[Q] --Badly need some help-- - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

waddup everyone been hanging around this forum ever since i got my hd2 a month ago and love it...now down to business lol...
i been trying every rom on here for the hd2 and honestly they all work for me every one of them with no reboot or lag etc..the only and i mean the only problem i have with every single build is MMS..98% of them i cant get it to work i have only found 2 droid build that mms work...the first one the mms comes in so small u cant even make out what it is,and second one it comes it normal size but very very blurry. i dig all over this forum for fix and none seems to work for me can someone please share with me there build the mms works for them with no problem..my WM side the mms works flawless no problem send and receive fine.the only reason i don't like the WM is the sms is sooo damn plain and boring you cant customize it no nothing and the WM market is a joke.so can someone please please help me out with this,my hd2 stat is
network-simple mobile
location -idaho(that means no 3g)can only get edge
spl - 10.0000
os-5.2.21913
rom-3.14.531
radio-2.15.50.14
all i need is any rom, sense, droid anyone will do as long as mms works ill be beyond happy

I have just done a quick search for you on the net and the answer appears to found in this XDA thread.
It recommends you enter the following APN settings:
Name: Simple
APN: Simple
Proxy: 216.155.165.050
Port: 8080
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.050
MMS Port: 8080
Hope this helps

the last rom i was useing HD2ONE-0.3.4a had does settings preinstall and that is one of the two builds that works for me this is the one the pics comes in blurry..but 5mins ago i format my sdcard soft rest my phone and reinstall hd2one back on it and try a mms and it came in fast and fullsize i had the person resend that same pic and it came in burry and so did every other mms after that and i dont know if it was becuz the person phone was dieing but all of a sudden i keep getting duplicates like crazyy one after the other i never seen that happen before.im at a lost

Hd2one works and so does biffmod

so after a long day of football and messing with my phone all day long im still at a lost i have no clue what im doing wrong...im running HD2one for the fact its the only rom i have used that kinda works...still having the same problems as before format sd place folder on sd card launch it check all settings reboot log back in give it 5mins have someone send me a pic get it fine the first time wont come in the second time and cant send pics after that...can someone plz share with me there working rom that's simple mobile that works flawless for them im only having problem with mms nothing else everything else works flawless..btw how come my MMS works fine on the WM side and not the droid side whats the differents

That has been my issue before but solved it. There are threads also that has been made about android builds using simple mobile network with working mms.
If you try to scan some threads, then you should be able to solve it.

I have had the same problem and have what I think is a fix but it wont let me post it because I dont have 8 posts yet and it contains a url. Lame. So when I get 8 posts I'll let you know. Im almost there.
Like 4 left. lol

Here hopefully this helps.

MMS PRBLEMS? Maybe this is your solution

Okay, I maybe onto something here..
I have been trying all day, see previous posts, to get f'ing mms to work.
I've got it working now!!!
In my MMS settings, I use a gateway port that starts with 010.250.etc...
When I remove the first zero, so in the MMS settings remove the first 0 from my gateway, it bloody works...
That was sheer luck!!!
Take advantage of this info guys!!!

HTC Universal/XDA Exec MMS issues, I have spent hours looking for answers...

Hello all!
I have been searching for hours looking for answers and I've found a lot of cool information, and supposedly some cabs that will supposedly fix what I want, but I'd prefer to do it manually before loading some cab files from the net. And I want to do it manually because at one point I had this working.
Problem: MMS is not working "correctly." I have the TX and RX small picture problem to be specific. I have found numerous posts linking to cab files here, there and everywhere, and to be honest there are too many download links for me to feel comfortable picking one that claims to work.
I have an HTC Universal branded as an XDA Exec. I recently upgraded the ROM to the latest that O2 had (if you need a copy I can provide), and that fixed some other problems I had going on. The last issue I have unresolved is the small picture problem. I am currently running Windows Mobile 5.
I have called HTC and some spaz guy answered the phone. It sounded like he was getting it on with someone or running a marathon, and he pretty much told me to talk to AT&T, with whom I had just gotten off the phone with. HTC says it's the network, and AT&T says it's the phone that is doing the shrinking.
I don't really care who is doing it at this point, unless that comes with an explanation of how to fix it. Once it's fixed I will be curious as to how it all broke, but now I want it fixed.
I started with the setting for a Cingular 8525 and I could not send or receive MMS msgs. At some point I fixed that, and then they got small, but I could send and receive. Before I flashed the ROM I could receive MMS but not reliably send. I received several MMS pics that were over 100 and 200 k, and one over 300k sent from a Razr. I state this because I know the phoen I have can handle it.
If you could post the settings to help me out, or point me to a link in this forum that has those settings (I'm not interested in a link to just a cab file, I want to KNOW how it works), I would greatly appreciate it. I have been looking on the web, this forum (via its search AND google), and the Cingular website, and even playing around with some of the setting, and I havent found the solution.
If you could email me at dragonfire_83 at yahoo dot com I'd appreciate it. I might forget to check the email/PM feature here...
Also, on a related note, what do I have to do to remove the stupidly arbitrary sending limitation of 100k in the MMS config section?
Thanks!
Dan

