DOES YOUR HD2 BUILD run IN RAM? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

There is a new thing going on now with the builds for the HD2. There is a genius named Darkstone1337 in this forum. He gets his clean android build to boot in less than 1 minute. Check it out here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870518.
And after you try it, torture your acquaintances by asking them: Does it run in RAM? Because ROM, NAND... that has become obsolete.

I'm downloading it right now !
But I have some basics before I use any build for daily use no matter how fast it is.
1st It has to be least battery consumer, Which I found best are MIUI's builds ( ~2-3 mA/h) .
Second thing is some builds don't wake-up from standby (no, not all builds have this) which I found that does wake-up are Desire Z/HD, MIUI Builds .
If these two basics are met, then my daily use would be DS's Froyo RAM.
Hopefully, It does ..

I'm consistently seeing 3 to 6mA after standby, which it wakes up from reliably.

Spikeys ROM benchmarks (3/3/10 - added Cyanogen 4.2.15)

I know some people don't believe in benchmarks for Android, so take it for what it's worth. To me, the results have been somewhat on point, in terms of the speed of the ROM. I will be updating this as more ROMs come out, but if anyone wants another ROM tested, just let me know.
About the benchmarks...
- All test were done after a clean flash of the ROM.
- ROM was never signed into Google.
- Only apps installed were Advanced Task Manager, SetCPU and Swapper(and benchmark apps).
- All test were done while in Airplane Mode(to cut down on background network activity).
- Ended all processes before running each test.
- Alls ROMs(except the Hero ROMs) had Swap/Compcache disabled and CPU set at 384min/528max.
- Hero ROMs were set with 96MB swap and CPU set at 384min/528max.
- The results here are from the best of 5 runs. I did not want to take the average because there were some inconsistent results that would have thrown it off.
Lower = Faster only for the first test.

It really doesnt take that long. Just flash the new test ROM, batch install a few apps, run the test, then nandroid back to my everyday ROM.

Is faster lower on all 3 tests or just on the first one?

Just the first one is lower=faster.

quadrant score on revolution hd 2.0.11

i think i have a problem.
i can only get a max of 1800 points in quadrant standard with revolution hd rom and setcpu with autodemand 245-1228.
why is this happening? i've done a factory default and the same.
Don't pay attention to these benchmarks... they tell you nothing. And noting wrong with that score, it's high enough, upgrading to ARHD 3.x might help.
If you are dumb enough to rate a phones performance on such bad benchmarks then..
Turn setCPU to performance
Restart your phone and kill all apps with task killer
Turn off sync/wifi
and update your rom maybe..
AR 2.0.11? AR 3.3 is already out...
quadrant scored really doesn't say a lot for the ROMS. you may have high 2000s scores but your battery lasts only have a day.. doesn't really means a thing
For me it was difficult to get consistent results with Quadrant.
Upgrading the app changed results dramatically.
You can run a benchmark now, and again in 5 minutes time and the results can be way different.
It was great at first but frustrating after a while.
For example: (on stock rom)
Original (2053)

}
Then I updated the app (1773)
Then 12 minutes later (1813)
Obviously many factors are involved but as Foladko and Baste07 suggest - I wouldn't pay too much attention. It's not as cut and dry as for example overclocking a desktop PC.

Big favor needed - specific older ROM needed.

Hi!
This is an odd one but I really need a specific, older ROM. I had a ROM installed and when you used the video camera (or perhaps it was for photos) it gave you a crazy slightly trippy visual, usually green and pink and in either lines or triangles.
I believe the issue was fixed with a patch, but I want the ROM with the issue.
Screenshot for reference:

Thanks for any help!
i think if you set it to full screen then this issue appears.
FreeX10 Beta 3/4 without the camera patch did that. Also Wolfbreak's CM 004 did that on 720p(High).
PS: I am suffering from memory loss lately. Check it yourself or wait for confirmation
Early version of trip's froyo mui maybe.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
That must have been my ROM i think. My ROM was the first ROM with working Camcorder but it had green lines in 720p it was like someone said earlier in a Version between 4 to 5
The Picture is showing AOSP Camera so i think my ROM or zdzihu one.
Thank you everyone for your input. I actually found an old backup I had by chance! It was actually rendeiro2005's [Cyanogen6.1.3]gingerbread[v01] but I guess it was in a few roms. Why I need this is a secret for now (nothing dev related!) but might explain later

I am using now samsung galaxy s2 which i bought used and it is from O2 mobile Uk
So first of all when i install 2.3.5 official in my phone its work good android system goes to near 14% and android OS goes to Like 5-9 percent
But when i try to pull something like 2.3.6 with odin it cause me problem of high battery usage again
So i do some research and what i did is flash 4.04 in ny phone
But thats not a full story i root it and install root exploler
And i unistall all ****ty apps like samsung hub, even gmail email
Yeah i am saying it correctly i didnt freeze them i just delete or uninstall them
And yeah problem solved
One more thing to new problem facers
Dude dont worry about that problem i check many peoples they all are facing that thing
Our Galaxy S2 is still best if you compare them will all other present smartphones
My advice is to just check if you are getting same battery timing in real which you were getting before all that
If your answer is yes then dont bother yourself with seeing battery status again and again and enjoy your phone
I hope this process will be usefull to you
I post all ****ty apps list later so you can delete them

Diary of battery-backup !

So I decided to share my experience with this phone, day by day!
As you all know, this phone (3T) has very different SOT to everyone, I was always wondering why some people (including me) can't get long SOT as others, up to 7 or 8 sot!
So I make a journey to find what combo of rom + kernel suite me best. And I will post it on this thread. Let me know if you want me to keep this up!
Caution: this is my own experience with my own setting. So just consider this diary as a reference
Day 1 (27-07): I 've had this phone for a week! And didn't get a very good SOT on either OOS 4.1.6 or OP9,10 and 11. Hence I downloaded and flashed OP8 which was best for battery (got it from a lot of users). Also I used ong stock kernel and no tweak and greenify at all. And yes, it really impressed me. I got a superior battery for the first time.
Here are some screenshots for battery. I used wifi most of the time , just about 15m of 4g. Most activities was surfing youtube and facebook, and brave (I didn't use chrome at all)

Day 2 (28-07)
So brave is less of a battery hog compared with chrome? Used to use dolphin but found that it didn't always work that well.
a word of advice...remove that facebook app and use some alternative app and c the difference
