I just spoke with him today, no he did not get a job at HTC or anything like that. He was just feeling bogged down having to read through hundreds of posts a day. He said he will still be making announcements on XDA from time to time but he wont be as active as he was. There will be future releases from JesusFreke so no body panic, its not the end of the world.

Can't say I blame him one little bit. Has anyone looked at his profile page and looked at some of the basic questions on there? People seem to think he's the only source of info about ANYTHING Android related. I still can't fathom how people ignore all the stickied posts and also refuse to use the search button.

Listen ****-stick. It's people like you that made him go into hiding. If you don't like his ROM, then flash the factory ROM back.

Just want to introduce myself, im fed up with the petty bull**** over on the eris forums and thanks to some HUGE help from tkirton, im coming here where i hear the members are much more helpful and open to new devs. just want to say that anything i can do to help, let me know.
i have a little experience, i was the first one to get a2sd working with the eris roms and me and tkirton have worked quite a lot on working it into other roms.

noobnl has done more for the epic than most people on this forum have, and only a handful of developers have contributed equal or more. most of the people who post here and make roms simply theme a few files and call it developing. what you need to understand that even though they have cm7 booting, noob had cm6 booting months ago, that isn't the hard part. the hard part is getting the radios and data to work, noob did this with help from very few people, and it took a long time (because he largely did it by himself minus help from skeeterslint forcystos and a few others) but so far not ONE other people have managed to accomplish this task.

You probably shouldn't run your mouth (fingers?) without learning a bit of history, not-so-ScientificOne. As others have stated, noobnl has contributed much of the early work that current development is built upon...

Thanks for all the hard work you put into both the CM6 project and the Epic as a whole. Your efforts have gotten us really far in this game. Even for the stuff you indirectly accomplished, like gaining the attention of some of the more seasoned devs, so that we could get more stuff done.
You're definitely a great resource and this community is better for it.

My post may have been a little harsh, but obviously you don't know what you're talking about. In regards to CM7, the team of Dameon and others aren't relying on what noobnl has contributed. In fact, who do you think this blog post was aimed towards?

Dameon and others are trying to get it done the "right way".
It appears, to me at least, that noobnl is attempting (by starting this thread) to get some kind of credit for the work they're putting together, which is probably very little, if any. And if any, I'm sure he'll get the credit he deserves.
Sure, noobnl has done a lot for the community, I for one certainly appreciate it, but that's not what this thread is about now is it?
hmmm, so sounds like we have two dev-groups working on CM now because I'm pretty sure the recently announced group working on CM7 basically said straight up they had yet to even look at noobls progress bc it wasn't actually CM worthy and bc they started group up.
so using logic we can see that noobls 'transition' is to a different group. to bad he won't enlighten us on who that other group is. imagine that, half a statement that tells us not much at all and then some "look at me and what i did" statement, as usual.

i did post a comment on your thread asking you to pm me but you never did and i got impatient and hyped up about things and i just rushed things and posted finished stable builds of your rom without your permission thinking things would be okay if i emphisized 3x on the thread i didn't do anything but finish your rom all credit goes to you for all other work. but again i went about things the wrong way i wasn't trying to take full credit for your rom i thought i made that clear in the first post but i guess saying it 3x still isn't the right way to go about things, glad to see we're working things out (btw everyone check out the title of his thread now ) for the better now bro! so i'd like to say this publicly, SORRY FOR USING YOUR ROM WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION LIQUID! i said in my rom's thread that it was based of nfx rom and i gave him credit, i said what i did. i didn't do what i did with liquid's rom, two completely different things... il Duce ik i screwed up with this rom and again i won't be making any mess ups like this again (me = thinking before my actions from now on xda) sorry

My rom (I say that very loosely) is based on nfx, but only with full permission from nfinite and on popular request. Even further I credited (with permission ) anyone who helped in testing or debugging, and that is the proper thing to do.

