Hello. I have a htc magic 32A with perfect spl rooted by the one click root method but i want to install cm6 but i never made it. I have a few doubts:
1º - After i rooted my htc magic, i have to download rom manager and then flash clockwordmod recovery or Ra recovery 1.7??
2º - Then i have to download and do a froyo radio update right to cm6 work? If yes, how and will not brick my phone when turn on wand where i download it?
3º - i presume the update froyo's radio is before i install the cm6. If i update radio and the phone works, then is only install the cm6, port and Gapps all together with rom manager??
I need help please because i have tried so many times install a custom rom and i failed always(thanks god a do always a backup). I want to leave 1.5 stock rom
please write first all you can see in fastboot here...
i think you have only to flash a custom recovery.
dont use rom manager, i have heard there were a lot of bricks with that app and clockwork.
use a amonRA recovery.
follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756918
and all should work.
but first post all you see in fastboot.
ok i flash a recovery and then? i dont need to have a new radio and port to the install cm6 and Gapps?
first post all what you see in fastboot.
then everyone can help you. without these informations we cant help you, we dont now, witch radio do you have or witch spl, etc..
My phone is SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.33.0014 (SAPP10000)
RADIO-3.22.23.18
i'm rooted by one click root and already installed rom manager to flash the recovery
Then i dont know how to install cm6 6.0 stable and i want very much.
please help!!!
When you install custom recovery and dont use ROM mangaer it has bugs you can install Ra's recovery v1.7 adn install it via fast boot, download CM6,kernel for ebi36 i think it is and gapps tiny, install via recovery(flash from zip) first cm6 then kernel and then tiny apps and you should be fine
wiki.cyanogenmod.com
and the radio? i have a RADIO-3.22.23.18. Don't have to update the radio? If yes, when i have to update? Before or after the install cm6?
and one more thing. I have to flash the ra recovery via rom manager and reboot to install cm6 or it has to be in other way?
New Radio doesnt work on CM6, install RA recovery via ROM manager at your own risk, then wipe all data via recovery and then instal CM6 kernel and gapps
i dont have to install the 3.22.20.17 radio?? i tried many times to install cm6 in ra recovery rebooted by rom manager but when i flash the rom, it always show an error "status 7" and failed the cm6 installation

Try to install it but it doesnt matter it needs radio 3.22.xx.xx any version,ok wtich version of RA's recovery do you have you must installl the right one???And did you download the right files i can give you if you want to????
the recovery i flashed the ra recovery v1.7.0H by rom manager and then i try to install the rom. I almost sure i have the right files to apply the cm6. I dont understand why is the error "statues 7" when i flash the rom...
PLEASE HELP
Did you try to install CM6 via recovery? Here is the link to download all file and put them on the sdcard, shut down phone, boot to recovery(Home+POwer),there is option install from sdcard.
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Upgrading_from_CyanogenMod_4.2_to_CyanogenMod_5/6
again and again always shows the same error...
i begin the phone in recovery(home and power) and try to install but when i flash the rom, in the midlle of instalation, error "status 7" instalation aborted
Maybe rom manager did something wrong, download eyegor's radio switcher, and flash only old recovery(search it here on forum for magic),download from page all files form my last post wipe all data(dont forget to do that),and then install like cyanogenmod said you should do
i couldnt made it, i think i give up, i am forced to stay in the 5.0.8 stable
Always show a error "status 7", instalation aborted in the cm6 rom...
It is better then to go on Rogers Android 2.1 then to stay on CM5 it is faster and has Sense UI (original HTC),if you want it i will tell you how to install it
if you dont mind i accept the help because im not an expert if you prefer you can send me a PM
dont forget that i have: SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.33.0014 (SAPP10000)
RADIO-3.22.23.18
You must first put an eng spl which is 1.33.2010 im not at hime so i cnat post you link,it is done via recovery its .zip format, then you must download radio switcher by eyegor and reboot into fast boot and press flash new button, and download capychimps rom or stock rom with root and install it,if you dont know anything abut your spl ask on capychimps thread

3. flashrec recovery - cant create backup..kept telling 'backup command failed..
i tried to Google it, 'xda'ed this problem but found nothing.
pls, if there any similar case solved pls direct me..really jelous with these guys running froyo, or at least got multi-touch features.

