfile - it works.
HD2Owner downloaded it and cooked for Diamond the day before yesterday. PM him - he's a nice guy and will share the source.
here we go... finally two days ago i was able to get my hands on this one...
searched long time for a working link. here is my re-uploaded file.
RUU_Diamond_HTC_CHS_Pine_Diamond_WM6.5_23009_debug.rar (64.29 MB)
to properly dump it with osbuilder i had to rename flash.nb0 to flash.nb
i also recomment to check out my new diamond pine based osb-kitchen (link below):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17180071
Thanks, folks. I finally get hold of "pine ROM".
Hi,
There seems to be another source of Diamond native kernel by Monkey Bape as of:
NEW NATIVE KERNEL FOR DIAMOND POSTED by MonkeyBape
http://bbs.rombeta.com/thread-29326-1-1.html
The mirror in rapidshare is long gone. The original source seems to be from rayfile, but I cannot find its link to it. Can someone who still has the copy upload it somewhere for sharing? Link to the original rayfile source is also ok.
Thank you in advance.
kjliew, actually - the links posted by HD2O - downloadable.
If you prefer to choose the hard way - it's up to you:
This is a pine rom at raysource: http://www.rayfile.com/zh-cn/files/a6382cfa-7cf0-11de-8774-0014221b798a/
This is 6.5 XIP only: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=214501&d=1249849540
Hi AndrewSh,
I already got the Pine ROM. What I meant to find is another ROM posted by MonkeyBape. The Pine ROM is build 23009, the one from MonkeyBape seems to be build 21867. Both leaked ROMs are in flash.nb0 format.
kjliew, I suppose changing sys for new one in this rom is not a big deal. The main thing is 6.5 kernel and compatible OEM, no? And I doubt that monkeybape had different nk than that one posted.
HD2O posted ready kitchen with latest COM2 included. Why not to cook a new stuff?
AndrewSh, I am not after the SYS of the leaked ROM, but the OEMDrivers. I am wondering if that ROM has a more recent OEMDrivers than the one from Pine ROM. I have no issue cooking up WM6.5 ROM with the Pine ROM I have by importing the latest SYS from TMO Leo 3.14 ROM.
Yes, it is a different nk, and it is available in another post as NATIVEdiamond6050.7z. Unfortunately, that source has been EVK-lized, but I don't use EVK for cooking. That's why I am looking for the untouched flash.nb0 to dump it in my own kitchen.
Anyway, thanks for you help.
Hi all.
I'm creating a Windows Mobile Rom.
1)---I want to create a rom modifying my smartphone's rom and NOT creating a rom from a clean one (it will be almost impossibile).
2)---Which kitchen can i use?
3)---Where can I download the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5 Builds? (Da-G's download don't work anymore on Mediafire)
Thanks
Try OS Builder as this is the most advanced and all in one solution. But be aware that if you start from an already cooked ROM you may face many kinds of problems because many cooks have applied methods to prevent dumping their ROMs.
Good luck!

But, to pass from Winmo 6.0 to Winmo 6.1 or 6.5, do I need 6.1 or 6.5 builds (xip, sys)?
Where can I download these build?

Oh well - you are much on your own with this old stuff now. Usually you cannot do much to the XIP (Kernel) parts as they are largely HW dependent. SYS is part of the ROM anyway and so part of regular cooking. Lookup the forums for your device and download what you can get. If it is an exotic device your chances are ~zero to get anything useful. If you have no experience in cooking it is a very long way to succeed (talking in weeks and months of learning!) - and there no others fighting the same problems any more. Look up the introduction link from my signature to get an idea of how things are connected.
What is your starting point (HW, ROM) and where do want to go?
TOBBIE, in practice I want to use Os Kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=628948) because it's very simple to use.(I can alredy use it).
I downloaded but when I open it, I have the first screen (that showed in the thread). Is written: "....please, select an official rom update file..." It refers to an update Windows Mobile Build for cook the Rom.
So I searched Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5 Builds. I found 2 very good Builds from Da_G :
-6.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547314
-6.5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445
But ALL Links don't work and I ABSOLUTELY need this Build, without it, I can't cook...
Sorry, I have no experience with OS Kitchen. I have only used OS Builder finally and a very old device specific batch-kitchen before this.
Thanks, Can i give you "THANKS"?
But with wich build did you used to cook?

Well first you need to split smartphone (no touchscreen) from touchscreen devices.
I have cooked only for smartphone -> see my signature kitchen and stuff is all there.
Then find a stock ROM for the right type (smartphone or touchscreen) with largely similar properties (screen resolution, maybe also CPU/Chipset).
Can't you tell which device you want to cook for?
I want to cook for my Toshiba Portege G910 with WinMob 6 Professional.
It's touchscreen, it has Qwerty Keyboard, it has Wvga Resolution 800x480. There is not even a rom for this device.
But I want to cook in Italian language, (I'm italian )
This will be tough I guess. Mind that a new ROM will not change the kernel, so any of the new memory schemes introduced with W6.1 and WM6.5 will not apply even if you put a new OS on top of it. So basically you will not gain speed with a new ROM. Adding a language is a tricky thing but is possible, see my signature, even without cooking an all new ROM. So is there no Italian on the device at all?
Oh, I'm sad for this: no extra speed
When I bought, my phone had italian language.
The Toshiba Portege G900 is very very similar to my G910. Also the G900 has WinMob 6.0 Pro.
An Italian guy made a Winmo 6.1 rom for the G900 (in italian language), and now the G900 is very very fast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4h23pR6JbI
I want to this with my G910, IT'S possible. Salvyc83 do this
(But now he can't help me)
Search for speed tweaks on WM6 if you are happy with the device otherwise. The effort to cook a well running 6.1 is enormous and it is not guaranteed if you get it faster on the UI then.
There are various registry settings to play with which can make the UI faster responding (cache for icons or fonts).
Good luck!
I need too to learn cooking roms. I will follow this thread.
