I have seen a widget on some custom roms like Modaco R9 and Lambros. The widget is by HTC it's the "call mom" widget. Apparently it was released for other HTC sense devices but not officially on the Desire.
I have seen an app on the market but it doesn't work on the desire I am running the AuraxTsense 8.0 ROM.
i also tried to extract the .apk from the pre-baked rom Lambros and to run it on my desire but it refused to install, after it asks for permissions it gives me message "app not installed"
I wonder if anyone has managed to install this widget without loading the pre-baked roms, I prefer my current rom and don't want to change it just for this widget.

I tried them as well but this widget "call mom" as well as some of the others (fake call) does not work neither, could there be an issue with AuraxTsense specifically? I had this widget working fine on Modaco's R9

Hi everyone
I tried to download Samsung Widget through the Widget app that is located on the default widget bar of i8000, but when i click install it said something like "errors occur when applying/installing the widget".
Actually, I have flashed my rom once and it is now a non-English version WM6.5.
I8000HZUJC1(it's not a lite rom, it's an official rom but released by the service provider, they only added some apps related to their service)
I've searched for similar issues on the internet and seems that not many ppl are having this problem, so was wondering, does anyone here have any idea or solution for this?

Did you use File manager or File Explorer when installing widgets?
For me, I'm using i8000 too but I cant install widgets through File Manager, instead i used File Explorer and it works....
You can try it out and let me know whether it works.

I Have an unlocked HTC Hero running android 2.1
The device is very laggy so I thought I'd try running the standard Android interface instead of HTC Sense.
I found tutorials on how to do this on Android 1.5 but this does not seem to work for 2.1
I went to: Menu - Settings - Applications
Found: Htc Sense
Clicked on: Clear Defaults and Forced Stop
Htc sense stopped but started right up again without asking me to choose between "Home" (standard UI) and "Htc Sense".
Maybe the 2.1 unlocked ROM comes without the standard ui, if so, any way to get it without installing a custom ROM?
On a Sense ROM you can not disable sense, the best you can do is install a different launcher (i.e. Launcher Pro or ADW) and use that one instead.
Try one of the 2.2 CM-based ROMs found in the development section.
They are all based on the CyanogenMod and do not have Sense
I would recommend either my Floyo (see my signature) or Elelinux ROMs, they are both up-to-date (based on CM6.1 RC1 code) and come pretty well tuned right out of the box.

ah i have 2.1 Sense installed ... can i upgrade to 3.0 sense,
so the softwareinformation shows 3.0 instead of 2.1 sense?
i want to have the new sense 3.0 lockscreen with the icons, which i can pull into the ring to activate them.
But how i can change the locksreen?
first i flashed:

then:
HTC Sense 3.0 Weather (version 0.5) for Android Revolution HD 5.1.x
then:
HTC Sense 3.0 Lock-Screen (version 0.10) for Android Revolution HD 5.1.x
but where i can change the lockscreen?

i rebooted, but i cant change the lockscreen, have no setting in personlize-setup
or should i flash the addon in a another order?
and is the addon: "RosieTrans5KD" and "Sense3_Mms-0.3" needed?

There are a lot of new versions of the add-ons you want to use. I'd give it a go updating them all through, then checking your settings to see if you get the proper menu for the Lock Screen. Make sure to use Kingdoms version or you won't get this. MMS is required for this though, but the new version will stop any type of FC which used to be caused by notifications,

I installed seo's mod TB Fusion http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077180&highlight=weather+wallpaper which is desire hd sense 2.1 with sense 3.0 elements, like weather and lockscreen with icons like you described. You can find it in rom manager too. Great rom!

I have just installed AcesMod007 ROM which is a mix of Sense 2.1 and 3.0
I've been using the 3D ROM that had the new version of stocks widget, but i have switched ROMs and i don't want to reinstall 3D to extract the widget.
Can anyone send me the htc.com.stocks widget apk for htc desire ?

The samsung weather widget and its weather application is much better than accuweather app in market. But I can not install it, always show app installed fail. And I also try to copy the apk to the system\app, also useless.
If you want to use it you have to use ROMs based on galaxy tab ROMs or Taboonay ROM (you can get Weather widget from apps,themes kitchen) (Sorry for my engilsh)
