Can sony ericson X10 android port to hd2.
just a question.
its good looking .
**** wrong place i thing.
if someone can give a dumped system folder that is deodexed and some images are resized...
well...
there is the android 1.6 architecture even with 2.1 its mildly possible but I haven't seen a true official 2.2 with the real sony goodies (eg timescape and what not)
If I see that then yes. If I see it with 2.1 its slightly still a yes with limitations. But so far being 1.6...and in the size it is in (sony using 854 I believe instead of 800) I'd say no...
I mean if I had a deodexed system folder that is current (like 2.1 or 2.2 preferred) it'd be possible...

As far as im aware the SE X10 is now running 2.1
That would be cool to have. Is that more of a vanilla ROM?

how to dump system folder...
that's also deodexed with timescape...
personally I wonder if you can just copy the system folder from a deodexed system...with timescape but graphics in framework have to be resized as well

1) I want to know, what parts of sense are device specific?
2) Is a new kernel needed to port it?
3) What dependencies does rosie.apk have?
4) To anyone that has ported it, what was the general process?
On samsung i5700 btw
Thanks
i too would like more info. There has to be a better way than the way of just trial and error. for the windows mobile of Sense, a couple of devs developed a SDK to actually program sense based roms and not just hack
would be interesting to see something like this come to android

#1 You dont see SenseUI on non HTC devices because drivers just dont match up. Its difficult to port from one htc phone to another, imagine porting from HTC to Motorola (although it is being worked on)
#2 I have used non sense kernels for Sense ROMS and there are some overclock kernels that are universal for all ROMS (for a specific device). Im not sure about all kernels.
#3 WOW this is a big one. The list is too long to describe haha. The Sense UI runs deep down from the framework to system files and you wont be able to simply drag a few files over to a NON sense ROM and make it run. The reason you don't see sense widgets floating around on non sense ROMS is because they reference back to other system files and images in the framework. Ok so SOME sense apps like the keyboard can be ported over because all dependencies and files run within the application so thats ok. I know the widgets are a no go for the most part.
#4 Cant help you on that one. Never ported one completely but Ive modified already ported sense ROMS.
I don't know about Sence, but my Liquid has a lot of changes in system libs and frameworks. But from the visual side of things - it is stock Android. So Sense should be even more intrusive.
Nothing is impossible - just take dissassmbler, debugger and plenty of time to accompany you.
I am kind of a noob so please forgive me if this post is in the wrong place, or if there is another post that addresses this.
Are there any roms working for the eris that have a working version of flash 10.1? I would love to be able to watch hulu on my phone.
Not yet that I'm aware.
Your only chance is in a froyo rom, if your running one and it doesn't have it then no.
I believe part of the problem is the flash libraries are written for processors that are newer than the Eris, so until a dev rewrites the libraries to work with a lower processor, which would be difficult, I don't see it happening.
Could be wrong though
BTW just for reference this post should be in the general section

I have heard that because the stock eris rom can run flash lite, it is possible for it to run full flash it is just a matter of fixing the code. xtrSENSE supposedly has working flash 10 as an added flash-able zip file, but it doesn't work. Anyway, I hope someone gets this figured out because it would be awesome. Thanks.

Flash 10.1 works on 2.1. It's just a matter of it being able to load in time before server determines it fails..( hence the reason why hulu/fancast dont work)
Look for my posts in the link above, you should be able to get it to work.
There are two releases for the flash 10.1. One for phones running on 2.1 and ones running 2.2. I have the KaosFroyo v39 on my droid eris and tried the flash plugin for 2.2 but it wouldn't install. I downloaded the flash plugin for 2.1 and it installed. I heard the 10.1 plugin for the 2.2 works on the newer droid phones that received the original froyo updates. i can't verify cause i don't own one.
Since I'm new and cannot put links in my post yet, you are going to have to Google them.
Sorry!
Skyfire Browser
I have found that the Skyfire browser app from the market can play flash. If you are using a 2.2 ROM then I suggest installing this app. On a side note I have read the HULU is note making videos available for mobile browsers. Correct me if I am wrong.
you don't read the posts do you? : p
Skyfire will work with 2.1 & 2.2 w/o any problems.
Yes, Hulu blocks mobile devices.
and yes, our ARM v6 process sucks my ****, but we're still here cuz we love our phones.

The flash "10.1" is set up.for sense roms. You can install on sense 2.1&2.2. The apk is set up ONLY for sense through.

It'll install but crash your browser. Its not going to work because the developers of flash 10.1 for mobile devices never wrote an "instruction set" for our type of processors, ARM v6.
is there way to make this happend
so we could remove from the update file apks we dont want
thx

Code:
shubCRAFT build + Htc Sense possible ?
if i take the apks of htc sense and put them in
htc update file in shubcraft its will install the htc ?
and remove the LauncherPro
nope, it isnt possible, sense is much more than just a launcher it has lots of modified frameworks too
I'm sure you can find a theme that looks similar to sense if thats all your after.
Maybe similar but it is not the original.
the htc dialer would be great if theres anyway to bring it in.

A cat is fine too...
Whats wrong with the builds that natively run sense? What is the benefit to sense on top of shubcraft. The entire idea of shubcraft is to be an alternative to sense via the cyanogen mod.
shubchraft! was made for those who don't like HTC Sense and Original android stock! I also like HTC Sense and I am using Darkstone latest with HTC sense and it works great!
You guys don't get it, huh?
Most builds, except shubcraft, come with the system in an ext2 image that needs to be mounted in linux in order to make changes to the system. shubcraft, which uses zegobit's superb initrd, has the ability to use an OTA-like update.zip that requires no signature and is used to create the system image.
What OP is asking for is for a sense build built around this rootfs.
It's possible/doable. I'm still very much a linux newbie and I don't understand the boot process too well. I do know that as it is right now, the init.rc in the rootfs only sets the jar classpath for the stock android and misses some jars actually needed to get sense builds to boot too.
I figure it could be as easy as taking the initrc from a sense build, commenting out the filesystem mounting procedures (as the init script already takes care of it), and then make an update.zip using, say, matt's sense system (mount it, extract it, and then compress it all into a zip).
Guess I'll give it a shot and then post both the update.zip and rootfs if it works
yes that what i meant
hope u will success
This would be great to have.

