Streak from Dell

ellloooo has any one got one from dell yet i ordered mine last Thursday and they estimate delivery around the 21st why so long i don't know,just wondering if anyone has one from there because i hope its unlocked Sim free like they state on there website

They just called me and informed that they are out of stock and couple of minutes lather i just got email that my order was cancelled! and it was due to delivery 19th.
I got one from o2 notused but i need one unlocked.

Now that is a bummer hope i am not the same did they take your money because they have of my cc
I got one from car phone wharehouse first but sent it back because they said it was unlocked but it was not.
I feel sick now you have just told me that,i have just gone to their website and went through the order as if i was buying one and it says nothing about them being out of stock .
They should put it on the website

I tried one at my friendly local CPW and it was locked to O2 - bit of a cheek for a device that's listed as SIM-free...
I've found Dell's delivery dates to be pretty good, so here's hoping for the 19th...

You need a discount code from your Dell Account manager then you can ring the EPP hotline and order at the discounted price... normally its a 3% discount but the Streak is an extra 7% off until July 31st... As far as I'm aware the discount is available to employees of any company with a corporate account at Dell, including NHS, Local Govt., etc.
EPP phone number is 0870 907 5683 (although I was re-directed to a different number today)

Looks like they pluck the delivery date out of the air i hate waiting

I ordered 29th of June and my EDD was 19th July but yesterday they called me to tell that they are out of stock. After that phone call I noticed that my order was cancelled. Of course I contacted their live chat to ask what is going on and they apologised and asked if I remember who called me but I did not remember the name. After that they called me back to confirm new order so my new order is 5th July and delivery date is still 19th July but when I asked when it will be delivered I was told that 2-3 working days so I asked again if it will be this week and it was confirmed that Yes it will be this week as my order already finished production period.
So probably the container from china is already somewhere in the docks.

I think i will give them a phone watch this space

going to call the HM forces discount number in a bit. gona try and get full 10% discount and get the ridiculous postage of £20 taken off. will report back.

Just phoned up Dell then had a live chat with one of them and they both tell me its a new product and there is still an interim period of 10 days after your order before it can be shipped so basically BULL SH-T EXPECT IT WHEN IT ARRIVES why am i so impatient lol

just went on line to have a look at my order status and BLOW MW DOWN it says SHIPPED so it looks like the phone call complaining did the trick after all

dells online chat feels like a bot. total waste of everyones time dealing with them that way.

Same here, I ordered mine last week and have been annoyed by the ETA of 21/07 but I am pleased to see that it is shipped....
Time to pimp it out with some accessories- a Zagg shield and their case seem like the best options.

All these shippings they must have found that pallet they lost at the back of the warehouse lol

Dont know when you pre-ordered, but I ordered mine the second week of feb, since then all I've done is pace around and patrol xda looking for news. Its torture.
Still, not long to go now

2 more days till handtec ships two of them my way

Do you really think they are gonna sell out?
The only people that know about it are people who have been searching on the net for it. Iv seen no advertisements in the UK about it yet.
I'm gonna go to Phones4U tomorrow and check it out.
If its only on Orange then im not getting it until its available on different carriers.
Orange has gave me hell for the last two years.. I'm never going back to them

You too? I've had bad experiences with Orange too here. I'm going to try and get the Phone SIM free, failing that Pay as you go. Then I'm getting the One plan from 3 mobile. Unlimited data provides for one hell of a dongle.

I don't think I've been this excited about a phone since the iPhone 4. No pun intended lol. was told on Saturday to expect 26th delivery then a email at 2am to say 27th now nothing... I don't think its coming somehow

Phones4u just called me to say a SGS2 will be delivered to their shop in ten minutes.
Contract only though! Bugger.. the wait continues......

I just called my local Phones4U and asked if they are doing it sim-free and they said they won't know until they get it in tomorrow.
So fingers crossed when I call tomorrow they do it sim-free.

Liverpool store have it. Went in today and had a little go. £35 cheapest contract, on 02 they could do it for £37. I loved it, but like you already ordered with buymobilephones.net. Has your order been processed with buymobilephones.net yet mate?

They didn't happen to have it on Three did they? I'm opting for the One Plan at £35 over 24m if possible!
And they haven't processed it yet, no. I don't know why though. I'm hoping Phones4U have a good deal so I can just get it tomorrow instead, it'd be a lot less hassle!

I believe he said Vodaphone and Orange would be roughly £32.50-£35 with trade in; and 02 would be £37, I don't believe they had it on three.
As for buymobilephones I've just had an email back from them today regarding my query about processing incase anybody is interested. I suspect this will be same for most of the retailers online (mobiles.co.uk/dialaphone/buymobilephones) etc will probably all send out roughly the same time they told me:

So if they have yet to receive the handset, yet phones4u already have them in stock, I wonder when they will receive there allocation. Perhaps retailers won't receive them until the latest date possible (Saturday/following Tuesday) to stop them being sold and sent out early.
It did tempt me to buy today from phones4u, but at an extra £5 a month, it just didn't tempt me enough, considering that's an extra £120 over the contract.
Anyway hope that helps anybody waiting to get there phones; I guess we wont get them until Thursday/Friday next week now.

