Just reinstall the Fission Rom without wiping, as long as you are staying with the same version of Fission.
Which Fission Rom are you using? I can make a stock theme if I get a few minutes..
EDIT: This is for 2.3.1 only. Install as a normal theme, update.zip. And as always, make a backup first. This replaces stock services.jar and framework-res.apk

Flashing rom question

I have a question. I have everything installed in my signature, but want to go back to just the rooted stock rom. Should I flash that rom in rom manager, and then would it be safe to delete the other back ups and theme from my sd card?

[Q] Titanium Backup

I plan on installing the Gingerbread Custom Rom on my rooted Samsung Epic 4G with DK28 leak.
But, I want to know, when using Titanium Backup, I don't know exactly what things I have to backup to keep all my information and applications. (Well, I know how to backup the apps, but which keep all my information)
Could someone possibly give me a list of what to backup? Thanks!
Also, do you wipe three times in a row in cwm?
And after I wipe, do I have to reinstall Titanium Backup to restore?
What ginger bread custom rom ?

Flashing theme causes massive fc's and soft reboot

I odin'ed my phone with the dk28 8g md5 version then rooted but for some reason all of a sudden whenever I flash mysterious beast as soon as m phone boots I get 15 fc's at once and they just keep coming then phone resets. I have to re odin to fixit. Any help is more than appreciated. Thanks

I haven't looked lately but I am pretty sure what you flashed is the stocked leaked rom. If it is it is not deodexed. I believe the themes require a deodexed rom. Try one of the custom roms and then make sure any theme you flash is compatible with froyo.

Next time can you keep questions about a theme in the themes thread instead of creating a new thread. I'm one of the devs of mysterious beast and I would like all questions in my thread.
sounds like to me your not running a deodexed rom. All themes require to be deodexed at the moment. Theres a stock deodexed rom floating around that was done by ACS. All the custom roms are deodexed. You would need one of these to run a theme

thats cause of the battery mods in some of the themes. in order to restore succesfully you would have to flash the rom and then do a restore from cwm
I have the same problem, but I am running Epic Experience v2.0.06 on Stock Kernel. I don't really get any FC's, but everytime I get a text, missed call, or VM, my phone will soft boot. I am running a GingerBread Theme too.

Rom Manager Premium

Asked this question before but nobody answered. When using Rom Manager Premium and doing a "backup of current rom", am I to do this, then try another rom and if I do not like the new rom, do a restore backup and everything will come back just as if I had not tried the new rom at all? I mean everything. I use titanium backup pro, but it's still such a pain in the A to get everything back up and running again. I am running Trigger 3.3 beta right now and really am liking this rom and have it pretty much set up just as I want it now. Cannot see how another rom can be as good as this one, but it would be nice to try them out, and come right back when I need to without the hassles. Thanks.
So ur question is? Should u use restore backup on rom manager premium.. I do
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
No. My question is, can rom manager premium put everything back like it was using restore, after a rom is wiped to try a new one, without even messing with the hassles of using titanium bacup pro.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Yes, with the exception of your kernel. It cannot restore that.

Im glad someone asked this question! I thought the same thing which is why I stayed with trigger, but 1 question what if I have trigger 3.0.1 and want to try a GB rom then come back is it possible with rom manager?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
gingerbread and froyo are two different monsters! so no u couldnt but any froyo rom u can!
Well, you can get it back, it's just more work, but getting to GB is more work anyway right?
Couldn't you Odin a froyo stock rom with kernal/modem, then flash the custom froyo rom again, download rom manager, put the RM backup you kept on your computer into the RM folder and then restore the previous settings?
I'm interested to hear if others have done this. I want to try a GB rom, but I like to move around a lot and Froyo roms seem like the way to go if you have an itchy flashing finger.

Can I use the cm10.1 message apk on a stock rooted Nexus 4?

I want to keep my Nexus stock but I really like the text message app from cm. Is there a way to use that one instead of the stock message app? I'm assuming I just have to remove the stock app and then replace it with the cm one right?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Yup. Replace and set permissions. Reboot
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Replace it in root explorer.
Yes, just use any file manager with root access and replace it and then give correct permission (rwx-r--r-- I believe)
Also I highly advise you to make a copy of the stock app and place it somewhere in the phone, just in case.
ALSO if you're odexed, this might now work as it also needs odex file and if you are odexed and replaced the app, you might get into the bootloop I think. Never tried it on odexed ROMs, but I think that's what happens

I'm using stock. I'm not sure if stock is odexed. How do I get the app? Do I just unzip a cm update zip?

Did you do flash any ROM? If not, you have odexed ROM. Make sure to make a nandroid backup before doing this as I believe you might get into the bootloop.
You can easily get the app by doing that.

All ive done with the phone is unlock the bootloader and root it. So your saying that I should install a CWM and do a nandroid? Won't installing that wipe my phone?

No. Before you screw with anything in system, make a backup. If you break something, a simple restore will fix it.
The cm message app is system/app/messaging.apk. Extract it from the cm zip and follow the directions above to install it.

You won't go into a boot loop, only thing that will happen is either the Mms.apk won't show up in the launcher or it'll FC. Sometimes, using the newest one from nightlies will cause FC. One has been posted in the apps section that works and has what you're looking for. Its better to use any root explorer app and copy it to /system/apps and fix permissions. And like someone said, make a copy of your original Mms.apk and Mms.odex files to your phone..
Sent from my Nexus 4
If you're just stock rooted, you'll have to go in and re-install the messaging app after every reboot because the stock uses the .odex files to create the mms app, but there is a stock, deodexed, rooted ROM here, and you can just load the CM10.1 MMS into it and it'll work fine. That's what I did
Or you could check out Glowfly on the play store.
It's a pop-up notification app with quick reply support.
Made the same recommendation in a similar thread in the Themes and Apps section. I'm not affiliated with the devs. Just wanted to show support for a good app.
anyone know if this app changes the orienation of your photos from landscape to portrait? This seemed to be a bug on all roms using this apk on my old Galaxy s2.
