Hi, there was some server issues today according to clockworkmod twitter (twitter.com/clockworkmod) , should be fine by now.

I have been having the "Starting Download/Download Unsuccessful" market issue for the last month. It just did not work, no matter what I tried (I had tried every solution)
Finally today, I managed to fix the issue.
The issue was *NOT* related to market or google for that matter.
I checked the system logs on my galaxy s using *#9900# (dumped it to sdcard) and searched for vending, I noticed the error "D/DownloadManager( 3220): download aborted - not enough free space in internal storage"
I had enough storage space on the internal storage as well as the external SD card.
The problem was, my partitions were messed up. When flashing a galaxy s using ODIN, its possible to specify a partition file (.pit file). If u supply the wrong file with the wrong firmware, the partitions are messed up.
I also noticed the error "cant mount /dev/block/stl11 " in my 2e recovery bootloader, which clearly indicated something was amiss with the partition scheme. The phone worked, so I just ignored the error. stupid me!
To fix I downloaded the original firmware (from https://www.wuala.com/Samsung Galax...and Odin/Original Firmwares/?key=AfzUZSU4SpKU) and refrashed using the pit in the firmware archive. Market works now .
I have since upgraded to custom roms and market continues to work.
So in short, I would recomend you guys check if you are seeing any errors in recovery 2e. If you are seeing errors, maybe google's not to blame.
Well just wanted to say that even though I haven't used this fix - my market works fine - I appreciate your posting this solution.
I flash a lot on my SGS and SGTab, and if I ever get the market download bug, then I know I flashed the wrong PIT and will fix it with this knowledge
Thanks again.
There is another fix that I discovered after searching a lot.
Before losing all hope and reflashing(if you aren't getting the error described above), try clearing the cache for Download Manager, Market, Media Storage.
Then reboot. It should work. It's worked many times for me.
I was also able to solve my market problem a month ago when I did what the OP did... Thanks for posting this to help others!!!
I don't think it has anything to do with pit files or whatever. I have the market problem too and when I connect to my University WIFI I can't download a **** (I don't have a data plan on the phone).
But when I connect to an open network available around my work place, downloads start as they should.
So the solution for me is - connect to another hot-spot.
To sum it all up - in the last month I've read about 30 different "solutions" and they don't work for everyone. Android Market in its current form is full of **** and Google better start working on it if they don't want to be laughing stock for the ifanboys.
I don't have any error message on my recovery screen, but every once in a while I still get download problems (even on the same wifi network). I can't think of any explanation except for an error on Google's side.
I believe this is only ONE of the reasons. Many times I encountered the downloading problem, I just ignore it and wait for some while then I try again and it works.
BTW, the most time I have the problem is the indicator shows downloading reached 100% but "Installation" never start. Then I have to click "Cancel" and try again later.
I have this issue with 1 rom only! Axura... any other the market works fine!
I was having the same problem (even the 2e recovery message) and my downloads in market wouldnt start!
I have even created a topic here:
After trying all available solutions around there I ended up flashing a brand new JPO and everything is working now.
Didn't know that was the problem, nice find!
I am posting a link to this topic in mine, there are more ppl with same problem!

Hello there! I have Jellyblast v3.04 with Stock Kernel on my SGY. But I noticed there's no internet connection when I activate data network. I tried switching between 3G and 2G, but still no E or 3G icon appeared on my status bar.
I decided to go back to Stock ROM (DXLF), and after flashing it thru Odin, I noticed the E icon beside the signal bars!
Thinking my problem is now fixed, I reflashed Jellyblast (along with Kuro kernel) and updating it from OTA 1 to 4. But unfortunately, the problem still persists, still no E or 3G icon on top.
I don't really know that much about flashing and stuff (I'm still on the process of learning -- I don't have much time since I'm still in college and I also have work) but any of you experts know a possible solution?
Thanks in advance to those kind ones who will respond!
PS: I already searched the forums and on Google regarding my issue, but found no solution so far.