*ok, 10 char minimum bump*
Seriously....?
Ok, here I am DAYS later STILL looking for settings.
I managed to find on the cingular website (why is it that it takes me 30 minutes just to find the tutorial website????) and go back to the settings they have there, but now I'm stuck with the resizing problem.
https://www.wireless.att.com/suppor...sCategory=Picture+Messaging&tutorialId=233040
is the link I followed.
# Server Name: Cingular MMS
# Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
# Port number: 80
# Server address: http://mmsc.cingular.com
# Connect via: MEdia Net
# Sending size limitation: 300k (my phone only does 100k here)
# WAP Version: WAP 2.0
The phone cant send or receive at WAP 1.2, which I think it used to be able to.
I have found an overwhelming number of people and entries with similar problems, yet I have found no solutions.

MMS Hell

Hi everyone,
I'm having big issues with MMS and my GSII.
I bought it from Expansys.
I live in Australia.
I've got it running on the Telstra NextG Network.
I haven't touched it in ways Samsung wouldn't approve of.
I can't send MMS messages.
I've rang Telstra many, many times and they set this up and I turned it on and off and they sent me settings and I turned it on and off and they walked me through entering the settings manually and they transferred me to the really technical team, as high as you can go on high priority.
They told me to pull out the battery and sim card without turning the phone off, and to wait three minutes and try again and if that didn't work, to contact Samsung.
Of course, it still didn't work, and, of course, I came here.
I hope you guys can help.
:s
I'm not sure what information I need to give you that is helpful here, but I've taken some screenshots that may be related to the problem.
I'd really appreciate it if someone can help me out. I'm not sure what to do if I can't get MMSs to work.

Which error does your phone give you?
Server response error.
edit:
Just added the picture showing the error. Forgot that one first time.
I had that problem sending myself a mms. Server response error. On top of the fact that all mms coming in and out was a video instead of a picture with the stock mms.apk. I installed cm7 mms.apk and everything displays perfectly and i just sent myself a message.

Mine works fine and the only difference between my settings and yours is that I have authentication type for both Telstra Internet and Telstra MMS set to "PAP or CHAP". Try changing both these settings.
I have the same problem. After factory reset mms works for a day or two then the same error appears. I am on Rogers in Canada. All default apn/mms settings are correct.

How would I go about doing this? Sorry, I'm a bit of a noob.
Does it require rooting? I want to stay away from rooting until it's simple and fail-safe.

