I've found signs of handwriting recognition in HTC Legend HTC_IME.apk.
(\res\drawable-mdpi\hwr_*, especially hwr_panel_high_bg.png)
How could I use it? Or is it available for Asian versions only?
Thanks.

Got this from HTC website(sea).
"This update for HTC HD2 enhances Handwriting function stability, allowing you to input Asian languages using handwriting as well as our on screen keyboards"
Is this useful? Sorry for the noob question.

It's probably the slowest and least precise way to type. I don't know why they still include it in WM 6.5/6.5.x.
good for practicing writing of characters... could you proved a link OP...?

Hi, so I took the plunge and ordered a unlocked Streak from UK today. And I was wondering if the stock keyboard has the special characters native to my language. It's not a big issue if it does not, but I am hoping they are there. I live in Norway and use " æ ø å " characters often. It's not a problem that the OS itself is in English, but I would love to have the possibility to write in my native language on it
Please give me a heads up if you know, and also a picture / description on how to find these characters if you can

I checked my streak, unfortunately there are no special characters that you needed.
However, surely you can download/search for an alternative keyboard which may contain the extra characters you need.
Ok, I was considering SlideIt anyway, since its the only keyboard with custom national skins, and I like the slide feature. To bad swype does not have Norwegian layout:-s

You can download language packs for SLIDEIT and they do do Norwegian and to be honest slideit is a lot better than swype
I use Scandinavian keyboard for writing Danish (supports danish, norweigian, swedish etc), requires additional dictionary in the case of danish but works really well.
layout is nice enough, has the special characters, and with the dictionary does predictive text and autocorrect etc
Cheers
ps no link due to post count, but search the market for 'scandinavian keyboard'
coming from a 1st Gen iPhone, is there any software or downloads i
can get so that i can write chinese in my SMS, email, browsers, etc?
all i got in the DZ is pinyin, strokes, etc.....no writin' pad.....

The Asian stock Sense for the Desire Z has handwriting input as one of the options. I don't think anyone has extracted the latest HTC Chinese input yet, though.
I have a HK version and I have a handwriting pad. Don't know how to use it though. If someone can post how I can extract it I will be glad to help.
Hi

Posted this a few days back, but no one seems to know the answer. Is yours bought from UK too?? My dad's is HK version as he is in HK and the Samsung stock T9 keyboard is included. Some how I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Just a short question.
Has the N4 a Chinese keyboard, beside the Pinyin IM.
PinyinIM doesn't offer BoPoMoFo input and handwriting in Chinese.
Basically, the same (similar) keyboard like the Asus Keyboard on the Nexus7
Cheers
