[q] htc hd2 android help - Android Software Development

I am using the t mobile HTC HD2, I have it unlocked and running it for my at&t network. I have also started using the android program through my sim card, so basically my phone is running on the android interface. It works great, however i cannot access the internet nor send/receive picture messages. I need to figure out the VPN setting or Proxy setting for the at&t provider. Since at&t does not have this phone they are unable to help on where or how to do it.

htc hero MMS problem

i have a unlocked sim free HTC hero that i am currently using on AT&T, whenever i try to send an MMS it shows the message pending symbol on the top right of the message and it stays like that for at least an hour and then it finally tells me that the message could not be sent. i have added AT&T's access point name if that makes any difference...
What APN settings are you using? Are you able to receive MMS messages?
i am using the AT&T sim from my iPhone and have read that AT&T has mms disabled. Not sure if this is true. Below are the apn settings I am currently using.

I'm not using a sim from an iPhone so it should be working and those settings are exactly what im using
Make sure your Wi-Fi is off. I also have AT&T and my MMS only works on my Hero when I turn off my Wi-Fi. I can only hope that the rumors of AT&T 3G bands being hidden by the firmware can be true, because it is a ***** having to constantly turn my Wi-Fi off to receive an MMS.
Oh , ok problem solved .
thanks uultramann switching my wi-fi off fixed the problem, but your right that is a hassle, and if the AT&T 3G bands are hidden does that mean there will be some sort of update for the hero to get those bands or am i completely off target?
Does anyone know for T-Mobile USA? Everything works except for MMS!

this is my setup, i can send and recieve mms with no problems how this will work for you guys...
I can receive mms but there is a download button in the mms... once i click on it, it downloads it but i dont know where it is stored... help
for those of you having to turn Wifi off to get their MMS to work, instead of leaving the APN Type blank, try setting it to 'mms' (without the quotes obviously, and all lower case)
that should solve the issue for you.

So you're sending and receiving MMS now with no problems correct?
I'm able to receive MMS, but not send. I get an error saying there is a problem connecting to server.
Is it just me? I don't have the option to leave the APN type blank. I only have the option of "MMS+Internet", "MMS" or "Internet". If I choose MMS, I can send and recieve MMS, but I can't get Internet. If I choose Internet and try to send the picture just hangs and says "Sending..."
What am I missing?

First off, this thread was 7 months ago and it was intended for the Telus Hero that runs 1.5.
Not sure if any changes have been made in the Galaxy that would make things different.

X10a Roger to AT&T

First android phone. Can you make some suggestion?
1. Should I debrand?
2. How to set APN etc.. to AT&T?
3. What apps should I install?
Thanks in advance
1)Try to debrand your phone, I am working on doing that on my x10. You can either debrand it through davinci or through the method that had been posted in this forum
2) here is the AT&T APN settings
Name: AT&T
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: leave blank
Port: leave blank
Username:[email protected]
Password:CINGULAR1
Server: leave blank
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC:310
MNC:410 (note. this could also be 310, 41 or 15)
APN Type: leave blank
3)check the app store and sort by top free apps
hope that helps
i left the username and password blank and it works
I'm using my Rogers x10 on ATT for the last week. I put in those apn settings above and it works great and I didn't debrand it. I'm doing that when I get back to Canada next week
Thank you. Really help....
I would not debrand until I found more about two issues:
1. Missing apps from the market
2. Whether PCCompanion or SEUS is able to continue updating the phone (I assume it will continue if the correct ware is used.
As for the AT&T APNs, they do work with most smartphones, at least the Androids.
You can also use SE website to set the 3g setting for your phone.

T-Mobile USA MMS issue with darkstone Froyo

Has anyone with USA tmobile been able to send an MMS. I can receive them, but they don't seem to want to send at all. Any workaround to this?

I'm running dan1j3l LeoFroyo Sense RC1, and I've got the same issue. I'm pretty sure they know about it...it's one of the bugs yet to be worked out. In the meantime, I've just been attaching pics to an email.
+1 on this. Its not a show stopper but it sure is annoying. I know I can't expect full functionality yet...

Thanks for the help, but I do have those settings. Still not working unfortunately.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I tried both dan's and darkstones's froyo builds. I can only receive but not send.
Could this have something to do with tmobile? maybe a reset of some sort?
Just to let everyone know. I am using a T9193 with ATT. No matter what android build I try I have the same issue. I can receive MMS but not send MMS. So I don't think it is a T-mobile issue only.
I can sent and receive them if my internet in on.
I have the same problem. But someone on the other thread said a different rom like the miri 17.6 fixed it. I still haven't tried it myself tho.
doing a little research about the builds and this question would be answered.
outgoing mms is not working quite yet on most builds. just sit tight.
It's working just have to get your apn right, just got mine working 10mins ago from the thread here

No dice for me with these settings. I managed to send a small picture with the default settings, but anything else is no go.
My phone also keeps bouncing between H and 3G whenever it needs to send / recieve data. But my speeds are incredible slooooow. 30kB/sec down and about 4 kB/sec up.
Thoughts?

[Q] Config HD2 for ATT Web

I need help configuring my unlocked HD2 from T-Mobile (US) to AT&T network. I have called HTC and they emailed me some instructions which sort of matched my phone and I was able to enter those settings but it still didn't work. I called ATT and the person I spoke with couldn't even give me their IP address! So I turned to the web... I am not very tech savy, and I just want to know how to set up my internet to use my ATT data plan! My text messages work fine, except I don't get picture mail - which I'm told is normal if you are using an unlocked phone. Could someone please talk me through setting this up! I would greatly appreciate it!
have a look for "connectionsetup.cab" from the regular hd2, it will set it all up automatically for you.

To make sure you have the right expectation, you won't be getting 3G on AT&T with a TMobile phone, just GPRS. So don't expect fast cellular.
Also, I have an unlocked Telstra phone which connects at 3G/H speeds and also gets MMS. I would think an unlocked TMO phone would get MMS too, just slowly. Here are the settings:
For Internet
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: [Leave Blank]

For MMS:
