O2 Mini Asia ROM
Hi,
Where did you the the O2 Mini Asia ROM ???
I have an O2 got in Thailand and they don't provide any update yet.
Where to download an English ROM, v1.06?
Thanks a lot !
I had purchased a Dopod 818 from Taiwan , but the ROM inside was completely from O2. So i thought i will dump the ROM before upgrading, which i did. But the dump is 1GB ( my SD card is 1 GB ), so i am finding out a way to reduce the size coz the ROM takes less than 128MB space as i read somewhere here.
Dear All
I had uploaded my O2 original dump ROM to ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Magician/Original O2 Dump ROM folder.
You have to use NTRW.exe to put it back into 128 MB. SD card. I got this file from our friend from thailand (Thanks to PDAmobiz.com, XDAmini). I didn't try yet. Because I'm happy with wwe 110 modified storage ROM. Please do it carefully.
I downloaded the rom image, write it to 256MB sd card using ntrw.exe, insert the sd card into my mini and do a boot loader by pressing camera+power+reset.
BUT after a few seconds, the text below is shown on screen...

Everything seems ok now...

Did you finish your downgrade?
Nope... i'm on my way flasing ROM while i post the message...
After flasing is done, the screen shows checksum failed and i do a reset. Then my device dead...
So i was forced to use back the previous ROM in order to make my device alive again...

Dear Pehshin
I look carefully over the Original dump ROM. The header is not the same from my 110 modified storage dump ROM. I think we need to downgrade to any 1.03 ROM first and then copy the first .... byte. I don't know the exactly header byte from 1.03 ROM. After that copy it back to the download original rom. Then flash with the same fashion should be success. Do you?
ftp username & password?
where can i get the username & password in order to login to ftp folder? pls advice. thanks.
Re: ftp username & password?
Before asking please use seach for your answer.

When you goto the support section, if you have registered yor O2 Mini decive it will be under the 'Your Devices' section. Click on the 'Get the latest patches, utilities, software and upgrades here' link.
for the ones who needs it:
o2mini ASIA shipped ROM just uploaded to ftp://forum.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Magician/
extact the *.rar file and you'll get a 124MB o2mini_asia.nb1 file.
use ntrw to write into a 128MB SD CARD, and upgrade yr mini with SD method, and your mini is as when you just bought....
good luck.
interesting, I got a 240MB+ Rom image. Why is that so?
I assume the steps to write the ROm image to mini is the same as how we do backup (and extract the rom), except that the ntrw command is different.
what's the command anyway?

if you dump yr rom (with mtty) with a 256MB SDcard then you'll get 240MB+ image. if you use a 128MB SDcard you'll get 124MB+
as for how to: if you mean the extract (rom dump) and upgrade with the SDcard method, yes it is the same.
command ? for what, mtty ?? ntrw ?? please do a search in the forum .... (hint: How to dump ROM to SD..... )
actually, what I meant was with the original O2 ROM, how do I write-back the original ROM on my upgraded ROM, should one day I decided to revert back to normal?
Is there a software where I can read the ROM image and split it into NBF files for ROM/ExtendedROM/Radio respectively?
It's interesting that the ROM size changes according to the capacity of the SDCard. I suppose this is just the image of the SDcard, not really ROM, and part of the image contains the ROM.
Hi Johanesl,
What version of O2 mini ROM is there?
The latest one, or the original 1.03.00?

I bought my O2 Mini 5 days ago and it's shipped with 1.03 ROM. Now I've upgraded it to "V1.11WWE modified 27Mb Storage" and it's been super stable! I just love the O2 ....
Are there any suggestions to my problem? I upgraded my O2 stuff to Qtek 1.11 however I did not make a backup of my original rom 1.03. How can I now downgrade, only if I need to obtain warranty service, from 1.11 to 1.03. As I see it I could only do it with the original O2 software and not someone elses backup file. I have tried all avenues within the procedures docs etc. Surely someone out there has a copy of the original O2 rom software??
Hello everybody,
I have bought my new HTC HD2 from Vodafone Germany. I live in Germany and ,as all windows devices, my HTC is localized to Germany and the windows mobile 6.5 comes with the German language and I wanted to change it to English. I tried to download the ROM upgrade to "English-Arabic support" from HTC website but when I put the serial number of my device it says that this version is not suitable for your device and I have found another version "RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship.exe" and when I tried to install it I got an error says "INVALID Vendor ID" or something like this.
Finally I have bought a 3ed party software just to be enabled to read arabic but the language is still German
So please if anybody knows how to solve this problem and help me I will be thankful.
Best Regards,
Amer
install hspl then instal whichever run you like via usb.
i had the same probs here with vodaphone uk...
as above, install hspl, the sticky of this can be found in the leo roms section of this site and it will guide you, but the installation process is really straight forward.. then you are able to install any of the ROMS, be they official OR custom cooked roms..
My personal favourite is the ENERGY series of roms.. but have a good look about, im sure you will find many that offer the practicality and versatility your after!