Hello Everyone!!
I recieved my DX last Friday and am quickly becoming acustomed to it. I do, however, have a few questions and was hoping that you could point me to the right threads or answers I seek.
First off, Rooting and deodex. If I understand things correctly, I need to do this before I can make any changes/mods. I did read here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940986
It sounds pretty straight-foward and I'm not shy when it comes to doing this.
Second, start-up/running apps/battery life. I hear some people wishing for better battery life and others saying it's ok. I also read somewhere about disabling apps with a start-up mgr to improve battery life. Like a dummy I didn't bookmark the thread and can't find the info again. I'm curious about how to do this. Which apps can I safely disable without causing problems or making a brick. I really would like to get rid of CityID, amazon MP3, Blockbuster, and maybe a few others. There are many apps listed in the "running" section under manage apps, are all of these necessary?
And, Third, App Killers/Pgm Mgr's. Are they required/helpful? If so, any suggestions for a good one? I read about them in the post mentioned in Q2 and am curious. I'm not positive, but the thread I didn't bookmark may be elsewhere.
Thanks in Advance for any and all help and suggestions.
Mike
Heres a list some quick googling turned up on safe to remove apps in Gingerbread, nothing official, just what someone removed successfully
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-x-hacks/137295-gingerbread-apps-safe-freeze-rename.html
Here is a list I found for Froyo
http://androidforums.com/droid-x-al...vable-non-removable-root-pre-gingerbread.html
There are a few ways to freeze/remove apps, but the method I use is using Root Explorer, rename the .apk file of the app you wish to remove, for instance, in the folder system/app/ you can find "CityID.apk", I would rename it to "bak.CityID.bak", where the first "bak" is to change the alphabetical order to group frozen apps, and the second "bak" is to remove the .apk file extension.
Everyone has their own opinions on Task Killers, but heres two articles that make sense to me
http://geekfor.me/faq/you-shouldnt-be-using-a-task-killer-with-android/
http://lifehacker.com/5650894/andro...ed-what-they-do-and-why-you-shouldnt-use-them
Ok, this brings me to another, maybe dumb, question. When you say Gingerbread and Froyo, are they names for stock ROM's? If so, how do I know which one I have. I'm still learning about the DX and Android OS. I come from a Win6.x smartphone. The learning curve there was much shorter before I decided to flash a custom ROM to it (ookba's work is excellent, btw). Thanks for the first two posts, I'll read up and enlighten myself.
Android versions
They are android versions. Go to settings>about phoneand look for android version.
3.0.x is honeycomb
2.3.x is gingerbread
2.2.x is froyo
2.1.x is eclair
2.0.x is donut (i think)
Notice a pattern? I also came from windows mobile 6 so thats as far back as I know for versio.n names

Thanks for the info! I'm 2.2.1 aka Froyo. Now this gets me started. Anyone recommend a rooting and/or deodex pgm?
Hey, I know the power of our GPU devices is fast. But everyone of us want to push their phone faster without killed the battery. So today I introduce you: Adreno 300 series update driver for Xperia. It should work with every Xperia that powered by Adreno 300 series GPU and Kitkat rom (recomended 4.4.4)
Based on Qualcomm developer preview driver for Nexus line. I had removed unused stuff (wrong libs, file, junk, etc...) and make it flashable....
Prefer to flash via CWM (TWRP on your choice but I notice that many mod cant install correctly, that also happen to CWM so if you had any trouble, try to flash via both recovery...)
Remember to clear kernel setting, wipe dalvik/cache after flashed this
TOS: I dont care if your device is faulty, weird, brick, your house on fire, you loose the job...Flash at your own risk after trying this...This is test driver, not officialy one....Remember to backup everything before trying this....Dont cry if you didnt listen to me...
And remember to run games/benchmark to compare after and before you flash this mod...

Yeah, we are take the source from the same (Qualcomm) But mine is better for right now (Trim useless file, reduce 2x of file size, IDK about that thread)
And Qualcomm just updated Adreno 320 driver for Ubuntu 14.09 Linaro. So dev have chance to port Ubuntu ROM....
Our Xperia just use driver dated from 04/07/2014 so I think this will bring some boost...

I would love an Andreno 200 series version of this, despite that no one actually confirmed any performance changes, only one post showing a small increase (maybe just a normal difference when benchmarking), I'm whilling to give my Xperia S (Adreno 220) any performance boost at all. Almost 3 years with this phone and I guess it's almost time to retire it, so no problems for me. :fingers-crossed:
Now is ok with script in .zip?
now its working, zip flash it via twrp and i notice a big jump in performance on my z2.score 3d in antutu before it was 9k, after flash almost 14k
great thanx buddy:good:

Here (recomended 4.1.2) (Untest, flash at your risk)
Adreno 200 series libs
Flash like Adreno 300 file (wipe dalvik/cache...and so on)
P/S: Since I didnt know the mount system in old Xperia I will put a harmless test file in zip to check if the zip is flash correct. After flashing this, /system should have a file called "AdrenoTEST". If you already flashed but still cant find that file, that's mean I used the wrong way to mount system in recovery. If you can find it, feel free to delete test file...
