I use phone mypc. You can download it from the market and use it on three pc's. Also you can move the app to your sd card to use on other phones.

I was thinking of totally free apps.

try logmein
its a remote access app

Pocket cloud by wyse.

Just download the free app pocket cloud. Set all up giving me access to my Windows 7 pc very easily using the gmail log in. No sound and looks like ill have to pay for the pro app to get it. Anyone use it, is it any good or could you recommend an app for free that would do the same with sound and is not to hard to set up.

Try TeamViewer.

What is "The Cloud?"

Is it dropbox or something like it? Wondering because I am trying to get Android 3.0 music player to sync all my music and it is not working with dropbox (meaning I don't know how to do it).

The "cloud" is the storage of any type of media on an outside storage service that is avail to any computer / phone / internet ready device at any time.
Dropbox is a great example. You can access your media on different devices, change the files, and the changes show on your other devices.
Think of it as wireless sync for files not stored on your phone that you can access anytime.

Thank you for clearing that up for me.
Has anyone tried to sync the Android 3.0 Music Player to Dropbox?

I sync all my pics music and documents to drop box... but I use the dropbox app.
For streaming my own content I use orb to stream from my computer to my phone.

I'm sad I have an old Mac laptop from like 2005 and I can't download the computer program.

Just a few days after posting this Amazon came out with their own cloud system, its pretty cool. I get 5gb of free storage and my songs from my computer are finally showing up on my phone through the Amazon Cloud Player. I'm happy now.

View pc files from phone via usb

Ok, heres my next question,
Does anyone know of an app that I can browes the files on a pc thru my droid when it is connected to said pc via usb.
I know of just about all the apps that will do it via the network, but in this case I'm trying to do it via usb.

Browse the pc's files from the phone over USB? Maybe with a 3rd-party app that had a client on the pc.
When the pc browses the phone's files, it mounts the sdcard or emmc as a volume. You can't reverse the process except by using network (cifs, etc.)
Was not sure if it is even possible, but u have to admit it would be very useful

If you are plugged into the PC, why wouldn't you just use the PC to browse files? It'd be easier to use than a phone browser.

I know that I can do that, that's not the point, I'm trying to pull files from a pc that has no video card.

See, now THAT makes more sense

Splashtop 2 HD Free

The Splashtop HD 2 app is free at the moment in the play market for a limited time.

Very odd. I tried downloading this on my main account, but it would always pop up with an error. Then I switch over to my other account and it works fine? Weird, but hey, I got it for free! Thanks!

Is it better than the stock Splashtop of Asus?
but if you want to access any computer outside of your local network it costs 9.99/year. They just changed their marketing model with the new version.

Very good app for remote access to a computer on your LAN.
The app itself is free, period.
Downloaded, thanks OP!
