For those that find themselves constantly wiping fingerprints off their phone, I recently put on a white case and an anti-grease screen protector and it is AWESOME

Hey guys. So i noticed that when viewing my x10 in direct sunlight that the screen has a rainbow reflection. I can still view it but it has like a rainbow gloss over it. Is that just an effect that sunlight has on an lcd screen? Its fine in doors or at night. Thanks

It's the double rainbow technology that the x10 is famous for.

Yes, because the Liquid in LCD is made of unicorn tears.

Is it anything like this?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3qFdbUEq5s
just kidding man...I dunno wipe any oil/fingerprints off the screen. Did you install a third party screen protector?
Naw. The screen protector is the one it came with. Ill try wiping the screen tomorrow and see how it does. Its just wierd that it gets all colourful once in the sun haha

I know what you mean. Pretty standard for glossy lcds. Enjoy the phone!
lol the reason its reflective like that is because of the screen protector that comes with the phone. after i took it off the effect went away.
I get the same thing, it looks like the same effect I get from polarized lenses.
Unicorn tears lok

Ah alright. Thanks for the replies! Im loving the phone. Just wanted to make sure all was well with it! Thank again

You can remove that shipping screen protector, and it will look better. The glass is scratch resistant..
I have been looking for a new way to keep fingerprints off of my screen. and I have heard rain x worked but I didn't have any, so I tried Meguiars ultimate quick wax. The result is amazing.!!! I can tell a huge difference in the amount of fingerprints on my screen. It also made my screen really smooth like an iPad.
I will take no responsibly if this messes up your tablet, this is purely what I did and it worked. Results may vary.
thanks

another good use for car wax is a quick fix for a scratched [email protected]/DVD. Gonna try this as my tab gunks up after just minutes of use. When playing air attack I put a bit of powder on my finger, lol.

You might want to see if the substance your using is nontoxic. I would hate to see a fellow iconia user fall ill to some chemicals in the wax

It hasn't harmed my screen in the few days that I have had it on my screen. That is also why I put the disclaimer there.

i think the concern is the users health here.

I'm pretty sure the concern is touching your screen then eating a sandwich or biting your nails or something that might cause you to ingest the wax.
Hand Sanitizer, and a good washing is the key. It really helps before you eat.

Hmm, that's pretty clever. I wonder if it would adversely affect a ghost armor screen protector.
Not only that, I wonder how it would fare on my phone with a steinheil screen protector. Rain-x is supposed to be tint safe.

Anyone have an tips for putting it on as I've had 0 luck with screen protectors in the past.
Cheers

And why is there 2 screen protectors one coloured round the edges and one just clear?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Crisis averted. Did the ole scotch tape trick to remove the dust particles. That should be in all screen protectors instructions as it works a treat.

Good luck

My general rules are (1) try to do it in a humid atmosphere, so there's less dust in the air, eg. a bathroom with a shower running, (2) to wash the back of the protector with water just before applying, and (3) try to fix errant dust motes with tape on the front to peel up a corner, and tape underneath to grab the dust, which it sounds like you've done. Personally I'm a big fan of the Brando ultra-clear protectors. Good luck!
I'm really loving the look of the phone with the colour change but the screen seems to have a kind of static look to it. Hopefully I'll get used to it as the phone looks great

I bought some SGP protectors for my S III. Well one of the kinds I bought was the ultra optics or whichever the the one that resists fingerprints is and it has almost like a texture on the screen which is kind of annoying to look at. I feel like it dulls the whole thing. I may take it off eventually and put the remaining ultra crystal I have from my i747
Really loving this screen protector.
The galaxy's s3 seems to me like it is very prone to scratches.
I always keep my phone in a pocket with nothing in it like keys or money yet I've got some pretty deep scratches on it.
I didnt get anywhere near as much with my s1, s2 or galaxy tab p1000.
Basically this screen is giving me protection and I'd even go as far as to say that it is making the scratches that I've acquired less noticeable.
Feels great too. I'm my opinion better that original screen and you have the added bonus of the anti fingerprint.
Defo recommend this

You can not remove them but you can install a good screen protector to hide the scratches.

I've ordered this one http://www.gadgetshieldz.in/google-lg-nexus-4-e960-screen-protector.html#product498 and the Ringke Fusion Case... I hope these are good products, because the case i have right now is really bad, it dropped the phone before my n4 hit the ground...

Their not really removable. Other than buying a new screen an digitizer, you're stuck with them.
If they are really really tiny surface scratches, I wonder if using that oleophobic stuff from amazon would fill them in. Seeing as the phone comes with an oleophobic coating, I wonder if that's all that got scratched. If someone has an old junk phone, I'd be curious to know if that windshield chip repair stuff would do anything.

That stuff for windshields is an epoxy, which would not look good on a phone screen. The olelophobic stuff from amazon would be worth a try.

Guys, I got my nexus 4 a few days ago any it's been awesome!! Today I dropped my phone any it got scratched!! The scratch is slightly noticeable when the screen is on and very bright! I can also see a rainbowish effect (very very small) when the screen is on!! Is there any way to hide this scratch!! Please please help me out!!! Thank you!!

Please ignore the typos!

Don`t think you can hide it with a screen protector, but you could try. Maybe it will look a bit better. Best way would be to have the screen replaced. Didn`t you use a case or bumper? It is a glassy phone proned to shatter on impact.
Did you even try Google? If it's not as bad as the one in the linked guide, just cover it with a scratch protector and you won't be able to notice it.
Alright, I am using a poetic borderline with my nexus, I ordered a nillkin screen protector... Hope it works!!!

Okay, the screen protector turned out to be matte and it just made the scratch look worse. Ordering a wet install screen protector soon.. Any idea if they will work?? I can feel the scratch when I run my finger nails over it and it is clearly visible outdoors!!
