Vibrate buttons & Search/Back buttons: light off - Omnia 7 General

Been using my Omnia 7 now for 2 days, and like it a lot.
2 things I've noticed and would like different are:
1) Turn Off Vibrate when you press Search and Back buttons
2) Keep on the lights under Search and Back (these turn off after a few secs after you press them).
Does anybody know if it's possible to do anything about that? I haven't found any options for it...

Me this stuff really bothers... Knows who any the solution??

Random BackLight Bug

Hi, first time posting! so hello everyone 8)
I got xda exec, i had this problem with the first rom and the latest one too. For some random reason when my phone comes out of standby sometimes my backlight is off. i struggle to see my screen and when i check my backlight settings (brightness level) "on battery" its set to off on the slider. When i set it higher my backlight works. Also my backlight button does not respond when this happens. It just randomly happens but im starting to notice it more and more. Any ideas peeps
Try:
1- pressing the button beside the volume slider.
or
2 - pressing and holding the power button.
Hope that helps

thanks but i tried both, doesnt work. the only way it comes back is by going to backlight settings. Is there a file that could be corrupt that stores the information about the backlight settings?
Is the box "turn on backlight when a buttonis pressed or the screen is tapped"?
Other than that i've not got a clue. Someone who knows a bit more? any ideas?

yeah thats ticked. the only way i get the back light to work when this happens is pushing the slider up, the one in the battery settings
seems real odd.
If noone else has a suggestion a hard reset might help, dont know if you've tried that yet. If you do this dont forget to back up everything.

Hi,
I think it really is the POWER button: if I press and hold it for a few seconds, the slider goes to zero and the light goes off. Press and hold again restores the old situation.

My wife's Magician did this sometimes too.
Turned out that in her case it was because when you hold down the power button to turn the phone off (for a second or two) it doesn't actually turn the phone off, just the backlight. (Of course it all goes dark, so it looks like the phone is off if you don't check too closely.)
Then when you press the power button to turn it on again (after it's timed out and turned itself off), there's obviously still no backlight...
May not be your problem, but give it a check...
In nearly three months, I've had this happen perhaps four times. My device has the "on-battery" backlight set at one notch, to save the most power, and I guess something must just move it that one notch down to off.
So far there's been no uniform circumstance, other than it's guaranteed to happen at night under low street or room lighting so that I can't see the screen to get to and re-adjust the setting.
A hard reset doesn't help. I've reset numerous times with different ROM versions and had the problem reappear - but very infrequently as I said.

RW6828 - Any button turns it back on

Hey,
On my JAMin I have the option in settings to stop any button from bringing it back when I've turned the screen off by tapping the power button (or whatever actually happens when you do that). Among the many things that annoy me about the HP firmware, I've found that the RW6828s also don't have this option in settings. Is there anything I can do?
Thanks,
James
I'm really sorry to bump, but this is a huge pain.
Does anyone have any idea on this?
press and hold red buton... the other buton will be locked

Disable Red/Green Keys when Screen is off ?

Hi there,
Is there a regkey to make sure the virtual buttons wont work when the screen is off ?
Example : I'm in a call, I press power to turn off the screen, but the device in my pocket...
Currently : if it press accidently the Red key... It hang the call. (baaaad)
Ideally : it wouldnt do anything except if I press again Power.
Any idea?
I think that 'aebutton plus' will do what you want...
Anyone has a better idea/tip ?
I tried S2U2 (Slide 2 Unlock 2) for this but it does not lock the buttons during a call. Maybe TouchLockPro??
I solved the problem with AEButtons Plus.
I set the red and green button to doubleclick, which works fine.
In S2U2 you can disable the two buttons as well.
Just look for the S2A Answer/End Keys in S2U2 Config
Thanks Tavos, I'm still not sold with "Why they changed this behavior..." (at least my TyTN II did it right... no power button, no accident )

Virtual buttons disabled when screen is off?

Just bought my HD and is loving it. However, the lack of physical buttons is quite frustrating, especially when I am driving.
I like to listen to music with the screen turned off. However, when the screen is off, all the virtual buttons are disabled. Only the physical buttons like the volume and power are active.
Does anyone know if there is a way to enable the virtual buttons even when the screen is off?
i too would be very interested in this. the buttons are not capacitive, but still the ability to wake / power on the phone using the front buttons would be cool
Unfortunately the use of the hardware keys are disabled whilst in standby mode and this cannot be changed
However you can use 3rd party apps like AEBPlus to map other functions to buttons like vol up
i.e.
Volume Up button
One short press > move up
two short press > play
Long press > volume up
and this can be duplicated with different functions to other buttons
Try doing a search for AEB Plus and read up on it. Also search this forum for other methods

I am already using AEBPlus but I need more than 2 buttons. The mapping is done by the application, PocketPlayer, and it doesn't support double press.
Interestingly, when you are making a phone call, the screen will go off initially. You can actually press one of the virtual button to turn the screen back on. So I thought there might be a way to achieve this...
How is your screen getting turned off? By PocketPlayer or by the system's energy-settings? Possibly try Display Switch (yet another little app as Part of psshutXP) for this. Found this in my Touch (ELF) Rom and use it for any app, that doesn't support display-switching itself. Keeps my (hardware)-buttons funktional...

Wired! Pwr Button became backlight switch on its own?

Hi all,
My uni's power button now acts really weird. sometimes when I press it, instead of suspend the device, it turns off the backlight, when I press it again, it turns the back light on again....
Now this is not always the case, if I press it multiple times, let's say I press it 10 times, 7 out of 10 it will switch the backlight and 3 out 10 it will power on and off as it supposed to.
Anybody has any clue what's going on here? I mean is it a software issue or hardware wear..?
Thanks Guys!
The power button will turn on/off the back light when it is held down for a second or two.
Sounds like your power button has got a bit sticky. If able, take Uni apart and clean it up a bit around the button.
very inspiring, will try that, report result later. 8)