Thank you very much for your reply and I have read about HSPL and it sounds amazing tool but another question about restoring the old system. How can I get the original ROM and restore the system to its old state after changing it?
Thanks in advanced.

You need to find the original rom for your phone, both region AND provider(if you were getting invalid serial on teh htc website then your phone is provider locked, so for example you would need to look for the german t mobile rom, if you got your phone from t mobile germany)
Once you have your original rom you can then use sd card method to remove hspl and restore to factory rom. You can only do this with your original shipped rom.
Problem upgradind German Vodafone ROM
Hi,
I have the same problem upgrading the Vodafone ROM. I would like to load the generic ROM or any other ROM that works with Vodafone. It can be English as well. If I try to load the generic through HTC site it checks the SN and doesn't allow the ROM upgrade.
What to do to load another up to date ROM without running into the same issue as Amer? There are so many ROM version out there and I don't want to risk trying the wrong ROM.
Thanks for help!

You need to obtain the rom from vodafone, or use HSPL / Gold Card to flash another ROM.
Thx for answer. I read about HSPL and will figure that out. I read there are requirements concerning the radio. My radio is 2.04.50.22_2 and ssems pretty old. Does someone know where to find the best guide how to do the HSPL install?
There are many ROMS out there and I want to make sure I will not run into trouble using it with Vada. What ROM to take is the question?
Danke!

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze....I am desperately in need of a Orange France original Rom, as i need to return the phone to orange and i need to get the HSPL off it and the regular one on.
If i put on a non orange France rom, ie. the shipped WWE one, or the French one, from HTC, they will know that i had to use a HSPL in order to overwrite the Orange rom.
Many thanks

Orange LEO - Original ROM
You can find it here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/357315236/ROM_Leo_Orange.rar
I didn't test it as i use TMOUS 2.10 and I'm good with it.
Thank you so much, i am downloading it now.
Just in case anyone does a search on Orange France HD2, be careful. I have two of them, bought just before christmas, and both are defective and need to be returned to Orange. If you have a defective one, it will start powering itself off for no reason whatsoever. The problem will get more frequent, until it stops powering up or accepting power completely. If you have a cooked rom on it, you will need to restore the original spl AND Rom while you still can, and before it goes wrong, or you will not be able to power it up to revert to the original ones.
As i said this has happened to 2 phones, one after about a month and the second one after 2 months...both have the same rom and HSPL as you can see from my signature.
By the way, i also have one that came from O2 in the UK (Jan delivery)...no problems with that yet...fingers crossed!
you find it in the forum htc hd french.if it's wrong I have a true one complete.send me an help
Thanks for the kind offer

Someone has very kindly posted a link to a copy of the Rom ( above) and am about to test it...fingers crossed!...Thank you so much for the offer though...I will let you know if it does not work!
The Franch France Orange official Rom is on this link and has apparently been tested by another member,,,I am about to try it!
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BC4FGYH4
Ok...this is the follow up....The Rom worked and is the French Orange one, only problem is it has not changed the HSPL back to the original SPL?
I am asking for help on this in another thread, and will report back when i get somewhere.
If anyone else has any bright ideas i would be more than happy to hear them!

Hi!
Before all, you need to flash an official HTC ROM that contains the SPL 1.42 (like the version 1.43.406.2) from SDCARD.
Just put into the SD card the RUU_signed.nbh extracted from this shipped rom, renamed into leoimg.nbh. Then boot + volume down.
It will flash it and change your HSPL back to 1.42.
After that, you can flash the Orange one with SSPL method.
I hope someone will confirm this
P.S. : I uploaded the LEOIMG.nbh file I extracted from the official HTC ROM 1.43.406.2 French.
You can find it here (it's a ZIP archive) : megaupload.com/?d=HRHGOJHC

I am downloading your image now...Thank you so much, as my serial did not work on the HTC site.
Also what is the "SSPL method", is that with the Gold card, because if it is, gold card method is no longer available.
Of course i will post how i get on with this, once i get the necessary rom and have loaded everything. I am sure this will be very useful to lots of people on here, because it is sounding like quite a few people are having manufacturer problems with their phones.
Do you think Orange France would be able to complain if the phone was returned with an official rom on it? I would have thought as long as it is an official rom and not a hacked rom, it does not matter if it is HTC or Orange's rom.
Another member is looking for a list of serials which i will also post up here when i get them, so it will make it easier to download the official roms.
Many thanks again for your kind advice.

1) SSPL allows you to flash cooked ROMS (so the Orange one too) without SPL and Radio, so only the Operating System is flashed.
You can get the tool here, with a nice tutorial : forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606713
2) It seems that Orange France is not as ...blind... as others french mobile providers. I think it's much better to return the phone with the original Orange rom.

you will need to use the Goldcard method to flash Cingular 1.xx to downgrade as no Shipped ROMs had been leaked for your device.

but nonetheless, if your Mondrian isn't Cingular (aka AT&T) branded you will need to do the same as Talbot. (see above reply). one can make a y-cable out of regular usb cables.
