wow is all i can say..lol - Droid X General

Ok, being the noob that i am i didnt back up the original stock rom on my phone so now im looking for the verizon stock rom for 2.2 Android. I bought the phone in December. Im not sure what version but i think it was the 2.3.9 not sure since i didnt make the back up. Anyways, if someone could find out the original baseband and system version for 2.2 and post it for download I'd be very greatful.
And for those of you wondering...yes i did use the search function and tried to look for the answer myself and heres what i found:
http://rootzwiki.com/index.php/Main-Page/Droid-X-Full-2.2-SBF.html
http://mydroidworld.com/forums/droi...ystem-baseband-2-3-340-kernel-bootloader.html
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=File:Motorola_Droid_X.png
but anyways this is what i need to know:
1) which of these do i use abover where do i download the Verizon Original Rom i Had on my phone when i bought it in December?
2) what tools do i need to reload it and with instructions.
(**currently i have the z4root/droidx root recovery from koush)

Well if you are root then down load rom manager from the market inside that koush made a stock, but rooted rom of 2.2 inside there. Other then that I would need to know what is the bootloader version, and the system version to help any further.

Yeah I finally got my phone restored to factory but it still shows the 2.2 .1. Version intead of the 2.2 but at least my phone ia working proprly now...I may just back this one up instead and run my themes and stuff

Root G1 + Keep latest Market and other propierty apps?

Hi there.
I recently had to unroot my phone as I lost all my apps and no other method I could find will let me have the latest Market and other apps. (Did look in Slideme but it didn't have ANY of the apps I use).
Anyway, I read that I need to downgrade to cupcake to root it, hence by doing that I will also be forced to downgrade market etc.
Anyway I get to keep these apps?
Cheers (BTW I'm from UK)

I'm thinking someone forgot to flash the htc recovery image.
Anyways, root, flash htc recovery image, flash cyanogen, post in the right section, bingo.
gonna get flamed cause you posted in the wrong section. but I'm assuming you didnt follow directions and didn't flash the defranged zip file before flashing tcyanogen or duper D rom's... http://dx.infernix.net/DRC83_base_defanged.zip
You will have the latest market after rooting...if that is your question.

when you root your phone, you can then flash a 'modified rom' this keeps root and also enables more features/speed improvements. If your looking for a stock rom but with root download Enom's TheOfficials T-mobile UK. Its basically the latest t-mobile G1 Rom but with root and with working market and all apps. If your more adventurous try SuperCDSIv4 from HTCClays, its extremely fast. Using right now with T-mobile UK and i get all apps. I did have to download MarketEnabler 3.0.8 and change my sim operator number to 23430 (t-mobile uk) as i couldnt see beebplayer, but after changing i can see that now. All apps working.

Thank you! And firstly thank you for not moaning at wrong section (I was confused between this and the other one)
Anyway I have rooted the G1 (gone back to old version, done the telenet lot and installed the recovery image (armons one), I also installed HardSPL. But I cannot find the Enoms images, could you please point me in the right direction so I can get to the latest Dounut and get the market, as If I was to update straight to Cyanogen now I would get the market

Yes you would man....You flash a rom that just has the google apps first and then without rebooting flash the rom of choice on top of it...Super D and Cyanogen both are like this....Most others are not.
For real....Flash the defanged base... LINK RIGHT HERE http://dx.infernix.net/DRC83_base_defanged.zip
and then flash this http://www.benbuchacher.com/superD/2010/03/24/superd-1-10-2
Lol that will get you Super D Black with nexus themed launcher and THE LATEST MARKET.
I also recommend Amon Ra's Recovery image 1.6.2 prior to flashing a new rom.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566669&highlight=Sense
Also might wanna flash the Danger SPL. Or use fire rats script. Either way, you have a lot of catching up with the current times....read the cyanogen wiki....lots of info there.
I might sound stupid but what is the difference between Amon_Ra's recovery and Cyanogen's recovery image?

