How many of us have successfully flash WM6.5

Well
how many of us have successfully flash WM6.5?
is it advisable to flash it?

Personally I am happy with SPB Mobile Shell 3. The I am not interested in another WinMo version until 7, which will need another phone.

GPS performans with WM6.5
Flashed with Tommy34's ROM with WM6.5.
Very happy that my GPS fixing -boring- delay is fully resolved.
I almost believed in my Device have had a hardware defect, then realized it is none..
I have got one single trouble that SKYPE WinMobile v2.5 can not be installed..
I will try v3.0 Beta ASAP I am able to download..

I installed tommy34 cHome 0.4 ROM and I'm very happy with it. My gps finally works too...and the phone is more response in general.

hi
first u need to do ur HSPL a tute is given in the jade rom development section
read the same and do it as u cant flash cooked ROMs without HSPL
but remember if u do it u will lose ur warranty
once u have done the same Flashing is very easy
if u cant understand i will give u details but first get ur HSPL done OK

I have not been able to flash my phone.
I am using Vista and when I try and flash the rom on the phone, I get:
Vista has found new hardware (I think it was a CDMA Driver)

I've flashed WM6.5 (can't remember which version I used), and I thought all was going well, until I tried to sim unlock it. The phone is 2 months old, with Orange branding, and had the horrible Orange Unique Manager, which is why I wanted to flash the phone, and I assumed the phone was simlocked. After I flashed it, I bought a Sim Unlock Code, but when I put a 3 sim card in, I didn't get the expected "Enter SIM Unlock Code" prompt. Instead I just get "No Service" displayed on the home screen with the exclaimation mark at the top where the signal strength is displayed. I've also tried with an (active contract) T-mob Sim, and a Tesco Mob Sim. Same thing, I don't get the prompt to be able put the unlock code in.
I can't help thinking it's because I've flashed the phone, it seems like there's something preventing the Enter SIM Unlock Code dialog from coming up. Is there anyone else with this problem, or a solution? What ROMs are people using that they have sucessfully SIM unlocked their phones with?

So does it still work with an Orange Sim?

I have flashed my Orange UK Jade with various flavours of WM6.5, all with good results, currently using a version cooked by PDAVIET, with no issues.

Guys, is it possible to flash to Windows 6.5 then flash again to 6.1 if all doesn't go well?

just wondering but are PDAVIET, Ironeagle and Tommy34s version of wm 6.5 all have 8gb micro sd support. And also which would you recommend as the best.

And installed only th programms that i need.
Only i need Thai caracters in sms. It is not possible to change the thaom font to a full wich Asiatic caracters. installed msss.tff and change all to it, but manila sms does not take care about font change in sms/messages...
I tryed to coock a rom usin erviuskitchen german kittchen wich only changing tahoma font. but all roms i cooked with it are getting instable after 2 dayes. My favorite navigation system wich german and Asien maps does not start afer 3 times anymore.
Si i stick nearly fully satisfyed with the Jade_LeanCut_GER_WM65_5.2.23001_OEM_2.33.721.1

I got my HTC since 2 mounth, and i really want to test WM6.5, but i must say that i'm a little afraid about flashing my phone.
I've read the "flash for n00bs" post, and it seems that there is a way to "flash-back" your phone to a factory version, am I right...?
By the way, if i want to use my waranty, can i "flash-back" my phone ?

Hello,
I am from Brazil and bought my Touch 3G about two months ago. It came with WM 6.1.
Last week I successfully applied the "Hard SPL 2.33 by Olinex" and then Flashed it with "Touch3G__WM6.5__2_33_721_17__B23033_WWE" ROM from PDVIANET.
Everything is running fine. The only comment is that we really need to disabled the 3G (H) network and run just with Edge (E) in order to save some battery. Other than that I recommend everybody to upgrade to WM 6.5

If you download any roms: wm6.5 is the latest, but wm6/6.1 is more reliable.

Well, I all set go for my first ROM update. But just the part of precaution, I'v a query!
I gone through many threads & wiki, which helped me like tutorial.
But if suppose the new ROM update gets crash with my Himalaya, is there any way to re-jump to the existing original ROM I do have in device now?
I mean, can I bounce back to original ROM, in case of new ROM update failure?? If yes, please guide me how??

if you list all the spec of your computer and the equipment that you have for your himalaya it would give me a clearer idea about upgrading for you.
2.Its ok it keeps me busy! my teacher has gave me 3 htc voxes to fix in the past. anyway.
a little story.
When i got my himalaya in march this year i was chufed at what it could do then i discoverd that the rom was out of date and that was why i couldnt install much. Then i found this place. I read up on some threads on updating and i saw it was possible. So i nervously followed the guide because i found that if anything went wrong the device could be rendered unuseable. But... I went ahead and flashed it and it worked. And the first rom i ever flashed was athers windows mobile 6 ultimate edition. Since then i have not yet found a rom as brilliant as stable as it.
so when upgrading things can go wrong. but dont be reluctant to flash a new rom.
and you would have to do a bit of research if you decided you wanted the original rom back.
btw how old are you?
ONE MORE THING. I WILL LOOK FOR THE ORIGINAL ROM FOR YOU TONIGHT.

