so they moved it back by a couple weeks, kinda stinks but i'll live. if it happens again i will probably start to get worried.
Well the website messed up, I read over on Addicts that people that previously didn't have ship dates, have Jan 9th now. And people that had Jan 9th, now have the 15th-22 and there were even some folks that had Jan 15th-22 that now have something Feb.
Was likely a loop error, something like:
0 - null
1 - orders<some number - ships jan 9th
2 - orders< some bigger number - ships jan 15th
etc
They said that the error wasn't caught until Dec 15th, they seemed to fix it now. It makes sense really, I mean, imagine if they tried shipping 10's of thousands of units all at once, all over the place using DHL. I'm not too worried about it.

Note that only 50 people were affected by it.
Rohan had the following to say:
"There were few customers who took longer time to finish their order details (some 50) (this was in the span of 5 minutes) and by the time they clicked purchase, the first shipments were already sold. Around 50 people were told about their schedule and there are around 30 for whom schedule is pulled from 22nd to 15th and from 15th to 9th. Products will be released much faster though, this is the max time for these 50 people.”

Shipping date went from 1/9- 1/15-22. That's at least two of the 50 affected people. Anyone else get delayed?
Just some thoughts on shipping order
This is pure speculation from observation.
They said that there was a problem in the US with the server. I had the page on auto refresh every 1 minute. It brought the order form up at 7:01 (19:01) PM EST. and I ordered. My order confirmation says:
Order Number: NIO40XXXX
Ordered Date: 2010-12-09 17:07:57
That is a two hour discrepancy, so it was using the server time, not the orderers time.
The fact that it seems that so many more Adams were ordered from Europe than the US makes me feel like they did not have a server problem and therefore were able to get in more orders before the sell out.

My order number corresponds with others who are 15-22nd now, so it seems logical that the ship date is liner with order time and number and it was just calculating wrong. I was surprised when my original confirmation for my late number said the 9th. When the change came I felt it made more sense.
I am comfortable in knowing that all of the XDA'rs that get their Adams in the first batch will have all the kinks worked out when mine arrives a week or so later. Saves some much frustration and time that way don't you think!
My shipping date is the ninth. Probably because I ordered the one nobody wanted the wifi only lcd version.
My order status initially didn't have a shipping date but when they announced the mistake then I got a shipping date of the 9th. If anyone is interested, my confirmation email from ccavenue says "Thu, Dec 9, 2010 at 11:44 PM GMT".

This one is a bit of a sore point for me...
when I ordered, it said around 9 Jan. When they confirmed, it then said 15 Jan. When I check the order on the notion ink website now, it says simply "February"

and after on status page it shows me 15-22 jan what means 4 to 6 weeks
and now February what correspond to 6 to 8 weeks

Mine was also originally Jan 9 and changed to Jan 15-Jan 22.
Mine said 6th, then after a few days said 15-22nd. It has stayed there, so I'm glad. It was mentioned that they hoped to get out all orders sooner if possible.

Eventually doesn't cut it for me. I understand it's a pre-order, so I can deal with a bit of a delay, but the closer it gets to the Xoom release date the more I'm going to start questioning my order.
Better yet, I'll start thinking about putting it on eBay! It looks like a few people are making a pretty good margin on re-selling their preorders.
How are you going to adjust the angle on the Xoom
camera for a video chat sitting at your desk or in a chair? You are going to have to adjust the angle of the stand it is on. That could be a challenge. Adam owners will reach over and adjust with one finger.

Rohan just posted unboxing photos of Adam in his blog.
Adams were shipped in 2 steps - China to HK, and HK to India. So, there is 2 tracking numbers for each unit and the 1st one (China to HK) is not share with a customer. So, I expect those people in the pre-order 1 batch will receive the long waited tracking number soon.

Mine, too. Jan9 to Jan15-22, now Jan 29. So, it's a shipment delayed, not pre-poned.
The February orders were preponed, ours were postponed. Possibly combining the February and late January orders

OK, time for me to post here, every post I have made on the NI blog is "awaiting moderation"
While it’s not life altering it is a bit disappointing that my shipment has been moved from the 22 to the 29th, but I’ll patiently wait. It’s looking like a pretty good piece of tech and I love my gadgets
There seems to be a lot of people on the NI blog who think this tablet is going to change their lives, I hope they are not disappointed when it arrives, after all, it is just a computer. Yeh, it’s definately the leader in its field at a great price… but it is still just a piece of tech.
My speculation for why there are delays is that NI are buying production time in a Chinese factory, so actual production days are out of their control. Surely if it was their own factory the production line would be running continuously and we wouldn’t have batch 1 / batch 2. Just my speculation and I have been wrong once once or twice in my life before.

