I'm assuming its a Market update..
It fails to install, I again assume because it thinks I'm using a Desire.

Hmm, got moved. The "anyone else get this" was more of a sub-response to my file posting. Wasn't so much a Question and Answer related topic.

Agreed. Will flag the mod in charge.
@ uoY_redruM: It would be better if you edited your first post with the link.
Woah, don't ever try to update your Nexus with an OTA update meant for the Desire. Bad things could possibly happen.
And I don't think a new Desire update is much news for us though.

Yeah good point. I just got home from work so I updated everything right after I posted that response.
It now includes the file and what is included in the file.

True, and it should be flagged Desire, although there may be things in it we could use.
The reason I think its a market update is because when the initial alert popped up it was a whole bunch of text and such then asked if I wanted to update now or later and if I wanted to use wifi or mobile data blah blah and in that initial jumble of text I saw it said Market.

Well, unless Gingerbread is less then 28MB I doubt what I received was it.
If someone wants to run through the file I got posted, feel free. I have no experience with this so I can't decipher it.

it clearly says 'Bravo_Froyo'...so Froyo for Desire...I guess it's a firmware update from HTC...but not Gingerbread

Yeah, I know its not Gingerbread.
Like I said though, it said something about Market on the initial request to download the update. I could be wrong, but that's what I saw.
Regardless, I discarded the file because I obviously can't use it but I do have it uploaded in the OP if anyone wants to take a look.
OP your thread is misleading people to think u got OTA before anyone else.please edit it.

Go and run it off. You're getting too excited.
I'm sure we'll get a source release soon enough.
So you got a FROYO ota on a DESIRE, why in the world are you making a thread in the nexus one forum?
Ok, I think this could be a Market update for HTC android phones.
That's because my colleague's LOCKED and UNROOTED HTC Desire HD has the new 2.2.6 Market.
And I know it has been changed because just a few days ago I was playing with it and it had the old market.
So question is, are Nexus One users also getting the updated Market as well?

Yes, my N1 and my friend's N1 both received the market update in a silent OTA today.

I was playing with my HD2 and while on this site, decided to try to download one of the other Android builds and it was working but decided to cancel it cause I wasn't sure it would work.

Lol if I've figured out your question correctly you can download any build you like, nothing will change until you extract the file downloaded and replace the Android folder

You can download anything you like?
And depending on how it's zipped:/rarred/7zipped you can extract it too, just best to be in winmo or use a card reader to do it to save on complications.
I'm sorry but although I've answered twice to this, WTF is the point to this thread!?!?!?

So if I am not mistaken, breaking the bootloader on the Thunderbolt was accomplished using a leak such as this. I wonder if this will be the case on the Evo 3D? I hope so, as I am considering upgrading to it.

Nope just was in system updates this morning. Very happy for those that own one since this is considered a "dead" device. I started doubting the recent purchase of it for my wife but now that she has it, the battery life will be greater with the extended battery and she'll have the newest software. I may troll around here just to keep the forum moving.

What would happen if the system updated by itself while my device was rooted? What would happen if it updated while many system apps were frozen by Titanium?

Don't quote me on this but I don't think that it will automatically install by itself. I manually installed it on my wife's phone. Not sure about the system apps.

It's actually on my wife's phone and sadly I am at work. I will try and do it when I get home. Fingers crossed.
Ah cheers for that But heres the big question again ... was your wife's Pro rooted when she got it? I am always unsure with that ... last time for the update, I didnt unroot and left some apps frozen and it was absolutely fine. This time I am not so sure though ... :/

Does anyone have any screenshots? Didn't see anything listen for what was changed in Gingerbread....I just ordered a Pro after having the original Droid, and Incredible, Fascinate and also iPhone. May give my girlfriend the Pro since her Ally sucks slow-no memory.

Me 2, got my update to 2.3.4 yesterday here in Houston. Didn't notice much difference from 2.2, main one being the new keyboard...and the updated market app I received this week was taken away.

There is no difference in the one Google will push to your phone. Vs. the one i posted. I got the OTA update used Absolute System Tools to store the .apk, minus the data, on my SD card, then uploaded it to my Dropbox account... There is no hackery involved. Not everyone is out to get you. Some of us legitimately want/like to help other people out.
