Without even going there, I can tell you no ones in that channel because I know what DevNull means and why he said that. I also know how to use IRC
Here's another crazy thought, he'd probably update the link he provided if there was updated information he wanted to make public.

The channel they are all in is #DroidEris, they also like to idle in #Dev. You can do a /list in IRC for all the channels.

Good Job People.....

i love this website....i love this CDMA group especially....All the Devs...members..
i remember when the official release(2.1) came out... each and every member here were warning users not to use it...as it will lead to losing root....
Some yelled, some warned..all for one cause to protect the member's phone from not being able to root and not being able to enjoy the custom ROM's(kudos to all the devs)....
days went...and now when people started complaining that they want root,
the senior members/devs came forward and are willing to help.
very very dedicated community...
few members that i know off who are trying so hard to root the official 2.1 update...

HAHAHA Well, I do appreciate it.
Hopefully we will soon have some big stuff coming FroYo and Root 2.1.

anything on the gingerbread rom

I know its bad to talk about this stuff on here but I was just wandering if anyone has heard anything bout the gingerbread rom I have been to busy to keep up with the news and the little searches I have done are what I already heard thank you for any information

I'm interested in this too but didn't want to be the sacrificial lamb.

Last I heard, pk was trying to hook up with birdman to work on the kernel, but birdman was offline for a while. Looks like he responded to kaos yesterday though, so I'm hoping we'll see some progress on the twitter feeds from one of those guys soon.

i have no update on the gb rom but punkkaos is moving forward with cyanogenMod. he sends out update on twitter. the last update was that the radio was working, outbound calls was working but audio was not.
he does a good job of sending out project status.
thanks to the guys who donated a fascinate to punkkaos.

Thank you to those who post status updates here so those that choose to not use IRC can still be in the loop.

Annnnnd...now audio is working too. That guy is a crazy awesome!

If anyone is interested, I've setup the IRC channel #a500 on irc.freenode.net. I picked up an A500 today and I plan to start hacking on it in my free time. =)

Group Thanks

So I've been a lurker on XDA for a while, and recently signed up for an account (and this is obviously my first post). It seems as though I can't "thank" people in their posts for the information they share. So I'll do a group thanks here:
Thanks to xHausx for the rooted stock OTA ROMs. I had rooted my EVO long ago, and didn't want to lose root with the recent updates. I was patient and have maintained root through the past 2 updates.
Thanks to the CM team. The guide on your wiki on how to root got me started down this path of righteousness
Thanks to Amon_RA for his recovery image. Clockwork popped my recovery cherry, but after much reading, I made the switch.
Thanks to the developers of Unrevoked. Rooting made easy.
There are lots of others who have had little bits and morsels of information that I've used in the past 8 months or so; too many to call out individually, but thanks to anyone and everyone that posted a "here's how I did it" or "here's what worked for me". Thank you all.

I believe you can "thank" now. It's required to atleast post once I think. And yes these guys here at XDA are amazing.