My last one was a my 2 cents, hurry up and wait being something im use too, just chill no need to stress since the lucky preorders while have their adams soon enough and will look back and maybe laugh. I'm just hoping it turns out all good and I will get a chance to order also. Its just tech, will all be looking for our next big toy after this one....still eye'ing a kinect.

It was pretty clever of Rohan to blog about orders being "pre-poned" when in reality this only applies to the February orders which was the smallest batch of the pre-orders. Based on Rohans comment in the latest blog post, it looks like the next largest number of people were in the 15-22 range and their orders have actually been delayed yet again. What a creative use of the press...

WOW thats good 14th feb order shipped. I checked after seeing that and I also got shipment under process. Thanks for the up.
Don't be fooled by the "Shipment under process" - this does NOT mean your Adam has shipped. Until you have a TNT tracking number - assume it hasn't.
Now, I really don't want to call NI liars, without having the full information, but the reality is that the spreadsheet created by NIA members contains 800+ entries for PO2 orders. NI said that they are shipping in batches "every day, until 14/Mar". But the spreadsheets have NOT been updated at that rate - there's still only 120 entries that have shipped.
One might say, that relying on spreadsheet data is not a good idea, because data gets stale and not updated, etc. But the fact is, scine ESD changed to "Shipment under process", 170 people have already update their entries in two days - hence, I assume that any other change would have been recorded as quickly - or at least there would be some signs that there is at least ONE extra item shipped. This leads me to conclusion that Adams were NOT shipped in batches "every day".
As for the current status not meaning that it's "shipped" - well, for one it doesn't say "shipped", but there's also the case that it changed around the same time (weekday+time) as the ESD changed 25/Feb-10/Mar -> 3/Mar-10/Mar which, given all the other unclear communication history from NI, makes me suspect that this change is an automated change.
Once again, repeat after me: the order is NOT shipped until you have a TNT tracking number.

If they don't already have everything to assemble current Adams, indefinite delays are to come.
Those waiting to order an Adam after PO2, may have a long wait if they don't already have them assembled or ready to assemble.
This delay will affect even iPad2 and other tablets/devices, prices may even sky rocket.

The delay is more likely on Pixel Qi's part. And, divining from their website (www-dot-pixelqi-dot-com/), Pixel Qi's manufacturing facility is in Taipei. Thus, it is likely NOT affected (directly.) I really think that NI has all the parts, EXCEPT FOR the PQi screens.
Just my opinion, based on reviewing the spreadsheet OFFICIAL Mirrors:

It seems Clove is now saying that the release date is now "early-mid November" which is very disappointing. However, according to their Blog, anyone who accepted an invitation to confirm their order on the basis of a release date of 1 Nov can get a refund. If the original 17 Nov proves to be the actual release date then I'm not sure it is worth asking for a refund and risk not getting delivery on the 17 November or even before Xmas because you will have lost your place in the queue.

Do you think there is going to be a huge demand for this phone? I figured the price alone would hurt its sales. I haven't even put a pre-order in yet, as I figured places would have plenty of stock. What are people's thoughts on availability??

Hm, I was thinking that too - in about a month this device will sell at least 20% below release date prices. By that time there would be reliable root and a decent Touchwiz ROM. An AOSP ICS ROM will also likely appear before the end of November.
Problem is, demand is going to pick up with the Christmas shopping madness, so prices will not be dropping as fast in December.
I will probably get myself one of tthese Notes towards the end of Jan. - the usual retail capitulation time of year. Will not pay over 400 euro for a smartphone - even 400 is ridiculous.
By that time I guess it's going to be clear if you guys early adopters like it.

I don't think the device will drop 20% in 2 month. I took a look at SGSII, the price is still high, dropped 100 EUR in a year. Note might not sell the same number of phones, so you might be right, but phones don't lose value until around 4-6 months.(Unless Samsung announce: NO ICS FOR NOTE ) aftar that you et it for free

It is not being sold by Amazon UK, but by a third party dealer called Soteluk who are located in Germany and who are quoting a delivery date of 3-18 business days, so not necessarily an earlier delivery than UK based retailers such as Clove.

What they just told me.
I've placed an order with Phone4U, because Amazon don't charge until the phone is sent out, so if the Phones4U arrives on friday as they have promised then I can cancel the Amazon order.

Mine still does too, but the rep said that's the date the Link is going to be sent. THey're checking for definite with the main warehouse but I'm pretty sure all of the Amazon orders will be delayed. along with every seller in the UK. I've placed an order with P4U out of hope really.
I doubt this is Amazon's fault but surely HTC would have known of this delay long ago? So why only tell people two days before release?
Also inquired here whether any stock has been assigned, really quite a disappointing outcome really. Will update if I get an informative reply.