Try this: MMS "APN" Telestra.Internet and not Telestra.mms (since mms initiates telestra.internet
I had the same problem with T-Mobile and my sgs2. I think the problem lies with the messaging app as all was fine once I changed to go SMS, problem solved.
When I am sending MMS, I turn Wi-Fi off.
I usually add Topic/Subject and some text to my MMS.
This way my MMS sending works almost 90%.
Sometimes I have to delete MMS which is in "sending" status and try again. This way I got 100% success rate. I have no errors though. Try PAP on both Internet and MMS APN settings.
Have the same problem. Try to manually enter the phonenumber to the recipient. That works for me
hey guys, ive been trawling the internet for solutions and still cant get my mms to work (cant send or receive). has anyone got a working solution? i read somewhere that the galaxy s had a similar problem and needed a combined apn for internet and mms - does anyone have this?
(im on telstra in australia)
What a Nightmare
I also had this problem only SGS2. Bought from MobiCity and running in Australia on Telstra NextG. Unable to send MMS but all other SMS and internet working fine.
I looked up the Telstra website and entered their APN settings ... No MMS.
I looked up the Telstra settings on Ausdroid and entered these ... No MMS.
I found information on how to delete APN and put internet+MMS into a single APN as suggested for the original SGS ... No MMS. Grrrrrrrrr...
I used the Telstra website to SMS the APN settings direct to the phone ... No MMS and increasing frustration.
I sent an email to MobiCity telling them of my problem, as well as what I had already tried. They very helpfully sent me the Telstra APN settings ... which still didn't work.
I tried the suggestion mentioned here to type the phone number directly rather than use a contact from my Google contacts ... finally some success.
Then, thinking 'I'll be stuffed if I am going to lookup and type the number every time's, Installed GO SMS Pro from the Market, and it just works. Looks better, improved functionity including SMS scheduling. And Free.
It makes me think it is a problem with the stock messaging app. Anyway, thanks to the person who suggested GO SMS. Much appreciated.
I've was not able to send MMS to some contacts. It was the problem with spaces in numbers just like Outlook adds after the country code. I have cleared all spaces from numbers (via Kies) and now MMS works.
MMS error was something like 'cannot connect to server'. All settings for MMS was correct (like APN, ports, etc). SMS to a number with space works. Checked on 2 SGS2 with XXKE4 and XXKF2
I have a Hell of a nightmare as well with finding what I m looking for about MMS :
I want to change sending Priority to highest and can't seem to find a way in the SG2 menu or even with an app or MOD....
I posted a new thread on this issue.... : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16892768#post16892768
thanks for any help....
For all those who are on the Rogers network, I spoke to a tech rep yesterday and apparently it is a network bug that they are aware off and trying to fix. He said to try and input the contact numbers manually instead. I tried and it does work if you do it this way.
I am not on Telstra, but do you have the correct settings in the messaging app-settings-message centre/smsc ?
That was my prob a long time ago on my Sgs1.

I had the same problem. I had to remove the country code +61 from all my phone numbers for MMS to work. Standard MMS settings work just fine.
Big Thanks

I just wanted say a big thanks for this information. I don't have a Samsung but an HTC HD2 and it appears that I was the only person on Earth who couldn't send an MMS with my nandroid rom on the HTC HD2... or there were lots living without it. Your suggestion re "PAP or CHAP" has MMS sending perfectly on my phone with Telstra NextG. Reproduceable too as I now have my wife's HTC HD2 sending MMS as well on Telstra!

Cricket Fascinate MMS Issue...

Ok Please understand I cannot stress enough about how the phone was working flawless and NOTHING CHANGED on my service. BUT what actually happened was I went from a 2.2 rom, WAP, MMS, everything working flawless because I flashed it myself and had perfect APN Settings that I found online. Non of the other APN settings work. This specific setup worked just flawless. Incoming and outgoing MMS worked like it was a Native cricket phone. And I had the files backed up into my SD Card, so I can just run APN Manager and just restore the files every time I tried a new rom.
Well I went to the new style roms for 2.3. Mainly CM7... But it was flawed for Mobile Data and WiFi so I went back.... month later things were fixed and I went back to CM7 and it was working but had rom errors. So I was working out some things and decided to clean everything. Well I screwed up... I started a format on my SD Card.... I pulled the battery quick but not before the APN Settings were deleted.
I have not been able to get MMS working since then. I just reverted back to stock and everything is working except MMS. I even just backed up a new Cricket Android Phone's APN file and edited my info into it and still no MMS. IDK What else to do.
Anyone have any info?
I remember the names of the APN Files I was using that I copied from someone online (CDMA-MMS) is one of them or something similar to that. But I cannot find anything.
If you can point me in the direction of the sons you used I will test them. I also and flashed to cricket but I've never got my mms to work. Im running a 2.2 rom. I've heard that cm7 and miui have wap and mms issues.
My mms always worked till I lost that apn. I been playing with it and can not find a solution. Idk what is going on.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Ok I fixed it. Just sent MMS from phone to email with no issues and quite fast.
If you install APN Manager and give me your email address I'll send you my backup. It requires NO PROXY or any sort and hardly any info on the APN. But its a modified APN from a Cricket Android Phone. The actual APN I got off of that phone didn't work very well. But I just started modifying it and things started working soo much better.
can i have that fil my e-mail [email protected] will it work for an evo?
