I can receive MMS just fine. I can use the internet, market place, etc. However, If i try to send one, it will just stay in the sending phase forever. I even tried sending one to myself with no luck.
I am using hyperdroid1.7 and I cannot get this to work.
Anyone ? I've seen fixes for other networks but not one for at&t
SOLUTION:
make sure password is set to CINGULAR1, may require a soft reset after.
I have been using this rom Moto234_Evo_Carbon_Remix on my HD2 and after I set the AT&T MMS settings, I can send msgs, you need to double check your MMS settings under msgs, and you need to check your settings under connections.

there really isn't much to be changed in the settings under the messaging app.
would you be able to double check these to see if they match yours? (under access point names)

oh wow. Thanks, I tried this before but it didn't work. I guess I just needed a soft reset or wait longer. I feel dumb
i can send very small pictures, but it seems that regular sized non cropped pictures from the camera never get sent.
That I cant help you with, I can tell you that I sent a test pic from my phone to my tilt 2 and it wasnt a small pic but a fullscreen.
anyone have any info on this?

The nexus one came set up with data working. I had to manually add the apn settings for MMS though to get it working. For anyone wanting to set it up:

Hey thanks a tonne man, my sick boolean search skills turned this up in the top few hits. Really appreciate it!
Thank you for the info when my N1 arrives this week i will give it a go thanks.
I have used multiple Android builds and have used Desire, Froyo, etc. and with every build (currently using DarkStone's 2.2 build), I have had problems sending and receiving MMS messages. I cannot send nor receive them at all. I receive network errors every attempt, no matter the build, no matter if I update the zImage. Has anyone else had this problem or might know of a solution?

Are you able to access the net? It may be your APN/DNS settings, etc.
Yes, I am able to access the net. Everything in the build seems to run pretty smoothly, except for sending/receiving MMS.

They are listed in your build.prop file: using a file explorer go to system/build.prop change dns settings. As a default they are set to google's and some carriers do not recongnize.

Sorry about that, there is nothing that needs to "match" between the two...I was wrongly pointing to the match of my settings for both.
I have found about 20 different posts that all list different APN settings for T-Mobile US. Does anyone know what they should be for sure? Please only post if you are able to SEND MMS. I seem to be able to receive MMS, but can never send MMS. I have gotten it to work a couple times on some builds but the same settings don't seem to work on other builds.
Posting the settings is great but if you have a backup file from "APN Backup and Restore" that would be even more convenient.
Thanks
I fought with this same problem for a while, trying every setting i found in all the threads. One way i finally found that allowed me to send and recieve was to make 2 APN's, one with the standard epc.tmobile.com and nothing else, and another named t-mobile mms with the following settings:
APN: T-Mobile MMS
Proxy: None
Port: None
Username :none
Password: none

MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.050

I got the idea for using multiple APN's when i looked at my girlfriend's my touch slide's settings. Hope that helps!
Thanks. I'll give that a try and let you know how it goes. I read once that there are different settings for PPP and RMNET. I wonder if that's why I was able to get it to work on some builds and not others.

Thanks for these settings that u shared. This was the only APN that worked for my friend to get mms on tmobile prepaid with an AT&T Xperia Play 4g. They only get 2g/Edge, but I feel they even got an increase in speed from the "telekila"APN that was on the phone even if its small increase within 2g. Thanks everyone.
What are the correct apn settings for T-Mobile prepaid? Speedtest.net is reporting my location WAY off and pings are through the roof even though data speeds are just fine.
aAnyone know why? When I receive an MMS it just says downloading and never downloads, even after 2 days. Can't send, either. This has been a problem on many android phones I've had, stock or otherwise. I'm on AT&T and don't pay for a data plan. Is there a way for me to turn off the data usage and still send MMS?
I'm running Team Whiskey's Nero v5 w/APNdroid. Even on stock I had issues.
Whoever can fix this wins a cookie. It's been an issue for years.
MMS are sent and received over the data network. You can try turning off wifi as that seems to help the sending of mms, although it won't work without data.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I know that, but the apndroid feature "keep mms on" is supposed to temporarily allow data for messaging. Windows Mobile and dumbphones let me send texts, and I am signed up for MMS, just not data.
Are you using the correct APN settings?

My friend has the same problem on the same phone with the same ROM, and so whoever helps me helps the both of us.
For the record, I had the same issue on a Nexus One I had.
Also I was told to check packet data on a forum but I'm pretty sure that just enables data, thus I get raped with charges.

I tried those and they don't work either. Do they work for you? I'm about to call AT&T to see if they jacked up my settings on their side. I used to be able to send MMS on my Blackjack and i don't know what's changed... my plan sure hasn't.. also I uninstalled APNDROID and I am using the ROM's "Disable Data" feature to disable data instead.
Yeah they work for me. It's just that the MMS plays as a video. I'm not sure if that is a common problem or not.

I just flashed Darky's universal ROM and tested to see if MMS works and it does. I've also used Bionix 1.2.1 and Trigger 2.6, and those were fine with MMS too. I don't have my data blocked.

Its going to be hard to help you, if you are cross posting and jumping around. That's one reason why cross/multiple posting is a bad idea (in addition to clogging up the forums needlessly).

The APN settings are under Menu>Settings>Wireless & networks>Mobile networks>Access point names
Under there, you should see the name of your carrier, press it and look at the settings (or pick the one that is currently selected, there is probably only one choice). Verify the settings are correct. I'm guessing they are not, and the MMS fields in particular need to be corrected.
I just found the Bell APN settings by Googling for it:
Name: Bell Internet
APN: pda.bell.ca
Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 610
APN type: Internet + mms
Authentication Type: none
If any of the info is not correct, modify it to read exactly as shown above (except for "Name", which can be whatever you want). You may need to reboot for the settings to take effect. Not a fast boot, a real reboot by holding the power button until the Power Options show, and pick Restart.
I actually had 2 spots to choose, both were identical, but i changed the info, and now i only have one....
but do i have to keep the space between APN type : Internet + mms... or can it be Internet+mms?
also in looking around
* Name: Bell
* APN: pda.bell.ca
* Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
* Port: 80
* Username: <Not set>
* Password: <Not set>
* Server: <Not set>
* MMSC: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
* MMS proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
* MMS port: 80
* MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
* MCC : 302
* MNC : 610
* APN type : <Not set>
this is from bell's site... but it says for a HTC Desire.... but it shows the APN type as not set, and you showed me it as internet + mms
so which is correct?
I think <Not set> is fine for APN type.
I've seen the same for my carrier (some list <Not set>, some say something else), and I think putting either works.
BTW, you can easily test if MMS is working by sending one to yourself.
i can send it to my self, not anyone else...
any other options?
cause in notifications, it says unable to send message after multiple attempts
Service denied...
but again i can send them to my self, but thats the msg i get when i try to send to anyone else
Did you need to fix any of the APN settings? If so, did you do a "real" reboot as I mentioned?
You might also check if the size of the media you are sending exceeds the network's limit. I don't know what the limit on Bell is. But you might try the lowest setting possible on Virtuous for starters (600kb). The settings is found in the Messages app in Menu>Settings>Maximum message size.
Hi, sorry if this is not the right thread but I have this problem with Virtuous ROM:
After some time my icons are over-sized that i cannot see them and in some cases my settings won't work (text turns to black "blocks", and i'm guessing that all images with transparent parts turn black?)...
i had the same problem on virtuous quattro. you should go into bootloader (or rom manager) and do a fix permission. i did this way and i solved
Tried it but happened again i'll couple more times but i doubt it