Which means that it is my task and my right to put up the final update to my own ROM, not have someone else do it without even letting me know beforehand or asking me, and then posting my exact thread over again instead of PMing me the link to add it in the OP, and then telling me after the fact.
Kifno has already got in touch with me and we're working it out, you guys can relax now.

again we talked things out and i'm sorry bro. and yes i may just be improving others work (the espreeso 2.1 rom i posted) and changing things, i never took full credit actually most of it goes to nfx b/c everyday i wake up he has a pm in my inbox helping me out with the espresso 2.1 rom, it wouldn't be where it is at without his help. only thing i can take full credit for is my build.prop's thats the only thing i actually did from my own work as for the espresso 2.1 rom that was from the help of many other members on this site, i never took full credit for that rom. i use the term my rom, when i refer to the espresso 2.1 rom, b/c i changed it, not b/c i developed it from scratch and did everything to it on my own, i'm not a super-dev yet lol. i'm just improving other's work and learning along the way and giving them credit and asking permission along the way from now on until i know enough to make something of my own again (besides text files lol) that will be of great help to the community....but for now i'm focuses on improving my rom (AGAIN IT ISN'T COMPLETELY MY ROM MANY OTHERS HELPED ME ALONG THE WAY) and helping others with their work for the hero and problems....first person on the list....liquid!!!!!! (we're pming each other now folks working this out for the better so its alright)

You know what man, you're a smark kid, you just take things a bit fast.
You'll grow to understand what it means to command respect here, and I'm sure you'll earn it from everyone. This place is bursting with ideas and creativity, but just PM ROM devs in the future. Every ROM dev needs help, there's no denying that. Sometimes the help you have to offer isn't enough or isn't to their preference, but there's never any harm in PMing to find out.
As far as my ROM goes, with your help, we'll finish this up and finally put an end to all this over exaggerated madness.

Wow man great job kifno. It's tough to own up in the face of so many people watching this, you're really just a good person beyond the scope of these forums. I'm proud to call you a fellow human being. I've been watching this escalate and deescalate and I must say it's been a roller coaster ride. I must say some people have been a bit harsher than they should have, but it's understandable when looked at from a different perspective. Kudos to you again.

Lol, I'm Not Really Sure Why?
But, For Some Reason, It Seems like Some of us Rather Stray Away from the Joking Level, to Instead be Uptight and Insulting!????
Especially when the Majority of us (Members) are Mainly Here to Learn, and Share Knowledge that these ****y Phone Companies Don't want us to Know!!

Hey guys, I'm gonna go a little softy here...you know...since I'm usually ruff, tuff and meaner than a rattle snake, lol
But really, I've noticed a major change in our coummunity lately and for the better. People seem to finally be coming together and helping each other out and not flaming each other back and forth. People are actually working with each other and answering questions instead of yelling 'newbie go find search button'.
I know we've had some issues between us and the mods of late but I think everything is working out for the best. I'm sure things will get better once the changes with xda get buffered and tuned.
You know what guys? This is what its all about right here. A good device, good people and good friends. I think I can finally once again kick back and say I am proud to be an Incredible! And I am most definitely proud to be part of this community!
Thanks guys and lets keep this greatness going people.

I can support this. I actually don't have a problem with XDA or the mod/admins. I just didn't like some of the methods and words used to enforce.

Hmmm... I don't see in the above code where you unmounted Mean Mode and mounted Thanks mode... So you may still have been accidentally stuck in Mean Mode while thanking the community?! How could this be??!!

I agree. It seems like there are huge "flare ups" around here every so often, and they come and go. Things seemed to have mellowed out for now, and people seem to being nice and helping out, like you said.

You're absolutely right WildStang. I've seen a lot more cooperation and a lot less kicking and screaming like 4 year olds. Thanks to all the hard working devs for their roms, kernels, etc. Thank you to all you forum goers who take the time to help out everyone else out here!