Use another recovery...
Do the steps in the guide in my signature for the right recovery...

hi!
i found a shop in my area (slo) to unlock my phone. but i'm a bit confused. if i get my phone s-off-ed, as i understand this means full system root, which should men i should be somehow able to flash clockwork mod and then custom roms. this should be done by downgrading to 2.1 and hboot 0.8x.
i found a video tutorial on downgrading here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=981765
and my question: shouldn't i be able to flash clockworkmod directly (without downgrading), since i will have my phone fully unlocked? if possible, how?
I think the best is after the s-off, install and older RUU, then use unrevoked 3.14 thats the most easy and i think the safest way
Most efficient way

Hi
I have rooted wildfire with s-off (xtc clip) and Hboot - 1.01.0002 . I tried the above method but fastboot wont detect the zip file and says not found. I am unable to install clockworkmod using rom manager, whenever i do, i get the red traingle of death.
What to do now ?
Please help...
u donot need to downgrade with an RUU. and further doing so may make ur phone S-ON again (im not sure about this).
u have a simple process.
u can flash any "recovery image" via fastboot mode.
and that's all, after doing that u can flash any rooted custom rom from that recovery.
getting to S-OFF is an expensive task yaar (as far as now). try to keep it in S-OFF permanently.

have u done the "PC49IMG.zip" process with the file in the above link. it is the process for flashing clockwork mod "recovery image". once this is successful, then u can install any custom roms from the CWM recovery.
note: donot do the PC49IMG.ZIP process with any outside file (excluding the link above). if u do that, u might loose the S-OFF
Alternatively, u can flash other recoveries also (i dont know any others)
I got it eventually, I downgraded using ruu rom to hboot. 80 rooted it again and now have 2.3.3 over it
Thanks anyways ..

How will you lose s-off by flashing a PC49IMG.zip? XTC Clip wipes the secuflag in radio NVRAM, no way of getting it back via a normal update.
edit: never mind........

hi guys (espacially FeaRThiS),
i followed the guide for downgrading/rooting the legend. goldcard is on and it is rooted (when i start adb shell i get "#" without su). but after copying testimage.zip and renaming it to LEGEIMG.zip, i get after rebooting the message "can not roll back hboot version".
at this point:
hboot 1.01.0000
firmware 2.1
software 1.31.405.4
i did the whole procedure once before but the rom-manager (clockwordmod) did nothing, no sd-card partioning, no rom-installation...
anyone with the same problem? any solution?
thx...
Try this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=845512
(section "Already OTA updated with HBOOT 1.00")
It contains also flashing of the misc partition that comes with the downgrade hack (Hack 4 Legend v5)
GL
For now nobody has found a way to downgrade HBOOT version 1.01. So this is impossible at the moment.
first: thanks fo the replys.
@amoskas
i followed exactly that guide. after "adb reboot bootloader" and flashing with the LEGEIMG.zip, clockworkmod does nothing. whatever i click, install rom from sd, download rom, partitionind sd... absolutly nothing. cwm-recovery was installed. but when i start recovery from boot-menu i only get the blue recovery-menu 2e.
@qzem
maybe youre right!

