Just boot the phone up again and reinstall Clockwork recovery again. Some times it takes 2 times to get it to work.
If I helped you hit the Thanks button below!

What this means is you still have the stock recovery. Did you root? Are you s=off? If yes to all, try to flash the CWRecovery and it should go through. I rooted, backed up, and flash my wifes mt4g with no issues.

If your going into the stock recovery everytime... then I dont think you have clockwork installed. just because it says it installs doesnt mean anything. Which way did you go about rooting?

Please post questions in Q&A section.

I am having issues with this as well and ive installed and uninstalled rom manger 4 times now

this might be a dumb question... for those who are having trouble are you remembering to select "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" before selecting "Reboot into Recovery" or "Backup Current ROM"? if you don't select that then nothing else will work right

[Q] I can't pass through "ClockMod Recovery". I am stuck, PLEASE HELP, I NEED YOU
HELLO ALL,
I USED THIS LINK http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858996
TO ROOT MY MY TOUCH 4G PHONE AND IT WORKED FINE UNTIL I ATTEMPT TO INSTALL OVERCLOCKING SOFTWARE FROM>>>
http://theunlockr.com/2010/12/14/ho...ted-s-off-t-mobile-mytouch-4g-or-t-mobile-g2/
AND AFTER DOING WHAT THEU SAID MY PHONE JUST ACTED CRAZY/
EVERYTIME I TRIED TO TURN THE PHONE ON IT VIBRATES CONTINUESLY AND NEVER GETS TO THE OS. SO I LEFT IT ON FOR NIGHT LIKE THAT AND I WOKE UP IN THE MORNING OBVIOUSLY BETTERY WAS COMPLETLY DRAINED ( AFTER ALL THE VIBRATING BACK AND FORTH)
ANYWAYS, NOW IT JUST TURNS ON AND STAYS AT " MY TOUCH 4G SCREEN WHERE ITS WHITE AND THAT WRITING" IT JUST FREEZES.
IF I TRY TO HOLD VOL DOWN AND CLICK POWER BUTTON, I GET TO THE PAGE WHERE ITS WHITE AND FASTBOOT, RECOVERY, FACTORY RESET,SIMLUCK,IMAGE CRC MENU.
I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING IN THAT MENU INLUDING FACTORY RESET, NOTTING WORKS.
WHEN I ALSO TRY RECOVERY FROM THERE I CAN GET TO "ClockMod Recovery" BUT I CANT EVEN ACCES INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD, WHEN I TRY THAT ALL I SEE IS A BLACK SCREEN AND A HAT AND A BIG EYE UNDER IT.
THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING,
Step one, slow down
step two, turn off the caps.
Step three it's obvious that you have s=off if you have clockwork ROM on your phone.
At the top of your phone What recovery image do you have? 3.0.0.5? or a 2.x one?
thank you for responding, I have v3.0.0.5 version

as long as you do not have any errors on your recovery image about not being able to mount anything....to get your phone working you can do one of two things.
1)You can flash any Gingerbread based ROM either from Cyanogen(mod) or from TeamRoyal. Those all can be found in our Development section from your recovery image.
2) you can flash the PD15IMG and restore you phone back to 100% via the HBoot (engineering) screen, that can be found in our development section as well.
no luck
I get notting but a black screen with hat and eye under, everytime i try to choose anything from clockworkmod menu.I have adb installed on my pc and it regonizes my device , is there a way to reset the phone from there? maybe?

when you select something you need to select it with the track pad. If you use the power button you'll get the text will disappear.
the only way you can use ADB to flash stuff is if you have the engineering bootloader. If you just followed TheUnlockr's method then you do not have it.
i use volume buttons and power button to select it
oh ok now i used the mouse button select and i can select but now the phone is keep resrarting every like 10 seconds with a vibrate, nottting happens just restarting over and over. Where should I go next?
( remember fartest i can go is the "colockworkmod")

As he mentioned above, you need to use the trackpad buttons to make selections, NOT the power button.
If you can successfully reboot into recovery, just wipe the phone completely and flash a new ROM...

If you navigate to "advanced" and select it will it give you a new set of options?
if it does try the "mount USB" and plug it into a computer and see if you can surf the SD card via a computer.

3.0.0.5 is only compatible with 2.3 ROMS.
use this to flash it
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.p...pdate_Guide#First_Method_.28via_RomManager.29
and you'll want to use the "from recovery" method.

Once you are done with the PD15IMG you will have to reroot your phone. IT will return it to a 100% stock fashion.
after you re-root the phone please flash the 3.0.0.6 to help save any confusion down the road.

The original 3.0.0.6 was made by option94, and you can flash it from your existing recovery or fastboot, so booting into a ROM is not necessary.