Cyanogen -- Oldie but a goodie.
Amon_Ra -- New with more functionality.
You could also just search and read up on them.

Loaner Legend

I just send my SGS in for repairs and got a HTC legend as a loaner...
I read through some of the threads but going to a new phone its hard to find how the process of putting roms are done on it...
Is it like this SGS where i can put a custom rom and when im about to send the phone back i can restore to stock? I'd like to try froyo but i'd also like to be able to go back to stock so they can take it back
Froyo is now available for Legend with an update, no need for root to try out Android 2.2.

Firmware version 2.1-update1
Thats 2.1 isn't it? Software update "no updates available"
I just wanted to try some of the custom roms here to make things speedy and comfortable.. but i wanted to make sure i could undo it before sending it back.
Oh okay, I've got the update on my Legend though...
I have been trying out some custom Froyo roms, I then went back to stock 2.1 RUU when the phone needed a repair thru waranty, and then updated to the original 2.2 update. So it is possible to go back and unroot it, yes. But I'm not sure what the chances are that you won't be able to unroot. Look around in this forum, im sure there is alot of discussions about unrooting...

I have a found a guide on unrooting...
I'm just confused on many steps -- I've come from SGS which is pretty easy to do everything on...
I need to downgrade, root, upgrade, mess about and if i want to send back. downgrade again, unroot then upgrade to 2.2?
My question is, all this is possible right? unrooting in the end gives you stock rom + no root...
So what I'm wondering, where do i find the stock rom? (this is a bell phone)
Once i find stock rom everything else should be findable from what i've read..
I just need to know how to hold my stock rom right now so when i upgrade i don't lose it and when i send it back i can restore it...
Will this work through CWR?
Stock ROMs for Legend can be found on the shipped-roms website. The stock one you need for Bell can be found here:

Root AWS Dell Streak 2.2.2 FRG83G

Well, hopefully don't get yelled at but at a dead end. Have tried superoneclick, universal androot, and z4root. None work. Don't want to brick this so have not tried flashing a superboot.
Any thoughts?

I have the same aws streak came with the 2.2 build 333 or wherever you want to call it. I was able to use superoneclick, I had usb debuging on, and its the newest version of super. "But" I had to install the drivers off the dell website or it wont work. to be safe I downloaded all of them for the streak and installed them.
That might be your problem.
My build is slightly newer. gausb1a134100
Will try drivers at dell. I used the ones on the sdcard.
Update:
Tried drivers on Dell website and same thing. Fails.

Hi, I'm doing research on all the firmware versions, could you post your baseband version?
GAUSB1A133300-AWS

Woot, finally got it. Realized the psneuter didn't work and had been trying the rage one after.
Tried it during boot with rage and that did it.
Thanks!
If you could do one more favor: could you hit the system update button in settings and post the URL it gives you? you dont need to update if you dont want, but the URL would be really helpful. I've almost got all the data I can on the aws version.

