You must first enable usb storage from phone.

i searched with my infant search skills to no avail. When i first got my Tmo HD2 and hooked it to my laptop (vista 64 bit) it showed up as two discs one was the device memory and the other was the SD card.
Now all i get is the SD card and it is named Double Twist. is there any way to get it back to what it was without a complete hard reset?
try a soft reset and have you tried the SD card with another device or with direct connecting to your PC?
do you have the mobile set to connect in hard drive mode? can only see sd card in disk mode.
settings menu all settings connections usb to pc - check the settings there.
i have it connecting in hard disc mode. I can see the storage card file structure fine. just not the device built in memory file structure
If you connect in "Hard Disk" mode you won't be able to see the internal memory of the phone you have to connect in "ActiveSync" mode.
thank you very much
Hi, I having a problem where it either takes ages (more than 3 mins) for windows to recognise the SD cards when I connect via USB, or else doesn't recognise there is any external storage connected to the PC..seems to happen on different PC's so it seems to be an issue with the SGS (my old G1 always works fine).
When I connect to the PC, It asks which type of connection i want, I select Mass Storage and then mount the SD card.
Edit: and when it DOES recognise the card, There are no files listed in it....
Edit: THis also happens when connected to Kies...both cards appear empty
Have you tried to use "Mass storage" option instead of "Ask on connection"?
Yeah, tried both. Now no XP machine will recognise phone...
Tried it on Ubuntu and works straigth away
One time after transfering files I do not hit "usb storage turn off" button and disconnected usb cable, now micro sd card not showing up, and even then i connect usb cabble "usb storage mode" not showing up.. Any ideas how to fix it?
Sorry for my english;D
I just got my G2 yesterday and so far am quite pleased with it.
I'm trying to connect it to my PC as a USB mass storage drive so I can have some of my applications access the files directly. These require the mount to be mapped to a drive letter (e.g. "g:"). I do not see an option to do that when I plug in my USB data cable. The only options are "Charge phone", "MTP" and "PTP".
Is there a way to mount the phone as a USB mass storage drive?
Wireless storage, can be mounted as a network drive. No mass storage through USB besides MPT. =/
Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I'm trying to put files like emulator files on my usb drive that has been converted internal storage (usb). My computer won't read the usb after it is formatted to be an internal storage.
I have the files on a sdcard but wondering how I can transfer all that to be on the usb drive.
Please let me know thanks!
As far as I know once you format any external storage as internal then that drive is going to be encrypted. This is the reason why your PC won't read it when you insert it back to its own USB ports. You can read it via NSTV if you connect it to your computer via USB cable as long as you enable USB debugging. To recover the USB for general use you have to erase it from NSTV/storage and then eject and then it might work again on your PC. I said it might because sometimes you would have to do a low lever format to completely remove the encryption. Good luck.
