Hello,
There are a serval Apps for Video Conferencing and VoIP for Android and Linux.
But theres no app which supports MSN Video Calls or Yahoo. Whats the Problem why we never get such app ? The ml20 Codec used by MSN isnt such complex like the VoIP Codecs with RTP and jitter control.
Is noone interested in unsing MSN Video everywhere ?
Is it not allowed by Microsoft to use this feature on Linux ?
Fring doesn´t work
Can someone tell me an app with MSN Video, which works with a msn Windows Buddy ?
Greetings
Chris
yahoo has video chat for android,
I feel the same way why no MSN, there was some jujuby app that tried it but failed, looked like some code/bug issue.
I cant wait for this as well.
should be simple enough compared to the others.
Then Again Dell can't even get the front cam working on froyo in both the cam app and 3rd party apps.
Gingerbread will make it work with the new camera api

Use Fring (http://www.fring.com/default.asp) the best I've ever used!
when I am connected by wap I use "ebuddy", because this is the unique software that I known for chatting with MSN contacts.
Anyone knowns other program that connecting with MSN in wap?
Fring is the best.
I will try FRING today. Thanks ALL for reply.
But the Fring site doesnt officially support any WVGA devices yet.
Has anyone tried running Fring on 480*800?
Try Nimbuzz, I use it, it has Skype integrated also.
www.nimbuzz.com
or directly from phone m.nimmbuzz.com and it's free
fring 480x800
I downloaded the fring CAB for the xperia for my diamond 2.
Installation was easy and fast.
Works fine with 480x800. No problems yet.
You can try also slick. It's alpha, crashes sometimes, but works.

This seems to be good. I have just installed the Fring... and will try this in a day or two. Looks like free, similar to Fring.
I think I need to choose between Fring and Nimbuzz
PS: Done some google for reviews of these two, and seen Nimbuzz is good
Thanks for the tips in this topic. Nimbuzz is working great indeed! I had been using Fring, but it doesn't work anymore with the latest Leo ROMs.
Nimbuzz is the BEST
Hi All,
I have been using Nimbuzz and found this to be the BEST with all IMs integrated for Chat and Voice Calls too .
Thanks.
Try Palringo. Integrated with Facebook, msn, yahoo, gmail. PTT (Push to Talk) also.
Since I have a wap plan I use ebuddy because it is the only instant messenger that works with this type of connection. eBuddy also connects to MSN, Skype, etc.

I agree. Palringo is by far the best IM for winmo
I like Palringo, although the interface is not as pretty as Beejive. I have problem with Nimbuzz keeping connect and alive on my phone.

Sadly there is not an option as of yet. This is one of the most disappointing things about it. Who the hell even uses yahoo messenger? =P
I hope they can find a way to make it truly compatible with all messaging services such as MSN and AIM. Im surprised they were only able to cater to yahoo users and I have no yahoo messenger using friends. bummer
Hey
Anyone managed to get video chats on the A7 ?
Tried Skype, Mercury (Msn Messenger client),and OoVoo.
i am not able to get video support.
I get my side of video on OOVOO.
Any luck ?
Skype did not develop Video Calls for Android yet
p.s. Fring works, but quality is worst. Got link between A7 and Toshiba AC-100
Yahoo messenger works just fine with the yahoo plugin for video and voice chat.

Running Dexter v1.2
Yahoo Messenger v1.3.2
Yahoo Messenger Voice and Video Plugin v1.3.2
You need to use the latest yahoo messenger for windows 10.

Use a windows application on an Android device... and intended for a version of windows that won't be released for somewhere around six years?
I don't get what your itching at here.
I have the same version of yahoo messenger and the plugin on the tablet like yours and the yahoo messenger 10 on my PC and I can do video chat between my PC and the tablet easily. The reason you need yahoo messenger 10 on the PC is because the android version of yahoo messenger disables the video chat feature when it detects the other side running an older version and as well the format of the video stream is only supported by yahoo messenger 10 on the PC and the android version.

Pretty sure his commented was in regards to the windows 10
Sorry for the confusion I might have caused.

Got this working
Yahoo messenger video chat is now working. I tested it from an ipod touch 4th gen and video is coming through on both ends.
Incoming video to the A7 from the ipod was not good, but the video from the A7 to the touch was great.

Yahoo is available only for phones at the moment and does not work properly. MSN is supported by 3rd party apps.
Google video works fine.
thats odd I asked our IT guy why we dont use msn video for tele-confrences and he laughed/ Why cause skype and go to meeting is what bunisses use
not necessary, I am a trader, I work from home and I need the app what others use to communicate too. Some use skype, some yahoo some msn some google. We just can't say I can only use this app coz my equipment supports just this? We spend money on technology to make our business and life easy. Sadly Android is still a baby.
Skype
Google Talk
Facebook Chat
Windows Live Messenger
I got pissed to use too much chat application, now I use only GMAIL and GTALK...
Oh you must be one of those porn bots that use MSN for "business"

@kimi: If you work from home buy a PC. It's for business. If you need to be available lets say in the bathroom just buy a laptop PC. Don't buy a tablet and expect (even though you can if you try) to replace your everyday run of the mill PC.

Yeah i also noticed Palringo stopped supporting 3rd party chat. I think thats pretty dumb, correct me if im wrong but isnt that what most people would use it for ?
Anyway, i think IM+ still works on windows mobile, im not sure though.

Maybe Chat or Instant Messaging applications for WinMo has abandoned, cause mostly developers hasn't support for WinMo anymore.......
