Problem reconnecting to GPRS

Hello. I have have a t-mobile mda with TNT4.0 Rom. I have set up t-mobile data connection as well as the proxy and internet works fine. However, if go into a no-reception area(subway, tunnel, etc) the data/voice obviously disconnects. When I'm in the clear again the voice bars show up but where I typically see E (EDGE) I see an "x" as if there is no data connection available. If I soft reset the data connection is there. Until I soft reset, there seems nothing I can do to fix the data connection. I go to connection settings, tap on the modem and click "connect" but nothing happens.
When I click "sync" in ActiveSync, it starts to sync and then stops after a few seconds and says "waiting for network".
Is anyone experiencing the same problem? any way to fix that? WHen I had T-Mobile ROM, I did not have this issue.
Sometimes things like that dissappear if you just flash the same ROM over the top of the one you're using. You don't list what radio rom your using, but it might be that too. You should probably start by flashing a new radio rom, either 2.19 or 2.69 since they seem to work the best with WM6 and then reflash TNT 4.0 if one of the radios doesn't fix it.
i had exactly the same problem (G/E sign visible..internet working but after a while X sign and i had to reset or turn the phone feature off and on to get it working again) when i was using other WM6 roms and it was so annoying that i planned to move back to WM5 but thanks to Orhan (he had the same problem) now its fixed.
for some strange reason, the only solution is to use NBD ROM and your problem will be solved. im using NBD 8.1 (without touch. after the ROM you can choose to install touch or soft reset it after setup to get a vanilla wm6 o/s) and its extremely fast and stable.

NBD v8.2 (5.2.1437)

hope this helps.

Thanks. I had 2.47.11 Radio ROM and now have installed 2.19 per your suggestions. I'll test it out and will post the findings.

Signal/wifi issues after upgrading stock rom

Hi i updated to custom rom for the first time and also updated to the latest radio.
I tried froyo 2.2 and also villain roms and a few others but get the same result..
The data/wifi does not work and I have signal issues as in weak or no signals in places where the issue should not be present.
The data seems to work as in I can search marketplace and access gmail during setup but if I try to download from market place or access browser, nothing happens.
I can see the now downloading but no dat is being received. I tried to go back to original stock rom but i get an error .
If i try to make a call sometimes i have to dial a few time for the call to go through or it doesn't go through at all.
Any help would be greatly appeciated
Thanks
Which Radio did u flash ? try flashing lower one and see the results .. For GSM Hero this is the latest radio available := 63.18.55.06PU_6.35.15.14 ..
Try WiFi turning on and off . & About market issue its not the custom ROM Bug, Google is having a Bug .. me also when sometimes download from market if i 've weak signal then it says downloading but won't start for a few seconds & then it starts .
that is the radio i flashed with (the latest 6.35) and tried a lower radio and still doesn't work..The downloads never start..I cannot revert back to stock rom either as I get an error.
This is a gsm hero from telus
Is there a way to do a system restore?
Remember market issues are almost always server issues...
I was having issues the other day too

Workaround for CM7 wifi issues

So yesterday, after having CM7 loaded for about 2 weeks, my wifi stops working.. After doing a bit of research I discover its a common problem, so I try the various solutions including changing the number of channels and both upgrading & downgrading my radio image, but nothing works.. Somewhere along the line I lost my ClockWorkMod recovery image & being the newbie that I am I decided to go back to the start & follow the process that I initially used to root (the one at unlockr.com), but at the last step, instead of installing the rootedupdate.zip file I decided to try my luck with installing CM7 again, & lo & behold it worked, wifi's working again...
not really sure which step of the root process fixed the issue but if I had to guess I'd say the correct radio image was flashed, maybe someone could properly identify the correct solution...?
My adb logcat session shows that its trying to connect to some network that is unavailable and fails. ı tried to remove the 2nd , 3rd offline networks and it started working.
thanks very much deleting the saved networks worked!! wifi back on