CWM doesn't suppose to do anything here. LEGEIMG.zip is RUU zip which has nothing to do with CWM, it is to be recognized and picked directly by bootloader. If it isn't, I guess your problem is that bootloader doesn't see it on your SD card. There are two, possible reasons why... one is your SD card isn't detected by bootloader and two, your SD card isn't formatted as FAT32.

hi BlaY0,
is it possible to check even the bootloader is detecting my sd-card?
i formated the sd with my phone and checked it with my computer now: it is fat32
thx...
edit: LEGEIMG.zip was picked. after loading and checking, while updating it said "can not roll back hboot version". the rest were updatet.
question: what kind of sd-card are supported?
I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i will write a little guide soon....
Got the same error during update with this manual. Waiting for you solution.
i didnt understand what u have did and what ur error is.
but i can say onething confidentially, which is
IT IS PRACTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR AN UNROOTED PHONE TO DOWNGRADE ITS HBOOT.
i mean to say is by keeping a downgraded version of LEGEIMG.ZIP and flashing HBOOT from that wont be possible. correct me if im wrong
At this moment I've got firmware ver 2.1 build 1.31.405.4, flashed from testimage.zip (renamed to LEGEIMG.zip) of r4-legend-root, non working ROM Manager (doesn't reboot/backup), saying that CWM Recovery 2.5.0.7 installed (but it seems to be inaccessable) and HBOOT 1.01, with "can not roll back" error. Phone seems to be rooted, adb shell get # shell.
What should I do further ?
Fixed a bit and executed step2 from r4-legend-root, flashed CM from SD.
Thanks.

You did what exactly?
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
MySpace legend Euthanasie hboot 1.01 US running cm7stable now.
Instead of using ROM Manager, which didnt work, i just renamed the cm7.zip to update.zip, started the recovery and flashed it.

I'm really at a stage now where i wanna just throw my htc desire hd at the wall!!!! I am trying to just install a custom firmware, not much to ask considering the mammoth amount of hacking you have to do to even downgrade the firmware. I have done absolutley everything that needs to be done to root this device, i have downgraded the firmware i have rooted it, switched off eng s-off and radio s-off i have full root acess with terminal emulator, i put the update zip on the sd card it says something about installation invalid thats because first time i did not disable radio s-off then it went slightly further but then said some other error i have tried everything, i tried rom manager and selected reboot in recovery mode but now it just makes the phone freeze on the htc boot screen when selecting recovery from the boot menu, can someone please please help, how hard can it be just to install coredroids firmware, why can't it just be as easy as the pd98img firmware
help much apprieciated
clockworkmod recovery works fine. Something has just gone wrong with your installation.
To avoid complications later on, you haven't "switched off ENG S_OFF" you've made made S-ON S-OFF and added ENG S-OFF.
You talk about update.zip, is this for a ROM (CoreDroid?)? Which ROM? Did it tell you to rename it to update.zip? If a ROM then it had nothing to do with Radio S-OFF as you only need that for flashing radio.img files and if it was a radio you were trying to push you should use fastboot not recovery. Are you using the right version of recovery (it's very specific about the version required)?
When everything has been installed correctly and instructions followed it is VERY easy to install coredroid's ROM.
hi thanks for the reply, i just follwed the instructions for installing a custom rom as it asks u to chang it to s-off but the guide also says you need to install the update.zip for clockworkmod to get to choose the custom flash rom you want to use but all i get when i select update.zip from the recovery menu is e:signature verification failed installation aborted
Ok, they don't make it very clear do they?
Have you got ROM Manager installed?
Have you got clockworkmod recovery installed? If so what version is it. If not then use ROM Manager to flash it and flash 2.5.1.3 version (as that what it says).
Get the above. Then let me know.
hi mate its version 4.2.0.2 if i select flash clockworkmod recovery it completly causes the recovery menu in bootloader to just hang on the htc startup screen

Sorry, I meant recovery version but it looks like you still need to do that.
In that case push the recovery.img file (grab from the Coredroid thread) using fastboot.
Normally issues are because people miss things but you've confirmed you have ENG S-OFF, Radio S-OFF and root.
ok i tried running this image file in fastboot from this thread http://android.modaco.com/content/z...led-tft-30-nov-2-5-1-3-clockworkmod-recovery/
its written ok but when i select recovery from bootloader it just hangs on the htc startup screen grrr this is just impossible.
That's not for the desire HD.
Grab a 3.x.x.x version from clockwork 3.0.2.8 thread and try that (you can downgrade easily once we got something working).