Y'day I tried to do the process but I fell to upload Hard SPL (BTW I'm going for C_shekhsr's ROM)
I followed noobs guide, update the USB driver for vista, then went to bootload the device & try to force Hard SPL.
Following all given instructions also its showing connection error (Error 260, 264) & process stops, but in reality everything is well connected & correct.
Well, when Hard SPL program executing, I observe, it also not showing my old version @Upload (second stage of confirmation).
Is there any special process for O2 XDA II hard SPL & on vista os??
I followed all guides well; What do you think may b going wrong?

Hard SPL? whats that? i never had to use it.
regarding error no connection:
go to task manager and make sure something a long the lines of microsoft usb sync or something is installed. and then disallow all the connection settings in windows mobile device center.
oh and if it still doesnt work try it without hard spl because i didnt use it. and it works on 7 and xp.
oh and the rom im using now is WinMoB_6.1_OS_5.2.21109_Build_21109_-_Lite_WWE.

First, Sorry for my bad english.
Now my problem;
I upgraded my omnia2 using pcstudio and now i have a lot of problems. The phone is amzingly slow and the "cube" button dont work, main meny is missing and so on...
Can i get back the older verision i had befor?
If i try to "restore" it from pcstudio i get message "the device already got the latest update" and then nothing happens.
I got mail from samsung and they say i got the 6,5,3 upgrade so they want me to send my phone in for service but i dont like to do that, i think it will take a few weeks...

Second: Its absolutely no problem, to get back to an older version. Do you know, which version was installed before? Or do you want to try last semi-official release of Samsung build in May with WM6.5 in it?

I´m from Finland but i got swedish language on my phone.
I´m not sure what i hade before but i will try to find it, i made a backup-file so it should be save on my computer so i will try find it.
My phone is just 4 weeks old and it was the only update i have done.
But i think it was the last semi-official release of Samsung build in WM6,5 and i liked it better whit the "cube-button-funktion" and the "main meny" that you can scroll from side-to-side.

Flashing is very easy, you just have to do everything step by step. If you use a good dictionary you will understand everything. If there is something you don´t get, just ask!

I have a HTC touch P3450 GSM ( generic made in china) and on begin it was cool but with the time this chinese devices only gives problem; my HTC comes WM 6.1 and I would like to know if I get to do an upgrade to 6.5. When I have money I buy another cell phone better and original. I ask Please that someone help How to do that, pass me a tutorial and the files necessary to do this upgrade( if possible the link to do the download)
P.S: I don't get to connect my cellphone using USB cable because the cellphone connector it's bad and would like to know if is possible to do this upgrade through "Blutooth"

I dont think its possible to "upgrade" your Touch via Bluetooth. Because there is no Upgradefile (or i dont know about) for WinMob 6.5 you need to put a new ROM on your Device.

Hi friend, Thanks for your attention. if the problem is put the ROM in my device, I can use the memory card of the me phone, put im my PC and later transfer this ROM to cell phone memory. I hope that I have understood your answer.

[Q] How to Get Windows Mobile 6.1 (6.5 ?) for a MDA touch plus

Hey guys,
I'm pretty sure that this question has already been answered but after going through many threads, I still don't get it, haha.
I have got a MDA Touch Plus (Htc Touch Dual) from T-Mobile UK which is set with Windows Mobile 6.0 (version from 2008, the oldest one I believe). I'd like to update it to WM 6.1 or above (6.5 ?) but I have no idea how to do that.
I tried to get the official version of WM 6.1 from the htc's website, it said that the software wasn't suitable for my device.
I managed to download it anyway using another HTC Dual Touch's serial number but I don't feel confident trying to install it when the website stated that it wasn't suitable.
Here are my questions then:
- Is there a risk of damaging the mobile phone if I try to install the official version that wasn't apparently suitable for the mobile phone ?
- Where can I get a version of WM 6.1/6.5 that will work with my phone ?
- Is there a guide to install it ?
- My phone is unlocked so I can use my Orange's Sim as well, by updating it using an unofficial version of WM, will the phone stay unlock ?
I apologise if my questions are quite silly but I haven't got any experience in customing ROMs and all that kind of stuff ^^"
