Angry birds not installing - Droid X General

I know it's not the end of of the world, but it's bugging the $&#* out of me. I tried to load the seasons app and it would not install. Now I did have the non-add hacked version of the base app, so I thought "hey it might not like the cracked app so let me unload that" now none of them will install. What can I do to fix this.????

Cleared system cache and market cache. No luck.
anyone have any more ideas?

Do you have root+clockwork recovery? You can try clearing the cache partition and the Dalvik cache. I've got another idea as well. Might want to check if Angry Birds left behind some files on your SD card, or making sure the card isn't corrupt.

[Q] "Phone Storage Space is getting low" with a2sd on Liberated FR008

Search is not working on either IE or FF for me right now, so I'm starting a new thread. Sorry about it, as i'm sure this is a duplicate question. Know that I tried for awhile to search first.
I've got an Aria running Attn1's Liberated FR008 ROM. a2sd has been enabled. However, I've got almost no phone memory left. I've heard that even with a2sd, some of the app dalvik stuff is stored on the entirely insufficient internal phone storage, and I have recently downloaded a bunch more apps. I have used CacheCleaner NG, which did not alleviate the problem. I have also "cleaned up" the Dalvik Cache using Titanium Backup, which found nothing to clean.
I'm wondering if there's some sort of area on the internal phone memory I can clean myself using Astro or something, because it seems that with most of the bulk of app storage being on the SD card, and every app with options to store cache on the SD card doing so, I should have more room on the internal storage.
What do you guys think? Have any of you run into this problem and resolved it without just uninstalling a bunch of apps?
Great question. I've considered a complete clean install, just to regain some internal space.
I wish ****ing Facebook would add an option to cache to SD card - it's a total hog. Going to endure with the Aria until fall and see what's out on AT&T at that point.
I know app2sd from the market has worked for me in the past. I had a ton of apps on my aria and haven't had a space issue

The solution for me was to move the Dalvik cache to the SD card.
DISCLAIMER: Some people report this causes problems, I guess. The information I'm providing explain what worked for me. Following my instructions might cause instability, brick your phone, destroy your house, or eat your second cousin. None of these things are my fault.
I guess when a2sd is installed, it does not by default move the Dalvik cache, which contains files needed for apps to run. The more apps you install, the more that gets installed in this Dalvik cache. Here's how to move the dalvik cache on your phone to the a2sd partition, assuming you've perused the above warnings.
Open Terminal Emulator.
type su and hit enter.
type a2sd cachesdreset and hit enter.
The phone will restart, and it will take a long time, because it's got to rebuild the dalvik cache. You can do it without wiping the dalvik cache by using the cachesd command instead of cachesdreset, but I've read that wiping the dalvik cache doesn't hurt, and can potentially solve some issues? YMMV. My phone took awhile to start up.
Once the phone starts up, you can open something like Titanium Backup, and you should notice that your phone has MUCH more internal memory available. My phone now has 89MB of internal memory available, out of the total 194MB.
Things seem to run a bit slower upon startup than they used to, but after a bit, everything smooths out. And I can install apps again, etc.
Hope this helps.

I think that I ran into this very recently. The following thread has some good info.

problems installing angry birds!

i got minicm-x8 1.0.0-RC1 installed and angry birds won't download because of
D/DownloadManager( 3216): download aborted - not enough free space in internal storage
but i have 178 MB free on my internal memory i've tried setting
CM settings/application settings
to auto/internal and external to no avail any ideas?
other games are installing fine :/
Try to wipe cache in xrecovery
I can't download AB from market with that ROM. As dbts25 said, try wipe cache. I assume that with all custom roms there's bug when downloading 3MB> files from Market.
Wipe cache in xRecovery should solve that.
But, when I downloaded Angry Birds from external site, install was successfull. It's a bit laggy on this tom, but it works.
EDIT: If you want Angry Birds Rio, and I assume that you can't download it from Market, do this:
-open your browser, open google and type: angry birds rio android download.
Choose second result, and when page opens click on FAST DOWNLOAD button. It should be light blue color. Your download should start.
When download is over, just click on that in notification bar and install it. Works great
If you wipe dalvick cache you can download and install angry birds from market on minicm rc1 but app2sd won't work
I downloaded ab rio and ab seasons, but first ab wont download...

apps not loading

All of a sudden my apps on my sd are not loading, you see them on the screen (not in the app drawer ) with the default android logo and when you click it, it wont run. The memory card works as you can see stuff stored on it with a file manager etc. Also I can see the list of apps on the sd when i go on manage application and i can also uninstall if i want. Ive tried rebooting multiple times to no avail, also turned off phone and removed and re entered sd card twice but still didnt work when i booted.
Anyway to solve this.

Back up all your user apps with Titanium and do a fresh install (Flash the ROM again, duh), hopefully it will work unless you made an ext partition.
re-flashing is not some i want to consider ATM, what exactly does clearing the symbol cache do.

I think he meant system cache. Yes. Try wiping cache and dalvik cache. If still you are not able to see apps, then you need to do a data wipe.

