I can always reproduce this problem. If you configure the "Screen unlock settings" to use a pin to unlock your screen then load up the default browser (in portrait mode). Then if you rotate the tab to landscape mode (while the browser window is up) it will bring up the window to ask you for your pin to unlock the screen. Even if you type in the correct pin it will just flash the browser window for a split second and you're back to the window that ask for your pin to unlock again. Basically you can't unlock your screen. I had to reboot the thing to get back into the tab again. So the problem is,
1) it shouldn't put up that unlock screen when you rotate the tab
2) typing in the correct pin still can't unlock the screen.
A bit more information, my tab was flashed to the euro rom using the instruction in this forum. The browser is just the default browser that came with the tab.
I was wondering if anyone experienced the same thing. Thanks.

Hello all,
I need some advice on a locking program. Here is my problem.... I generally use the power button to "lock" my phone before I put it in my pocket. Usually that works fine until I get a reminder alert or something else that causes the phone to wake up in my pocket. At that point the touch screen becomes active and all sorts of odd things start to happen as the phone bounces around in my pocket.
I really only want to lock the touch screen, not the handware buttons so I can respond to whatever caused the phone to lock up in the first place, i.e. reminder, incoming call, etc.
I also need it to be easy to unlock the touch screen using one hand and without entering a security code.
Thanks,
Jay
I use Lockdown: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1795969
it's small and simple.
Lockdown
Looks almost like what I need except it also locks the hardware buttons. I only want to lock the touch screen.

the closest thing I can think of for you is....
step 1.
menu » settings » personal » buttons » lock » do not lock buttons.
this will only lock the screen and not the hardware buttons (with the exception of the d-pad.)
step 2 is to set up the enable the device lock which is different than the security lock due to the fact it DOES NOT require a password to unlock the phone.
menu » settings » today » items » and check the box for "device lock".
--------------------
I tested it and it only takes 1 screen tap to lock the phone and two to unlock it.
any email or text will not unlock the phone.
if you receive a call the screen will remain locked however, you can answer the call without unlocking the screen by pressing hardware button with the green phone icon on it.
-----------
that's the best I can come up with. I hope this helps.
I bid you peace....

I've been using DeviceLock forever and it has always worked for me.
I do apologize if there is a threat for this but with no good topics (many are wrong or misguided) I can't read all the threats in xda and you know it.
Specs:
Phone: Samsung Omnia II.
OSROM: GC Lite - WM6.5.3
Problem: When boot up it goes to the lockscreen with background of my friend's grandson and the slide to open button.
Sliding the button gives a pad to enter the code.
Entering the code and hitting the unlock button (open lock icon) it does nothing!
It doesn't go anywhere and after few seconds it returns to the slide button front page.
Is there a way of getting in the phone without Hard Reset so the numbers on it or anything else on the internal sd doesn't get deleted?
Thanks!
I have a similar problem. It doesn't accept my usual unlock code and I don't know why. I didn't change anything.
Did you find a solution?
Hello,
Recently i've gotten my S7E. The first thing I did is try to recreate everything I had on my S6. Everything works fine for but one feature.
I use a third party launcher ( Action Launcher ) and always used the 'triple click' to turn of the screen. It requiers Device administration rights to turn the screen off. It works on both my S6 and my new S7E.
Here is the deal. On my S6 I use the fingerprint lock, for obvious reasons, and the fact that my launcher has the Device administration rights doesn't bother it at all. If I lock it with the power button or when I use the Launcher to lock it, it allows me at all times to unlock the device with my fingerprint.
On my S7E on the other hand, when I use my Laucher to lock the device, it says I only can use my pattern (or pin/password if I had set that up as an alternative). But when I lock it using the power button, it doesn't mind that I want to use my fingerprint.
It is annoying as ****, since it is maybe the most used feature on my S6 in combination with my fingerprint. I don't know why Samsung (or Google for that matter) has changed this.
I've read several things. Someone had the same issue with the only difference was that he wanted to use a bluetooth smart lock instead of the fingerprint. Unfortunately, no solution.
The thing I'm asking here:
Is there any way to AND keep the possibility to lock the device with the gesture (triple click) AND use my fingerprint.
Things I've done/tried so far:
1. Install another app that does the same thing. There are several on Google Play, but the issue persist.
2. Try to set up a shortcut that triggers the activity of turning of the screen. I haven't found the activity in the (very long) list. Maybe someone knows the activity that triggers the device to go to sleep, that would be one solution.
3. Found out IT HAS TO BE possible. If you go to the dialer, then enter *#0*# you find the service menu. In that menu you have an option to try if putting the device to sleep works. It's the 'Sleep' button. It turns of the screen and locks it with the possibility to unlock it with my fingerprint. So I figured there is an software solution to put the device to sleep, without the Device administration rights.
Anyone encountered a similar problem and found a solution ( WITHOUT ROOT )? I would be greatful.

Thanks, I'll look into that!
When i want to use my phone i type in my password and the first screen the phone goes to is the call screen (last calls made) and sometimes i accidentally call people.
It is so frustrating, i have looked through settings and googled to my hearts content, but i can't seem to find an exact solution to my problem. There's a lot of people talking about it with the swiping method, but i do not use the swiping method but the password method. So no swiping involved.
Help?
When you turn on the phone, you have to swipe up to be able to type your password/pin/pattern to open the phone. If you turn on the phone, and swipe left or right instead of up you'll do one of two things: Swipe left to open the camera, or swipe right to open the dialer. Since you have a password set, it asks for the password before opening the dialer. If you swipe slightly too far to the right when swiping up it will open the dialer.
Love the fingerprint unlock locked-screen feature. However, it has it's drawbacks. Can only be activated via - PIN lock. How you set up a pin,and after that it gives you the option to use fingerprint as well.
My question is : how do i use fingerprint only!? No more pin just the finger.
Best part about fingerprint is that you don't have to use the physical button. if the screen is off / locked just hold finger and it opens.
Also. I am now using Action Launcher 3. Super launcher. But it does not allow the function to unlock via fingerprint. Does anybody know if this works ? Where is the setting ?
The pin is used to unlock your sim card, the fingerprint is used to unlock your phone's system. If you don't want any pin code, you can either remove the sim card (well, it will probably be a little bit annoying when you want to call someone ^^), or set the pin code to blank. I don't even know if this is possible, actually.
As phones usually ask pin code before system unlock (fingerprint or other), you probably cannot have a third app that would allow to use fingerprint as pin, as it would have to start before the system. Unless I miss an idea, I think you can't do what you ask.
Figured that it has an automated backup just in case the finger is not recognized . You either get the pin or the pattern. Never just the fingerprint. There is no way around this.
Another question: how do i get the list of apps to go in one single page. Right now With ZenUI launcher there are a few pages. Action launcher 3 has one page (option). ..Is there any way to do this with ZenUI ? I got back to the default launcher from Asus cuz of the fingerprint. it's kinda cool to have it. Even tho Action Launcher 3 is amazing.
What's the problem with Action Launcher? I'm using it with fingerprint unlock and it works just fine.

Clearly you only assumed things only from the setup screen.
OF COURSE in this phone we only use our fingerprint to unlock the screen. No buttons, No pins, No pattern.
If, that is IF, the phone can't recognize your fingerprint for 5 times in a row (because of wet finger, wrong position, dirty etc) it will then requires a pin or pattern unlock. This is why the setup ask you for your pin/pattern first.