Fixed [Q] bootrom corrupt don't reboot seek xda rom backup fail

Bought on crapbay last week said unlocked but I don't know how.
So I prepared, with syncing to google

hold home and press power button? home isn't a real button on htcHD difernt buttons maybe..
(don't dare try now) There is no directory on the device called by the date...
tried "Desire HD easy s-off" from windows7,phone-batteryonly yes?!
claimed I didn't have root! Thought maybe thats how it had been previously been unlocked.
so I checked the s-off already and ran again..
"Bootrom corrupt, don't reboot, seek help at xda"
Device works until reboot or power down I suppose.
rommanager claims sd card not mounted so can't try/do backup from there. but rommanager is lying cos I can play games on the sdcard?
plus if rommanager does same as last time I'll have to rebbot and can't now.
Help and advice very welcome

how can I backup ROM?
hold home and power doesn't work from off at all.

how to back up ROM?
My biggest question is will I be able to turn off vibrate everywhere in cyanogen including market and sms etc where it won't turn off at all. Vibrate sucks battery like an electric whore!
Did you pressed the "install clockworkmod recovery" button in fastboot?
And yes, you can turn off vibrations

now you mention it fastboot flashes up and down so quick I can't see it.
and I now know recovery mode is power and volume down, but that doesn't work either...
Fixed
So rom manager needed me to go stand outside to do a backup. needs a signal to do internal stuff. Go figure.
thanks all

[Q] How to install ClockworkMod Recovery

I'm currently running Prime! v1.3r2 and want to flash up to Prime! V1.4 but I am having some issues/ questions about CWM. The way I remembered, you just powered the device off, then held down vol down and power and it should boot into CWM. When I do this, it boots to a message that says "Press <VOL_UP> to execute or <VOL_DOWN> to cancel wiping data" with a glowing wipe data box at the center of the screen. I'm paranoid to do this and always press the vol down key. I know that I had to use CWM when rooting and flashing to Prime! v1.3r2, but it was super late at night and I was super tired and kind of zombied my way through it. Could someone please shed some light on what I am doing wrong?
Also, when using Rom Manager, when you go into Flash ClockworkMod Recovery, there are alot of devices listed, but no Asus Transformer so I apparently can't load it that way either. Do we use one from another device or are we currently not able to use Rom Manager?
Thanks to any who can help educate me!
Basicly you have to power off ur Transformer, hold down "Power" and "Vol-Down" at the same time and continue holding until some white letters appear on the left upper corner of your TF-display. From now on you have 5 seconds to release the two pressed buttons and press "Vol-Up".
If you want to start over again, u can follow this guide:

In a bit of a bind...
So I finally rooted my Transformer, using the windows method of doing that (using APX), and everything went well. However, it seems I now can't get into recovery mode. I use the Vol Down + power, followed by Vol Up, get the message that it is booting the recovery, but it just sits there spinning.
(Exact message is "Booting recovery kernel image)
I am thinking that said kernel image can't be located.
Sadly, I am now not able to boo the tablet in APX mode to try and fix it.
does anybody have any suggestion? I would like to install clockworkmod recovery, but at this point I am not too sure what to do.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Stuck on "Booting recovery kernel image"
Were you ever able to resolve this issue? I have exactly the same problem. I've tried flashing alternate recovery.img files, but still cannot get CWM to come up.
Thanks!

SOLVED: I finally got past this by using nvflash to rewrite all the partitions and install a new ROM. I used the instructions at
http://tabletroms.com/forums/transf...ment/976-nvflash-unbricking-forever-root.html
which is written for Prime 1.4. This is possibly overkill, because it rewrites ALL the partitions and you lose all data, but since my problem appeared to be related to something other than just the boot loader and/or the system partition, I decided to take the hit. I followed those instructions as is, and got a Prime 1.4 system with CWM working perfectly. Then I just grabbed the latest Prime build and patches and applied them from CWM.
This is a huge relief, as I've been fighting with this for quite awhile. I see that many people have had a similar problem, and on other Tegra based tablets as well. While I haven't tried it, I presume that from this point, I could go back and install stock again, rooted or unrooted, with the BRK's nice tool from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185104
I hope this helps out someone else with a similar problem.

Thank you. One thng.... it says flash in recovery mode, how do i do that?
Plug the device into the mains, plug the usb cable to pc and device. Open hardware manager on your pc. Then hold the back button for 2 secs, then while still holding the back button hold the power button down for 2 secs, then keep holding the back button for a further 2 secs. In the usb section of your hardware manager a nvidia recovery will show up. The screen on the device will remain black. That is nvidia recovery mode.

Also... what is a nandroid back up and how do you do it?
nandroid backup is part of clockwork mod. It creates a entire back up of your current rom, to restore if a new rom flash goes wrong.

1. Press power button, Choose reboot into recovery or something like that.
2. When the screen turns off half way, press power button to turn off the screen completely. Once screen turns off completely, let the power button go. wait for 1, 2 seconds.
3. Then press power button until you see the screen is changed. Once you see the screen changes, let the button go. You should be in the recovery mode.
Most of the people using vega comes from android phone, so they are pretty familiar with the recovery thingy
Hope it works for you.

You can check other threads, but IIRC I think you have to hit the down volume again. I use something different, so I haven't had to do it this way.

Same happened to me. I let it sit, and then rebooted and fortunately it was normal again. You have to flash the appropriate recovery image from PC or via the flashify app, from the market. Make sure you get the right image.
I used CWM flashed from ROM Manager for a long time, this device doesn't work that way.