Im running streakdroid, it just tells me that I have a update for that. A few weeks ago (maybe two) I tried it and it told me I was up to date.
But now Im wondering if there is one waiting for me I might do a restore to stock and check
Awww
The issue is what would you restore stock to? If you go back to 318/319/339/340 they wont give you an update to 341. (Im not even sure if 333 can be updated to 341 since no other 3xx -> 3xx update is given for stock streaks)
There's bound to be at least a 3rd aws version (either donut or ecliar that i dont know about)
Dont bother updating your streak if you just want 341, from what i know it shouldnt work.
Mine came with 333. I sure it was upgraded to that by the seller. But I would like to know what the difference is with 341.
Externally there shouldnt be any real difference, except that 341 is Android 2.2.2 and all other 3xx builds are Android 2.2
Ok restored to stock 333. Tried update said I was good. Here's the link. http://mobileupdate.dell.com/LandingPages/Streak/Retail/uptodate/en/index.html still only 2.2.1. That sucks I want 2.2.2
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Oh you still have a copy of 333? Would it be possible for you to upload it? Its not available on the dell servers (at least not with all the other versions)
I have no Idea how to do that. I get all you would need is the rom backup file but where and how to put I have no clue.
Also I never did a backup before I set the phone up so I would have to revert back to my stock backup, do a factory reset than nandroid. I just dont want to post all my personal info from my rom dump.(gmail.passwords.....)
Side note: when I did the update check the url that first came up was diff. from the one I copied. The url that first came up had 333 somewhere in it.I do rember seeing it for a split second.
I took this off the dell website (http://mobileupdate.dell.com/PackageProductionLocations/Streak_318_12821_00.pkg ) and have been playing around with the #'s one would think that by changing the 318 & 12821 you could find the other builds but I tried 341 & build #'s (_341_14***)and I got nothing. Anything else I could try
did it look like http://mobileupdate.dell.com/?version=GAUSB1A33300 ?
I've been systematically working my way though them looking for updates. The only lastest pkgs I'm missing are the two AWS ones (333,341) and the starhub branded ones (320).
If you did have a nandroid dump of 333 just dont upload the userdata.img (this is true of nandroid in general, all your data is in userdata, the other imgs are the systemdata that only has the android files)
If it is a hassle you dont have to go though the work, what I really want is the original pkg, pkg.dec and the recovery image anyway. (that's why I asked for the update url so I could grab them myself)
If you wanna see my progress, I put everything on the wiki: link
That's a lot of info! I do think it looked like that link but I wasn't really looking I just happened to see the numbers than nothing. Where would I upload the files? Never had to upload just download.
Dropbox/filefront/rapidshare/smoke signals if you're not sure you've removed your personal data, you could password it and pm me a link.
so what you are saying is there is a version of 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 floating around for the streak?
has anyone been able to try these on the unlocked streaks preloaded with 2.2?

Of course HTC is not gonna provide support for a rooted phone that you flashed a leaked ROM to...If you want it back to stock then flash the one from footballs post if you want the GB update or find the stock pd15img and flash it in the bootloader.
Tried that, says its older version. I'll need to root it to go back

[Q] How to tell which of the stock ROMs is the one I need?

Hello, I recently tried to get a custom recovery on my phone. tar yielded `bad magic` on the archive and the installation failed.. I thought nothing was actually changed on my phone, but when I did a reboot my phone didn't start back up. It's in a boot-loop. I tried clearing cache, data, and everything else but it's stuck. I'm convinced I need to reflash a stock ROM.
My only problem is I can't tell which ROM I need. I wasn't careful enough to write down the exact version numbers of everything for my MB525. I just know this:
It's a red-lense model.
Came with Android 2.1, but later upgraded to 2.2 (via the built-in carrier provided software update method)
The carrier for it is T-Mobile US.
I checked the list ( droid-developers.org/umts_jordan/list.php) , but there are two firmwares listed for T-Mobile US. I'm really afraid of getting a higher version that what I was at because of the whole fixed-system partition bit explained in the beginners guide. So I'll ask here before I break my phone. Basically, I want to eventually get CM running on it and such, but I want to always be able to fall back to the version of Android 2.2 that I was running previously.
Basically, which ROM is the one I need to get my phone booting again?
T-Mobile_MB525_6.19.0_1FF.zip - this one is CG39.smg version 2, so this one should be an Eclair.
JORDN_U3_6.36.0_SIGNED_USAJRDNTMOB1B4B5DE1028.0R_JORDANTMO_P022_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf - this one is CG39.smg version 4 - therefore - Froyo.
If you have previosly been on Froyo, don't try to flash the Eclair, or you'll end up with a BL error.
That worked! That's the one I figured I should use, but the version number on it is `6` unlike every other version 4 CG which is `3.4`.
Now that I got a good ROM to fallback on, time to get a custom recovery and try some custom ROMs
Actually, that version is Android 2.1. The firmware version is "2.1-Update1"
It worked for my phone anyway though. Not quite sure how.
Weird! Its CG39 version is 4, therefore I assumed it was Froyo... Didn't know there was a version 4 Eclair...
