"According to a post from an Adobe employee in the Adobe forums, the first Flash Player 10.1 phone running Windows Phone 7 will be the HTC HD2, which should please HD2 owners who have been waiting for official confirmation that the phone will get an upgrade from Windows Mobile 6.5. "

they are only talking about wp7 series development and apps no phones will be mentioned
Did you see Engaged Show with Aron Woodman form Microsoft? If you don't, watch it! Host ask "It will be upgrade for HD2?" Answer:"More information at MIX10".
i think its highly likely that windows 7 makes it to hd2. for a couple of reason if not then why would he say to wait for mix10, second adobe would know what what where and why they are working flash 10 for. i mean they are specific with the devices getting adobe 10 not android 2.1 but nexus. last but not least window7 is late to the show if a plateform has the juice to run it. i think they will best served to get it on as many phones as possible asap. as the apps will give them money this time not the os. more phone with the os potentially more apps to be sold
I heard that WinMo 7 wasn't coming to the HD2 because it did not qualify. The stated reason was that MS has changed the HW requirements for WinMo 7 in that any WinMo 7 phone can only have 3 buttons at the bottom. The HD2 has every other requirement except that; it has 5 buttons at the bottom. Now, I have an HD2 and want WinMo 7 on it. but that was the word I saw recently. I hope the article was wrong. I will find the link and post it (if that is proper.)

Actually I'd say it's more related to the fact Windows Phone 7 min requirements requires 8GB of internal flash memory, since Apps wont be installable to the SD card.

That was the most 'legit' statement of the HD2 getting 7 Series till a few weeks ago...
BUT, It went like this:
-FIRST, they said the 1st Windows Mobile device to get flash 10.1 will be the HTC HD2.
-THEN, they said that they are not developing Flash 10.1 for Windows Mobile 6.5 anymore, because it is missing some 'important stuff' blabla. They are going to focus on getting flash on 7 Series.
AKA, the HTC HD2 is not getting 7 Series, nor Flash 10.1. Which again, was working quite well in that video Adobe showed us a few days before MWC.
sad to say but it think this phone has just died............. smh oh well i get my nexus one 2morrow.......

This was posted weeks ago.
And, for the record, only an idiot would interpret the original posts on the Adobe forum in this way, and only a gullible, unthinking person would repost the story without checking the original forum posts that were the source of the "story".
What happened was that, back in January, Adobe was still planning to release FlashPlayer 10.1 for WM6.x. They announced this, and mentioned that the HD2 would be the first WM6 phone to run it. By February, there had been a major change of plans, and the release of FlashPlayer for WM6.x had been cancelled, thus invalidating the January announcement entirely. Adobe therefore posted a new announcement saying that they had cancelled the WM6.x project, but that they intended to develop FlashPlayer for WP7S.
That's all.
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if the ACER S200 is suitable for Windows Phone 7. i have only a limited understanding of the requirements for running WP 7 and i am unsure.
I have tried to carry out a little research and found differing statements. Some say no current phones are suitable for WP 7 and others say the HTC HD2 is or might be.
I thought the S200 had similar specs to the HD2.
Billy
As far as i'm concerned they have tinny differences. So if HD2 can support it then Neotouch can support it also.

It is useless make even the same questions...
Hello,
simple question:
I have the chance to buy a second had HD2 at a good price, but only want to use an android device.
Are the roms developped already that good that I can use the HD2 as a very good android handset? Or is it better to spend a little bit more money for a genuine android handset?
Are there disadvantages on installing android on htc hd 2 ?
Bottom line: is the windows based HTC HD2 comparable with the HTC desire HD when it comes to speed, usability,...
Please search/read forum, these questions have been asked many times over and discussed at length we dont need you to ask them again.

As said previously, if you want WP7, you need to buy WP7. Until then your only going to get look-a-likes.
Hi guys!
I know there are quite a few posts like this but haven't found one yet reguarding the phones I am looking at so...
My HD2 is starting to get a little boring (working fine thou) so thinking of changing it! My requirements for a replacement are: Windows Phone native device (no Android device running a ported WP ROM or anything) and a full hardware QWERTY keyboard! Aparently that is quite hard to come by... The two devices that look best to me are: Dell Venue Pro and HTC 7 Pro
Thoughts?
/Anders
There's a device suggestion thread in the General forum where you'll get far more replies. You're going to struggle if you need a physical keyboard, no high-end WP8 phone will have one AFAIK.

Oh thanks I didn't see that one before! Yeah I am starting to see that physical keyboards are a hard thing to come by today Even on Android the line-up is limited...
In the unlikely case that RIM succeed with bb10, you might still have some luck. However I think there's not much of a future in hardware keyboards.

A bluetooth keyboard may be your answer, you can get ones attached to a phone case which slides out.
Do they work on Windows Phone? They don't on 7.8 I can verify but don't know about 8?