Indeed it works...but only for the first time. As soon as you disable WiFi and enable it once again, the problem is back. So you will have to delete the saved networks one by one, each time you want to connect and in the end you will have no more saved networks left (like me). Now the only "workaround" is to enter the network details every time I want to connect.
Is there still ni working solution for this?
still no WLAN
Having to choose the lesser evil between:
no GPS under CM 7.1 or
no WLAN under CM 7.0.3 I chose the latter.
The antenna works, tethering too, the signal is detected, but logging into a WLAN fails, it keeps scanning over and over. Deleting other networks didn't work.
Any hint?
BTW, I tried 7.2 nightlies... since Market (aka g-Play) is missing there is no real use so far.
Apart from that - CM rules!
I am using both of them right now and it is okay.
Sometimes I won't get any GPS fix and I have to switch it off and on again (or restart the phone in the worst case) to have signal.
CM 7.1 with latest radio (7.13.35.13).

Using cm7.2 last nightly and every thing works just fine! Give it a try!

The radio should be the difference here as it seems that CM > 7.1 don't have GPS bugs anymore.
Update your radio version to newest (7.13.35.13). Everything work fine in CM7.2 for me.
I know it s been a bit but thanks for the info helped alot deleting the random networks while out and about after deleting 3 wifi runs great

No GPS Satellite after CM7

Hi, I've just make my HTC wildfire into CM7. It worked so nicely.
But one thing I realise I was unable to locate GPS satellite with my navigation software.
Is it something to do with the radio? Can anyone please give me a full guide to solve this problem?
Thanks!
This is a known problem. Flash the latest radio from the Wildpuzzle thread
Here's the link...

thank you micheal and steve for the fast reply!! thanks =D
still unable to locate after i've flushed the radio image. please help =(
Try flashing Radio which ends with 19.25, not the one which ends with 20.10.
Another method is (was) to flash the old Nightly #0, because, GPS worked with this, irrespective of radio version, and, flash the new version over #0 without wipe, however, it seems the only site that hosted the old nightlies has removed it. :/
Try looking around and see if you can find the old nightly #0. Maybe someone has uploaded it in the forum, not sure though.
Does the GPS icon start flashing, but it doesnt connect? Or does the icon not appear at all?
If it starts flashing but stays flashing, make sure your internet is "fully connected" (the status bar icons turn green). Until then, I've found that GPS does not get a hook.

[Q] No mobile internet with cLK

I tried using cLK this morning in combination with several ROMS, but I cannot seem to get the mobile internet working.
ROMS tested:
- MIUI (official) with Tytung r14 kernel
- Mwakious Nightmare (cLK version)
- Dorimanx ROM
Everything works fine, but it just doesn't seem to fire up the mobile internet connection at all. I know cLK works with PPP, but could it be, that my phone operator doesn't support this somehow? The APN settings are in order and I even deleted the APN and manually added it again. It just doesn't connect.
Is there a reasonable explenation for this? MAGLDR does not give any problem at all.
Thanks in advance.
Wow...nobody?
Lack of response is usually because no one else is seeing the issue you're reporting. Did you also post this issue in the cLK thread?
Have you tried either of the following?
1. Reboot the phone after changing the APN settings.
2. Turn off the radio (go to airplane more) and turn it on again.
Data disconnect with cLK is a well known phenomena (seems to be both hardware and operator dependent).

I did, and then I started to doubt myself if I was asking the question in the right section of the forum , so I posted it here as wel.
In regards to your tricks, unfortunately that didn't work. Though I thank you for your response. I'll try again this weekend, as I am using this phone for work as well ;-)

I m using hyperdroid v6 rom with clk1.4, recovery 4 and having no data issues till yet
Though ppp is unstable in nature and data drops happen...yet most of the times it works
I had issues when i used radio 2.15 or 2.14 or any other radio..... it was only radio 2.12 which made mobile internet quite usable
So i suggest that u must try radio 2.12 with clk... if it doesn't work...try the latest hyperdroid build... hopefully ur data issues might get solved
If u hav TMOUS HD2, use radio 2.07.50 and for EU HD2 usec2.12.50