Hello there! As you can see I don't post much here on XDA, but I hope some kind people will help me.
So as of now I have Jellyblast v3.04 on Stock Kernel (don't ask why I left it on stock. I'm experimenting with different ROM/Kernel combinations) on my SGY. But I noticed that there's no internet signal/connection when I activate the data network. I've tried switching between 3G and 2G to see if the problem is in my carrier, but still no E or 3G icon appeared on my status bar.
So I decided to go back to Stock ROM (DXLF), and after flashing it thru Odin, I noticed the E icon beside the signal bars! So the problem can't possibly be my carrier or SIM Card.
Thinking my problem is now fixed, I reflashed the Jellyblast ROM fresh from the start, (along with it's kernel Kuro kernel) and updating it from OTA 1 to 4. But unfortunately, the problem still persists. Still no data connection and E or 3G icon on top.
I don't really know that much about flashing and stuff (I'm still on the process of learning -- I don't have much time since I'm still in college and I also have work) but any of you experts know a possible solution?

PSS: This is my second time flashing Jellyblast, my first attempt didn't have this issue, but after trying out the Merruk kernel I wanted to go back to my old ROM and kernel so I flashed the Stock ROM and kernel, then reflashed Jellyblast (I retained the stock kernel for experimentation purposes) up to OTA4 and now there's no data connection.

I am facing the same problem - no data connection. I tried the clear data and rebooted but it didnt work.
Any other ideas
thanks a lot.
Seems to be apn missing..
Flash stock rom via ODIN and flash fresh JB
Important to be with all updates one by one..(5 OTA,s)
Now check this
Settings->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names
Save corresponding APN provided by ur network Provider..
If it is empty ask customer care or try to create apn manually..
Now enable mobile data & Reply...
go to settings -> more settings -> mobile networks-> Acces Point Names and press the menu button then choose default APNs
guys please help me, i think im screwing up my mtp with trickster mode by clicking force fast charge when it is connected to pc, now my internal storage content is hidden as android cannot detect the file in file manager, but in storage setting my data is still there, tried wiping and clean install the rom back still the same, mtp to pc also dead as its not displaying anything even the basic folder like android data and etc are all gone ..in twrp all the data still intact and i can revert back to my backup file which is android kitkat and worked fine. but whenever i flash fresh lolipop through twrp this problem came up.
i hate to download other rom zip as i directly flashed from twrp
is there any problem using this method?
btw im using this zip from the thread
[ROM][5.0.0][LRX21T] Flashable stock ROM + Radio [NEW]
OP Imperticus
any clue guys to fix this mtp issue?
TWRP and Lollipop
I know on my Nexus 5, I had to install a newer version of TWRP because the Lollipop ROMs had to run an additional command to move the internal storage mount point to the appropriate place.
You should read the ROM thread and make sure that your Nexus 4 thread doesn't require any sdcard related "fixes" after installing Lollipop.
This is what fixed the Nexus 5 ROMs:

Good Luck,

Did you turn off fast charge already? There is no MTP with fast charge enabled.
Hey guys I'm after bricking my phone. I was installing custom roms and all had the same issue so i'm assuming its my phone and custom roms. I've an Alcatel OT 4010X T pop
I've tried these roms;
Muticon (ICS)
Xperia mod (ICS)
Some original rom by some guy (I taught it was the stock rom ) (Idk os)
----------------
Anyways in ALL of these roms I spot the following;
Settings are named cancel;
Always some spanish/brazillian/portugese apps
No keyboard in the launcher
But my main problem
Wont connect to a wifi network, installing keyboard.apks wont work, cant manage applications or go to about phone, in general doesn't allow to go through most settings.
I am prompt'ed with this message whenever I try to open one of these
Select an application for USB device
Application %1$s (In process %2$s)
Even If I install keyboards (swift key APK, ICS keyboard on ICS ) like notes / wifi wont work and manage applications idk why it won't work :/
Any help will be appreciated and before you ask;
the only backup I have is from my phones recovery not CWM recovery;
I can make do with stock rom / any other rom maybe if I can get my problems fixed :i
Super SU is still present if maybe you were going to ask and I can still enter CWM but not my phone recovery
On a final note I have the same identical phone with stock rom, maybe I could "take the stock rom" and install onto my phone?
Suggestions / Ideas / Help welcome!