Getting Error downloading certain apps from the market

I flashed the CM7 Epicmtd selfkang 12/13 build today and i am noticing that certain apps that i have purchased and free ones as well give me an error "insufficient space on the phone" i am attaching a screenshot of it. I checked the internal storage at its indicating i have 433mb of free space. Can you anyone help? I wiped data / cache and dalvik 3x prior of flashing this build. The ROM I was using before was cm7 Epic selfkang 11/24 build (BML).
Your phone has very limited space for app storage. You need to either delete unused apps or move whichever apps that will go to the sd card.

I had the same problem all u got to do is wipe ur cache & dalvik. I looked in the cm7 thread but it took awhile go thru and read all the posts but it was worth it.

No. I know what your problem is now. You have pieces of those apps still on your phone causing that error. It happened to me with the ebay app and youtube. You need to use root explorer to search your phone storage for any filename with the name of the app. For example youtube. You may find files like com.android.youtube. or simiiliar. You will need to delete those remnants and then you should be good.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Thanks for info, but still a no go. I deleted all the files associated with the app using root explorer till the built in search didn't turn up any results. I read a post from another user with this ROM having trouble installing apps larger than the size of the cache partition, so I'm guessing that could be it. Just unsure....

Yeah bro... the cache partition is where Market tries to put the download and if you are on current CM7 MTD your cache is 25MB total. That's a no go for some apps on the market. You can see your cache size and free space by running df -h in term emulator.
You can:
1. Restore app with Ti if you had it installed before and backed up in Ti
2. Wait for next version of CM7 MTD and hope cache partition is bigger (would require a fresh CM7 install as it will redo partitions (eg fdisk'ing will wipe them clean))
3. Go back to non MTD ROM and get app installed and backed up with Ti so you can restore it once you go back onto CM7 MTD

Thanks for the confirmation, I will do the steps you provided for the apps I really can't live without haha. Hope the next build has more space than 25mb in the cache.

I'm sure it'll be adjusted, seems like I've heard the 25MB Cache partition was more proof of concept. But I'm not one of the devs so take it with a grain of salt
I found another work around. If you could get a hold of the apk, then it'll install.
I used my wife's phone to download Frontline Commando, pulled it with Total Commander (or your favorite file explorer) and copied it over. It installed fine.
The file was 27.## MB.
Sneezy is right, that will work if you have a spare device.

(Help) Insufficient Storage Error!

I have 500MB left and whenever I'm trying to update/install apps from the Play Story it gives me this error!
I tried clearing the dalvik-cache which is like 450MB but it force closes the whole system and apps!
After rebooting... the dalvik-cache is still there! I'm guessing that it's rewritten itself...
I think dalvik cache rewrites itself after it's wipe
That's Why it takes a long time to boot after dalvik wipe

Where do you have only 500mb left? Meaning /data/media or /cache (not /dalvik-cache).
Try going into Setting>Apps> Gallery, Playstore, video player, music player and wiping the Cache there. Gallery is a cache hog, so is Browser and Playstore.
Once you get that cleaned out, you should be able to download something from the market. I suggest Cache Cleaner NG. It is a cache cleaner that you can set to run everyday, week, month. I have mine set to run every morning before I wake up so my tablet is fresh and clean and ready to use.

What should I do next?

I can't even install apps to clean my system!

Clearing cache from recovery is not the same. Go into those apps and wipe them there.
Also, take look in /data/log and see if anything is in there. I just read about someone yesterday that had 11gb of useless entries in there. If there is anything in that file, just delete it (it isn't needed) and the set the permission to User-R and the rest blank and you would get those files anymore.
If all else fails, just delete something from your internal that you can replace later on from your PC (like some music or video) and that way you'll clear out some space to download a cleaner from the market.

Yeah... I checked all the apps and cache was deleted!
There's no "log" at all!
Also why would I need to delete something from my internal?
I deleted a lot from downloads...
Your internal and /data/media are the same thing. If you said that your internal is almost full and you are getting the error,....

I know!
But I deleted a lot of stuff! and now I have 400MB!
400MB should be enough to install an 800KB app!
Just trying to troubleshoot here man. Use a file explorer and look around to see if anything sticks out.
Might be time to do a factory reset and clean house (as a last resort) unless someone else has any ideas.
Good luck.
You need to have at least 512MB on your internal memory to be able to instal more programs. There is no fix for that.

I've deleted a lot of stuff and apps and now I have 1.2GB an I installed couple of apps successfully!
He is correct, 512 is the limit, you will also notice the system slows ALOT after this point, I like to use my MicroSD for alot of things for this reason.
Also glad I read the 'log' tip, I had a 600Mb log just sitting there. X.x
I get this insufficient space error when titanium backup runs a scheduled backup. I have 18gb free and when I manually do a backup it works like a charm. Odd behavior. Sorry, I don't have any suggestions; just wanted to let you know you are not alone.

I do use a 16GB microSD BUT the problem is that I have 10GB of apps/games! -_-
Try Apps2SD or a similar app.
I know for sure that the huge amounts of resource files used by games like Shadowgun and GTAIII can be stored on the MicroSD, freeing alot.

Probably /data is on the verge of running out of available inodes, do you have a lot of small files on it?