VAT=Value added tax (You Need to delet this manual from the original price and is like 96.00GBP)

Got ya. So it looks like it would save $70 USD. I have already put my order in with Plemix, oh well. Also, Expansys is out of stock anyway.
Edit: About $40 USD more than Expansys which is now out of stock for 2-3 weeks.

Plemix now shows that they are out of phones. I placed my order two days ago, early early Sat morning. I wonder if they work on the weekends or if I'm backordered. :s

I have heard they have horrible customer service but this is rediculous.

If you bought this phone from Handtec, did it come with UK firmware? Did you pay any customs tax to Fed Ex? How long in average it took from the day of order to the final delivery to US. ( especially west coast) Is your phone Made in Korea?

I had bought my Touch HD from them back in 2008 through google checkout. They shipped the same day and arrived in 5 days (or less) to Washington DC. Fedex dropped it to my door. No customs problems, but some legal papers concerning US vs EU thingies with it, which I threw to trash... but again I have read some incidents with customs... maybe it was my luck. Good luck with you. Decent company

I ordered mine yesterday, it shipped today, and it's scheduled to be delivered to my door tomorrow before 10:30am. I received a call from FedEx today; they said something about the customs paperwork listing electronics and asked what it was. I said a cell phone and the woman said something about the FCC, then "Let me speak with my supervisor and see if this paperwork will suffice." She came back and said her supervisor gave the ok and thanks.
I'll report tomorrow if anything unpleasant happens with my order, such as it not arriving promptly and satisfying my cravings!

Argh! I just checked the FedEx tracking for my Note and it says customs delay! It says "Description provided is insufficient to classify commodity." I hope the earlier call where they asked me what it was is all that's needed and this clearance delay will not change tomorrow's delivery. But the red color of the status bar at the top of the FedEx tracking page is rather ominous...

youd better know your fedex guy or stand at that pobox all day. they wont deliver to a pobox

Ordered mine Friday Nov 3rd. Got it Nov 9th at 10am fedex (weekend in there, so it didn't ship until 7th). No customs problems or delays. No extra taxes or charges. I am in California.

This customs issue is very frustrating. They called and said the FCC form is incomplete. They sent me one to fill out since Handtec is gone for the day and I'm clueless on some of the items on it. My phone was supposed to be here this morning but held up by customs because of improper address in the manufacturer box. My son already received his without this. I guess it depends on the customs agent. I called handtech and told him they needed to fill in the complete Samsung UK address in that box. Said they would but still seem to think that customs stops some phones just for general principles. Just received e-mail from FedEx saying the package will be here tomorrow between 10:30 and 12

$449 it's actually around $611 The phone is unlocked with no AT&T crap on it. Also has a hardware button which is great as far as I'm concerned. When you figure AT&T will be charging $300 for it, it becomes a bargain. Very nice to have a phone that if you're in Europe you can just throw in a Sim card and use it to your hearts extent without those exorbitant AT&T charges. I can also have it right away and not have to wait six months.

Am I figuring this out wrong? To figure the price in US$ for with the £/US$ conversion isn't it roughly 1.6 x £449 = $718 plus shipping on top of that? Did you pay just $611? Thanks

I paid for 449.99 + 14.99 EU's for overnight shipping FedEx, turned out to be two overnights because of our ultra efficient customs department. Let me get out my trusty converter, that's $632. Subtract $300 I would've paid AT&T for contract and about $200 for my old iPhone 3GS equals $135 for the Samsung Note and can get dump AT&T any time I want = priceless

Phones4u told to stop selling by HTC

I called Clove to find out why phones4u were selling sim free phones and they weren't, this is their response.

The response from HTC is that this was an error and all stock was not to be sold until the 29th March
We understand from HTC that Phone4u are no longer shipping HTC ONE
Our first stock (physical stock) is due on the 29th
We are very frustrated that a small qty of stock appears to have actually landed in Phones4U and shipped

I have just had a live chat with Phones4U and was told they still had stock and would be delivered the next working day. I have already ordered with them and he confirmed I should get a delivery email today.
I hope they are right and Clove are just trying to get your business.

Might double check my order then as I placed mine on Sunday just gone.

They should confiscate the remaining stock and send it over to Handtec

Quick chat session with p4u who said my phone is in the warehouse awaiting to be dispatched so if they are telling the truth I should have an email from p4u later on today confirming that.
Also if they get told to stop selling them surely thats worse for HTC???

I think they will sell their current stock, just miffed and so is Clove.
What is the point of having a release date if you are not going to stick to it.
I understand why they start getting stock in early but it's naughty to start selling when your competition are not allowed too.

Sorry but Clove are talking BS. They are upset they didn't get priority stock and are trying to justify it by saying P4U did something wrong. The fact is HTC didn't make as many as hoped. We believe this due to be a shortage of certain components. They decided to release the stock they did have, and for whatever reason we will never know, decided instead of spreading it thinly to many suppliers, gave all the stock to P4U (and some locked stock to 3 and Vodafone). I am sure it is completely up to P4U whether they are using that stock for contracts or handset only.

Exactly! HTC actually sub contract the handing on the phones sold on their website to a company that is part of the wider company that owns Phones4U.
TBH, before last week i'd never heard of half these websites people were buying phones from. God knows why people are buying it sim free from anyone but Phones4u, it has been and still is the cheapest place around.

Yeah, i agree, cos mine was delivered on Friday tee hee
